  1. I'm trying to get there too, will see how long I gotta work though.
  2. Hey Fing, ever since BGG came out, I have been a fan of Lt Boggess and his run through assenois to break the siege of Bastogne. Do you have any suggestions on reading material or where I can find more specific details on which versions of Sherman's made that run with Lt boggess?
  3. Sorry guys, I'll still be down in medford
  4. don't worry about it. Just think of the Green halftracks as Camoflague for the colorblind.
  5. and we call ourselves the squires that go .... meh...
  6. i got 1550 of german/american scrapple. I had to use some american stuff as proxy till i get the proper german stuff.
  7. kampfgruppe hansen, kampfgruppe knittel i think
  8. Bass-terds. They don't even need a gun to get my money.
  9. Wow, it's coming this saturday. Time flew quickly. Gotta get stuff readied; army chosen, list printed out, pick out a blister to pony up, and round up some cash for brunch at hotcake house. Cool, looking forward to it and something fun to do this saturday. Also, I will bring terrain for 1 table.
  10. I am going and I can't resist the Phillycheesesteak omlett at Hotcake House. Ryan may also be going, will check with him this weekend. As for all the nitty-gritty stuff of who picks who and what missions, since this is an ad-hoc replacement of OFCC, try to stick to the OFCC format stuff, except for the whole team thing, and when in doubt ..... roll a die. Also. Thank you Barca for putting this together at last minute, appreciated, and we will enjoy it whatever it is.
  11. A2B2C3D2E1 Potluck on prizes. Entry fee is each person bring a blister of sorts as prizes to be handed out according to rankings. I have terrain for 1 table if needed. H2I1J2 hotcake house L1
  12. I'll be there today, though I have german stuff. Unfortunately I still need to figure out how to kill gravel munchers without reverting to the standard solution of running an infantry company.
  13. ditto, except on the team yankee
  14. Agree about it being 1 dimensional. For us wargamers well versed in the more complicated, it would seem like Chute & Ladders. But as a hanging out with friends (that aren't deep into wargaming) & drinking beer it sounds like fun. One of the reasons why I like Wings of Glory, it's simple enough for average people to enjoy & have fun. But as for tank action, I still like Tank Aces the best.
  15. I will be out of town tomorrow, june 30th.
  16. I am going to have 2 wonderful prizes for this event for the top 2 categories. A painted US First Special Service Force Company (HQ, Platoon 1, Platoon 2), and a full 10 team LW Fallschirmjager plt. These will be handed out to the winners of the following categories: A - Best Painted Warrior (Warrior / Historic Hero / Movie Character). and B - Best Surviving Warrior - player gets 1 pt for each game that their warrior did not get killed, and 1 pt for each warrior that they killed. My Question is, with which Category would the participants like to see the prizes be handed out to?
  17. Has she seen the movie "Tank Girl"?
  18. Tanksgiving is more of an "Event" than it is a Tournament. Games will be Tournament style, but the awards are handed out differently.
  19. Here is an update to the Tankgiving Event at Gaurdian Games Date: 11/12/2016 Era: LW 1500 *special http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/28352-tanksgiving-event-nov-12-2016/
  20. Yeah, that is the easy way, but I am trying to stick with "no infantry, no guns". Was thinking if AA defensive fire drives off Rudel, then it counts as warrior killed even though Rudel can still come back during the game.
  21. For LW, the only warrior i could find twice was Currie for the brits in Overlord and Market Garden. Also, don't forget about Panzer Kanonen from Grey Wolf as a possible way of giving special characters some abilities. If someone takes Rudel (JU 87 stuka), I may have to modify the surviving character bit. Will look more into that one.

  23. NO Infantry Teams (as listed under infantry teams in the arsenal) and NO Gun Teams (as listed under gun teams in the arsenal) Tank Teams allow for all kinds of stuff like tanks, selfpropelled arty, selfpropelled assault guns, armored mortars, armored recon, selfpropelled AA, etc.. The problems with some platoon such as Self Propelled Artillery Battery is that they still have staff team, command team and observer team, since the unit is foremost a TANK TEAM, the auxillery teams are allowed so the TANK TEAMS can function like their supposed to. Since airplanes are NOT an Infantry team, nor are they a gun team, then YES airplanes are allowed.
  24. WHAT: TANKSGIVING at Guardian Games This is more of an event rather than a competitive tournament. WHEN: November 12, 2016 STARTS 11:00 AM. COST: $15.00 GAMES: 3 rounds of games, Missions will be tank friendly. LISTS: 1500 pts LW, NO gun teams, NO infantry teams per arsenals, except such teams as cmd, staff, observers that come with Tank Team units like Priests, Sextons, Hummels or Katyushas. Airplanes are allowed. MUST HAVE a warrior team OR a historically known person (Lt Boggess of 4th armor who made first contact to break the seige of Bastogne) OR a fictional movie character (brad Pitt, fury) Painting requirement: is ONLY FOR the warrior/person/character. This gives you 5 months to get your special figure and get it painted. I know some players only have infantry so this allows you to borrow tanks without giving up on the best prize of this event. PRIZES: Best surviving special character gets first pick of the prize pool. Best painted special character gets second pick. Fan favorite gets third pick. All the rest of the prizes will be handed out via a lottery system. You earn your choice of lottery tokens by winning games. I will personally be painting up as many prizes as I can. basic US infantry company 2x brit shermans churchill arv PAINT JUDGING CHECKLIST: This is what I will use to judge the Warrior/Character teams.
