    base question

    Deff Koptas have bases?
  2. My Speed Freeks are going to love Streets & Roads. Go figure 🙂
  3. I pre-ordered a copy and am looking forward to playing. I recall reading somewhere that it's intended for 4 to 6/8(?) players; hopefully it'll scale downwards for my 3-person group. If not, I suppose we could each play 2 factions...
  4. In the most recent Independent Characters podcast, Carl Tuttle mentioned that there are two playtest groups that he's aware of. One is codenamed The Mournival, and does rules/competitive playtest -- I believe that's the one that the Nova and FLG guys are a part of. The other is called The Infinity Circuit, and comes at playtest from a more casual, narrative point of view and includes people like his group (Carl, Adan, Justin), Loopy (from the Masters of the Forge podcast, and other stuff) and a few others I don't recall. I think it is smart for GW to come at playtest from both sides. Parsing the two streams of feedback can't always be easy, as 40k has a pretty complex history (in-game backstory, playstyle and edition wars) but I'm glad they're at least trying to address all the styles of play.

A Cadre Fireblade + EMP Grenade strategem is a reliable way to get a wound on a target in preparation for Focused Fire. It costs a CP, but when you *really* need that wound it's worth it. And those other T'au players running T'au sept weren't only doing it for Focused Fire... overwatch on a 5+, rerolling ones if you're clever and a bit lucky with Greater Good markerlights is like a free shooting phase.
  6. I like it... Heretic Chaplain vibe.
  7. I've been thinking about doing something along these lines for my orks. Mobs of 30 boys are a pita to move, but I worry that trays would be too difficult to maneuver due to terrain.

    GSC

I wish they'd never rolled Genestealers up into the Tyranids. They work so much better as Lovecraftian horrors IMO.
  9. Mostly, I need help keeping my Strategems and special abilities straight 😉 That, and assault tricks & techniques... never really did much of that with my T'au. I am going Evil Suns... looking forward to a fully mechanized Waaagh!
  10. Do share! I've switched over to Orks from my T'au and need all the help I can get 😄

The HobbyTown on SE 82nd in Happy Valley seemed to have a large selection last time I was there... plus they have a large selection of Vallejo paints if you like.need any.
  12. Deadpool 5/5 - I put this on to keep me company while building my Gorkanaut. Two hours later I had made zero progress on the model. Hellboy 5/5 - I put this on after Deadpool, and made even less progress on the model... having glued it to my fingers.

He's been doing the thing for a long while. I'm not sure how the GW IP radar works, but however it is he seems to be flying under it. And his bitz are great, look good with fine casting.

And when you're ordering magnets, order a bunch of CIBs from http://www.reddogminis.com/catalog/item/9021373/10338245.htm Mmmmmmm, CIBs...

Crisis Suits, Broadsides and Ghostkeels all receive a sizable drop in points in CA18, and the Missile Pod (and other wargear) too. Your planned Crisis teams just got a lot more affordable, Pax.
  17. I'm reading The Sisters Brothers, by Patrick DeWitt. It's fantastic. I recommend it followed by a Red Dead Redemption 2 play-through.

You're right, I was confusing the Gunrig's rules with the Droneport. You seem set on running the Tidewall stuff, so I wish you the best with it. It's an expensive ($) investment, I hope you aren't disappointed once you get a few games in.

Regarding Pathfinders... if you decide to go that way, three words: Pulse Accelerator Drones. Break 'em off and park next to your Fire Warrior blobs, ideally out of LOS. T'au are all about stacking buffs.

Beware of the Tidewall, it's a trap. The transports suppress the Fireblade and Ethereal buffs and both Kauyon & Mont'ka, plus the fortification detachment costs you one of your three (in most games) Commanders. The Gunrig requires a character (typically a Firesight Marksman) embarked to be even a bit effective... unless you play it as Sa'cea (to gain the reroll-a-miss trait). I love how they look and they're (kind'a) fun in a friendly game but the downsides are many. I've tried putting Pathfinders in mine, but I think you're just better off forgoing the Tidewall and buying more Pathfinders with the points if you want to go down the Pathfinder path (cough). You get more flexibility, and more markerlights (on the first turn or two, at least). I'm a fan of embedded markerlights over Pathfinders. Firesight Marksmen, Cadre Fireblades, Shas'ui w/ Markerlight all are untargetable... unlike Pathfinders and Marker Drones. And a savvy opponent will try very hard to take out those markerlights as early as possible and the drones are vulnerable (and at BS5, only marginally effective). IME, shield drones are a better investment than markers -- you can (and should) screen them using LOS and they're still effective, plus their FNP goes a ways.

    Your first album

I'll take streaming digital every day. I get seriously overwhelmed if I have too many options to choose just one from. Going into a record store without having decided ahead of time could cause an aneurism. I do miss the physicality of an LP though. Liner notes and inserts. The stickers that came with Dark Side of the Moon were great, not to mention the giant dollar bill from Billion Dollar Babies.

    Your first album

Kind'a. This particular album was a set of covers performed by the legendary Peter Pan Pop Band Singers (or, as fans know them, 3PBS). https://www.discogs.com/Peter-Pan-Pop-Band-Singers-Snoopy-Vs-The-Red-Baron/release/1046295
