  1. OC is Southeast of Portland along the southeast bend of I-205 at the Willamette and clackamas rivers.
  2. With bad weather rolling in after noon today, I don't know if anybody is planning on going tonight. I brought my stuff just in case but it would be nice to know ahead of time if somebody else is going to be there.
  3. I'll bring FJ and/or French Heavy Tank
  4. Only a month to go. Haven't heard many peeps chiming in so I'll lax on the lists. You DON'T have to include a special character/warrior team. But if you do, I'll add 3 pts to your painting score. If you don't have a warrior/character then your HQ element will be used for paint judging.
  5. I would love the Bastogne campaign now that my Glider Infantry company is pretty much done and I was planning on using them for most of next year anyway.
  6. That would be "Emporers Pointy Sticks". (turn signals on a land raider)
  7. i won't be able to make it this week.
  8. I like option 2. One whole day of playing Flames of War wears me out. I'm not into marathon playing. A 1 day event is plenty of fun for me, especially when I have been working on NOT getting caught up in the competitive nature of tournaments.
  9. I am so going to retool my american tanks. One platoon will have, with all its attachments: Jumbo Jumbo (2ic) m4 76mm m4 76mm m4 76mm (cic) m4 76mm (abrams) m4 m4 ARV (hq attachment) Would take a lot of work to knock out those 76mm with shots first going to Jumbo, then ARV, then m4, then finally 76mm. I know, I know flank them, gun tank them, etc etc.. but then there is the "where I place them", good US armor players would know how to make thing work, etc etc...you still have to succeed in all that and it will still take a lot of work, or extremely lucky.
  10. I like the reroll first attempt to range in with sherman 105s. That would make people use them over the armored mortars. I've always liked the m4 105 but with the FOW game system, other stuff like armored mortars comes out a better deal and I can never get them into a list.
  11. Oooh, I like the idea of attaching them to a platoon to take hits, never thought of that. Thanks for the tip, it'll go well with Jumbos. Once you do get past a jumbo, the only thing you kill is an ARV.
  12. I brought along 2k worth of german armor
  13. you play for Oregon since we all know that the rest of Washington has given up on Vancouver, both of them.
  14. So, we have an event date, but what is the rest of the Parameters for this tournament?
  15. Less than 2 months away! Don't forget, the only thing being judged for painting is your special character. This allows you to borrow stuff to fill out your lists without being penalized. If its Germans or Americans, I could probably help.

  18. Sounds like you need to run a valentines day massacre with squishy bits only
  19. Heading back down now, should be able to make it in time.
  20. Gotta run up to Everett WA today, don't know if I will be back in time to get a game in. Barca, I brought your minis and will at least stop by to drop them off if I'm running late. You don't have to wait just for me if nobody else shows up. I'll just try to get them to you next week.
  21. Nice to see you two working on this event. I have participated in the past events and they have been great. I love the aspect of playing people outside our normal realm of local event participants. New peeps, new army lists, and my favorite new paint & modeling. Looking forward to this event.
  22. Having served in military intelligence I too have participated in wargaming exercises at div and corps HQ level. We spent every hour of every day of every week work out all aspects of the exercise and it took a couple battalions of men to work the logistics. Trust me there is no game in existence that can simulate combat. Therefore, I only like to play what is fun and enjoyable and as soon as a game is no longer enjoyable I'm out. And if someone is going to be an ass about 'have to finish' or 'then I win' they ruin the game for me putting a bad taste in my mouth thus killing the game for me. As for the 285th scale minis, you could still use flames of war rules, just change the inch symbol to cm. 32" gun range equals 32 cm. You could make a travel fow set
