  1. So, you know that GW is a business that sells models right?
  2. Sure there are. I just took a quick flip through and found plenty of pics of Land Raiders, Land Speeders, Dark Angels on bikes, Dark Talons, Ultramarine Terminators, Wolfen, Wolf Guard Cavalry, etc.
  3. Well will you look at that! https://www.fallouthobbies.com/collections/limited-decals/products/copy-of-ltd-15-01
  4. Absolutely. The 3e transfers I've been using (contemporary with yours) are WAY more fragile than the modern ones that came in the IF Primaris Upgrade kit. Sure would be nice if GW produced more of those someday.
  5. The 40 Ork boys in my pile of shame are starting to sweat.
  6. Q-tips are the bane of my existence right now. I use them to clean up the oil wash when weathering a model, and they leave behind a million little fibers than invariably get missed and varnished onto the model forever. I'm gonna try some make-up sponges I got from my daughter next time, see how that works. Of course, that's not to say a q-tip wouldn't work great for step #11, I'm sure it would. I'm just trying to be a good 40k fan and complain about stuff 😉😉
  7. I've been using 3rd ed Imperial Fist transfers on my Primaris Marines and they're super-delicate. Here's my process FWIW: Gloss varnish the shoulder pad. Let it dry. Cut out the transfer Put the transfer onto a fold of paper towel that's sodden with water Put a drop or two of water on top of the decal. Wait for it to come off the backing Paint a bit of the blue micro-sol/set onto the shoulder pad Use two damp paintbrushes to pick up the transfer Put it on the shoulder pad Put a small brush-load of Micro-sol/set red on top. Wait for it to dry a good bit Do step #8 again Do step #9 again Inspect. If it looks like the transfer has settled sufficiently use some very damp paper towel, using a gentle rolling motion, to press directly on the decal. If it hasn't settled down to my liking, back to step #10 Gloss varnish when dry. Weather. Matte varnish.
  8. Finally got another unit of Intercessors finished, these guys with Auto bolt rifles. Hat tip to @Ish for the idea of using the KT board as a photo set.
  9. Listen, if you're just gonna sit there and split hairs...
  10. To be fair, you paid for a signature and you got one so don't complain too much. UPS doesn't even ring my doorbell, they just dump and run.
  11. That's my concern with PL play... the unwritten rule to not be "That Guy". I have a unit of Crisis Suits equipped with CIBs (by FAR the best weapon choice). If I bring them to a PL game, I have to worry if I'm "That Guy". Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Depends on my opponent. If I play a points-based game, I don't have to worry about it... I paid my points, I play my unit. Sure, it's still possible to be "That Guy" but I have to work a lot harder at it by bringing 3 maxed out Crisis Bombs rather than just optimal weapon choices on a unit. Of course, if I'm just "That Guy" by personality it really doesn't matter does it? 😄
  12. I picked up a Primaris Space Wolf Getting Started box because it's an economical way to get some Intercessors and Aggressors. The box includes a Wolf Guard Battle Leader as well. Figured I'd give him a coat of paint. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out:
  13. I'm looking forward to trying it. If I follow my usual pattern with things like this I'll be super gung-ho for about 3 games then get tired of all the paperwork and drop back to normal games. But it'll be a most excellent three games.
  14. Finally managed to get back to painting some proper IF Aggressors. Damned PS4.
  15. For those who suspect the recent [big bad swear word]storm of leaks was GW guerrilla marketing: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/667861432?t=00h10m31s Spoiler: It wasn't
  16. Rumor has it this is the Space Marine version of the new faction-specific terrain kits GW is introducing a la Age of Sigmar. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  17. I tried it and it was, for me, a disaster. I spent far more time cleaning up after damage from glue, scratches during assembly etc. than I saved. I've found that subassemblies work better for me. For example, on Tor Garadon, I assembled the model but left the cloak, head and Gravity gun off to paint separately. This allowed easy access to paint the whole model, but with relatively few assembly issues... I just had a couple of places where highlights didn't line up and stuff like that, and they were easy to fix.
  18. Great work. Inspirational as always 👍 👍
  19. I can't wait to use that Strat. Haven't had a game since Saga of the Beast released. Stoooopid coronavirus.
  20. I think there's other stuff too... for example Red and Green are opposite one another on the color wheel, however Red and Green are also Christmas.
  21. Probably past its sell-by date...
  22. Primaris Repulsor finally done. My Primaris Pile o' Shame is gooooooone 💪 At least, until new stuff shows up on Wednesday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
