  1. Eep! Sorry that I missed this for so long. Things have been hectic and I missed the forum being moved. I'm kind of keep on team above average, or something along those lines. For now let's say that's it, just so that we can get signed up and purchase tickets. Sorry for being a bit behind!
  2. The 10-man unit of centigor, ghorgon, trolls, and doombull are now patched and primed. Tomorrow i should have time to assmeble more gors and to work on painting. I'm still undecided on what to use for my shaman, but I have a few ideas in the works. Goals for now are getting models for the rampage painted up. I doubt I will have time to get them all done, but it gives me a short-term goal to set my sights on.
  3. Well, if you weigh the trolls against bestigors, they come out to be just about the same in terms of damage to defense. Besides, if you get that gor unit in the flank, it is basically screwed. I guess more testing is needed.
  4. Thanks, guys! Drak, I hope the list seemed like it would be fair for the OFCC. When wildform goes off on those gors they become insanely good in combat, and the trolls are no slouch either. Even with killing all of my other units, I still had 1600 just in those two. Hopefully it's not a points-denial situation. Either way, I had a blast getting beat down by your vampires, still can't believe that my ghorgon panicked and got rundown by a spirit host!
  5. I'm on my way! just got home and saw this, didn't realize sooner!
  6. I thought that's what would happen if you DID show up.
  7. Rampage is coming up! I've decided that my list will not be at all competitive, but will consist of models that I want to work on painting. Great Bray Shaman - Beasts, Level 4, Fencer's blades, Talismen of Endurance Wargor - BSB, Beast Banner, Gnarled Hide, Heavy Armor, Shield 49 Gors - Extra Hand Weapon, Full Command 5 Ungor Raiders 5 Ungor Raiders 5 Ungor Raiders Tuskgor Chariot Razorgor Razorgor 5 Harpies 10 Centigors - Standard, Musician Giant Ghorgon Its all monsters and smashing, but it should be pretty fun!
  8. My snails from Scibor came in! The models are great, and are perfect for the army. Little snails to make up my centigors, a bigger one as a unit filler in the 10-man, another large one for one of my trolls, and the giant snail for a ghorgon. I have some pictures, but my camera is currently taking a trip to Amsterdam with a friend. Until then I just have some crappy ones that I got with my webcam. 10-man Centigor: Ghorgon: Trolls and Doombull: And this little fella, who I can use for the lower-level transformation as a hydra: Again, sorry for the bad pictures, there will be better ones in a few weeks (hopefully). The majority of the army is assembled now, I'll be able to focus my time and energy on getting things painted up. Starting to get excited for the finished product!
  9. Wings are on! Hopefully they are stable enough to stay in place, I have high hopes that they will. All that's left now is to clean up the joints, fill in some cracks, and get the rest of the modeling done on the tree trunk. I'm short on free time this week, but I'm hoping to have a handful more models painted up by the weekend.
  10. I'd say dark is a better lore for the average player, but high magic might be more useful to a skilled general. It also depends a lot on your army composition, and what you hope to achieve with your magic phase.
  11. Woo! Getting some serious work done today. A little bit of painting on my ever-growing Gor unit, and getting work done on this baby, which will eventually be my dragon for Transformation of Kadon.
  12. Sadly they don't randomize to the eagle. Mounted on a monstrous beast makes the BSB monstrous cav, so they share a wound profile.
  13. You're playing Broson on Sunday, I'm playing Drak.
  14. Throwing pucks around? This calls for an impromptu parking lot hockey game.
  15. That is a sexy-looking beast :) Keep up the good work!
  16. Bus formation refers to the narrowest possible unit that can exist and still count a rank bonus. It has a term because it is a direct tactical counter to horde formation, when you value attacks over ranks. Anything in the middle has to be specified. If somebody says bus, you immediately assume a minimum frontage and max ranks, even if there are only a handful of additional ranks.
  17. Huzzah! Lets all get our tools and brushes going!
  18. I could honestly seeing it go either way. The way that scream is written you could say that it's an augment, and you could say that devolve is a hex. There is technically no target of scream, and devolve hits all units within 12". If you had to not target units in combat, then you wouldn't be able to cast the spell in 50% of situations. I don't want to get into a rule-lawyering fight over this, but I will go with the ruling given by the event staff for better or worse.
  19. No problem, Devo. It's actually good to hear that I'm ahead of somebody :)
  20. As the spells in Lore of the Wild are from an older book and don't have spell type classifications, I need some clarification on how some of the spells in this lore work. Beastial Surge - Pretty straight forward, no questions. Viletide - Magic Missile, no issue here. Devolve - Does this affect units that are engaged in close combat? Bray-Scream - Can a character in combat have this cast on them? All it says is that they make a breathe weapon attack, so can they do it and make the usual 2d6 hits against a unit that they are in base contact with? Traitor-Kin - This one is at least FAQ'd to say that it hits units that are in combat. In terms of casting it on chariots, how do you decide what armor bonuses come from being a chariot? Most chariots just say that they have a total combined save of X. Would you just assume that the models being hit are equipped with the armor on their profile? Mantle of Ghorok - No questions. Savage Domination - No questions.
  21. Alright, I sent out a PM to everybody...kinda. Kremmet, it wont let me send you messages for whatever reason. If there is any way that I can contact you then let me know. Otherwise, I'm just posting the message here (not like it's a secret or anything). -- Hello, everyone! First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for coming together to form a team. OFCC is a blast every year, so we will have to do our part to make sure it stays that way. Looks like right now this is our team layout: Devo: Empire Nephren-Ka: Ogres Kremmet: Daemons, Wood Elves, or Dark Elves Rudra34: Beastmen No redundancy is good, it means we wont have to fight over who gets to bring which army. Everyone be sure to get your lists in order, and keep on top of any painting/modeling that you need to get done by the time OFCC rolls around. Personally I have a lot of work to do, so I'm keeping on top of it and getting a little done each day. If you need help getting things done on time, just ask. We also need to settle on a team name, so if anyone has some ideas, speak now so that we can get it figured out. I will order us team name tags once we settle on a name, and if there is any interest we can get shirts or something. I think that's it for now. Thanks again to everyone for signing on, now lets get set to kick some ass! -Evan --
  22. Yup, They will not count towards the minimum 25% core. Which is a bummer, because dogs can be useful. In the next book, whenever it comes out, they will probably be brought in line with other 8th editions books that make puppies count towards core.
