  10. Welcome to the area. I help organize FoW tournaments around the area and even get to play every once in while. On Thursday nights there is a loose group that plays at Guardian Games. It has been hit or miss lately but if you schedule something on the forum here we'll make sure someone is there for a friendly game. If that day doesn't work for you we can schedule another time. If you are out on the westside, I can play at The Friendly Local Game Store in Beaverton. If tournaments are your thing or you just want to watch, there are two tournaments coming up. One in October what is mid-war Eastern Front book only. Another is Tanksgiving which is Tank Compnay only; both held at Guardian Games in Portland. Additional details can be found on this board.
  11. yes. i got the corner houses and you'll see them at an upcoming fow tournament near you.

  14. I took part in a great demo game put on by mightyatom at GG at the beginning of the year but would like another one. Hopefully someone can do it at The Friendly Local Game Store in Beaverton as I go past nearly every day on my commute. I've got some unpainted assembled forces.
  15. Checking to see if we can get at least 8 players to say yes and commit by pre-registering/pay for this tournament. A couple years ago we tried early war without pre-pay and then only three players showed up. Is there enough interest for the early war era? Date would be in February 2015 but the Saturday has not been selected yet. Entry fee will be $20 and it goes towards prize support. Location would be Guardian Games in Portland. 19. Welcome to Portland Tom. How did you find out about the Ordo FoW subforum board? I got busy with work over the past eight months so haven't been down there that much for Thursday nights but need to get back. I might need an alternate night as traffic seems to always be bad coming into town from the westside that time of day. In the past lazarus and Zeke have been pretty regular on Thursday nights. Myself, Bolo, and jesselowe are part of the Battlefront Rangers which means we go around to different stores in the region and give instruction/demo games using the contents of the Open Fire box set when requested. As others have said, I also run tournaments at Guardian Games about four times a year; I don't work at the store but am just a guy who wants to see FoW played more. I also head up the Flames of War tournament at the NHGMS Enfilade convention each May in Olympia, WA. For tournaments, we have a few coming up before the end of the year. Sept: ? Northwest Invasion III @Olymipa, TO Lord Hanaur Oct: Mid-war tournament @Guardian Games, TO taran.shannara Nov: Tanksgiving late war @Gaurdian Games, TO taran.shannara If you want any pointers on painting 15mm feel free to ask. We have a quite a few around here that are good at it and a couple of them paint for CGR Painters. If you are already really good, I'll have to talk with you sometime. I'd also recommend the wwpd.net podcast about Flames of War. For ww2 eras, to get a game in, people have armies for all three, but for tournaments, the only sucess we have had hosting them is in mid-war and late war.
  20. Yes, that is what 2014 mid-war Nationals is set at. I see 1485*, 1500*, 1550, 1625, 1650, 1750 being used on BF forums for mid-war (mw). Asterisk ones seen most popular.
  21. So, I know someone will ask.... From the BF website regarding midwar monsters and nationals this year.... "So, in answer to your questions, Mid-War monsters are not to be used at this Historicon EXCEPT according the to official Return of the Monsters briefing here: http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=3757 Tournaments The following Mid-war Monsters can be used in any Flames Of War tournament: ■ Any German company may replace all of its Schwere Panzer Platoons with Schwere Panzer (Porsche) Platoons, and replace all Tiger I E tanks in the Company HQ with Tiger (P) tanks at no cost. ■ You may field Dicker Max and Sturer Emil in an Experimental Tank-hunter Platoon in place of a Tank-hunter Platoon in Eastern Front. ■ You may field 8.8cm Flak18 Sfl in a Bunker Flak Platoon in Eastern Front. ■ You may field Panzer I F in an Infantry Tank Platoon in place of an Assault Tank Platoon in Eastern Front. ■ A Soviet force, excluding a Mixed Tankovy Batalon, may replace any or all of its Medium Tankovy Companies with Eksperimental Tankovy Companies. If it is a Tankovy Batalon it can purchase the Command tank in the Battalion HQ as a T-43 medium tank for 95 points. These all have seen some, although limited, action."
  22. The rest of my "sale" order arrived yesterday. It took quite a while but eventually is all here now. Although there was some substitutions for arab tanks instead of the north box sets but they through in the correct decals to make up for it.
