  1. Hitman 2 is pretty dang good. If you own Hitman(2016) you also get all of those maps updated with the new mechanics in Hitman 2. If not you can just pay $20 to add those in. If you have not played the last game, its an action puzzle game where the puzzle is how sneakily or badly you can murder some folks in various ways. The different environments are interesting and fun to explore. For example the first map is an F1 race where you have to get one of the drivers and their Tony Stark arms manufacturer father who is putting on a demo of murder androids next door.
  2. Build quality of an original vs cheap(er) knock offs. People like the ender 3 because, relative to what has come before it, its build quality and potential performance are pretty great for ~200. Having said that some people have to do a good amount of tweaking and calibration to get great prints out of the Ender 3. Like I had to buy a glass plate because my build surface wasn't that level. Or the filament will rub against the z-axis rod so you have to print something to prevent that.
  3. I would check out the /r/printedminis and /r/3dprintedtabletop subreddits to get an idea of what sort of real world results people are getting from various printers. I got a Creality Ender3 but didn't get much of a chance to use it because we decided to move. I haven't had a chance to set it back up again. Its comes about halfway assembled and it seems like half of the people are printing amazingly from the start and half are having to work at it.
  4. Dragon 3d printing files -
  5. First, just wearing a gasmask for any length of time sucks. Doing physical activity in one really sucks. Also you can't really see great so unless you really are trying to stop breathing I wouldn't try riding a bike in traffic in one. According to some Oregon Health Authority tweets the n95 masks block the smoke but they need to be professionally fitted to work. Last this is apparently the best way to build a DIY filter with a box fan. https://tombuildsstuff.blogspot.com/2013/06/better-box-fan-air-purifier.html

  7. AMD just released a new processor with integrated graphics that seems to be pretty good for budget gaming. If you are still thinking about upgrading you might want to check it out. https://techreport.com/review/33235/amd-ryzen-3-2200g-and-ryzen-5-2400g-processors-reviewed
  8. In a similar vein https://twitter.com/unchartedatlas is a twitter bot that procedurally generates maps. Nothing quite as nice as these but its pretty cool.
  9. So if almost everything is 5 years old you might be able to squeeze into that price point. What I don't know is if it will be that much better. As Romans said decent video cards are hard to grab right now but if you try for something a little older or less powerful you might be able to find it. The problem is will cpu+motherboard+ram+video card at 500ish still be a decent enough upgrade. You might try using http://www.userbenchmark.com/PCBuilder to build out a current system profile then build out an upgrade system to see if it makes sense.
  10. I have a 1070 or maybe a 1080 that is working good. But thanks to the cryptocurrency miners getting any decent video card is super difficult right now.
  11. So PP is releasing a skirmish version of their rules called Company of Iron. Does anyone have a link to a decent preview or review?
  12. PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds Despite the cumbersome name, if you don't absolutely hate shooters you should buy this game. 100 people parachute out of an airplane and have to grab the randomly distributed loot and try to be the last person alive. Every few minutes the 8km x 8km map is constricted into smaller and smaller safe zones forcing conflict to occur. You can play solo, duo or a 3 or 4 man team. Playing this has been some of the most tense and fun gaming I have had in very long time. From slowly crawling through a wheat field hoping to not get sniped and trying to catch a glimpse of the other person you think is also crawling through your field to parachuting onto the same rooftop as someone else and trying to frantically punch them out while they try to frantically load the revolver they picked up. Its $30 in early access on Steam and actually is the 3rd most played game on Steam right now. 10/10
  13. Very cool 40k video in the style of Take On Me
  14. http://www.polygon.com/e3/2016/6/15/11915710/warhammer-40k-dawn-of-war-3-everything-we-know Looks like some good ole DOW.
  15. Its the app of the week. Its a top down tactical game that seems decent enough so far.
  16. I would echo andy's suggestion to go look at the The Wirecutter article. Based on their recs a few years ago i bought a UE Boom and its pretty great. Its rugged and I wouldn't hesitate to take it to the beach. If I was going to get another one I would get another UE something.
  17. Mech Deck - the tactical board game with drafted, customizable, Mechs battling on a random battlefield. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1883062146/mech-deck?ref=nav_search
  18. There is also Mobile Frame Zero: http://mobileframezero.com/mfz/
  19. Secrets of the Third Reich II KS https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/832150598/1949-sotr-ii-the-weird-wwii-miniatures-game?ref=nav_search I bought the book for the first edition a while ago. The setting is Weird War II. The intent was that you can make an army as weird as you want or not. You can just play infantry platoon vs infantry platoon or you can go with USA diesel powered terminators vs German werewolves and a mech. If I remember correctly the rules seem like they were based on 40k 3rd edition or so. I never actually got a chance to play it though so I maybe mistaken about the rules. The Incursion board game is set in the same universe so if you got in on that KS or have the original edition you already have some models for the game. Incursion is straight up the space hulk to SOTR's 40k. There are zombies with sea mines crammed in their torso, Capt America style super soldiers, mechs, German paratroopers in power armor etc.
  20. HoTS is a less obtuse and less frustrating version of Dota. I like most of the changes they have made to make their moba unique. However you still live or die by your teammates. So it still can be a crapshoot unless you team up with with friends.
  21. Saw this on r/Portland Pic: http://imgur.com/a/opGcP Video: https://youtu.be/yr2dGUsCpsc?t=12s Apparently the cops caught the guy right away.
  22. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31858156 This sucks.
  23. I played the beta quite a bit. It was fun but at its core it wasn't that different from the Left 4 Dead versus gameplay . Without a good group of friends to play with I don't think it would be worth picking up at full price.
