  1. I'll make a challenge to anyone who wants to get together and test OFCC lists on the 18th. 2800 points of smashing!
  2. Well, good to know that it's still doable. The rules could definitely use an amendment about taking full units, unless it's in there and I'm missing it. Looking forward to testing the list out, I need to see if I have too many throw-away units. Chaff is important in this game, but too much chaff can clog up your own troops and lead to mistakes. I'm also undeacided about which lore to bring on my shaman. Beasts is the number 1 choice right now, but I am up for testing out lore of the wild to see if it's worthwhile. Shadow and death are amazing, but the casting values are a bit high for my tastes.

  4. That...is a good question. In previous years it was just one unit, but the way it's worded makes it seem like a unit of anything under 100 points is still limited to just two models. Bronson, can we get a ruling here, and if needed, an update on the OFCC thread?
  5. The dragon is going to wreck some faces, but its big gamble having an undead general on his own like that. I'd say the list is pretty balanced, though I can see where it might get iffy for lists that have no way of dealing with that kind of a threat. But in a competition where it's known that people can, and are encouraged to, take big monsters, I think most armies should have tools available to fight back.
  6. Unless you're rolling really high for winds, I don't see magic as being an issue here. Besides, the rest of the army is very balanced, so you should have good games.
  7. As far as the list goes, I think it looks fine. It is definitely a beast in combat, but doesn't seem like it would be unfun to play against.
  8. Well, chaos wizards are allowed to take armor as the have chaos armor either stock or as an option. Because of that they are allowed to use magical armor. I'd say that the same applies here: Caster has the option to bring some kind of armor, therefor they are not barred from bringing magical armor. It's how people have been playing it since a month or so after the book came out. To change it now just because GW are being dicks about getting the FAQ back up doesn't seem necessary.
  9. They can. It was a big controversy when the Ogre book came out, as slaughte rmasters had the option for an iron fist. Eventually, in the FAQ, they said that it wasn't intended, but would allow for them to take armor anyways. A very weird situation.
  10. The only thing I would change is having both a dispel scroll and the cube, other than that The list looks fine. Well, it does lack bastiladons, but I suppose I can let that slide :)
  11. Yeah, if you had gotten that charge with the last unit of slayers then you would have decimated the last of my bestigors. Those are some effective, orange-haired bastards.
  12. OFCC allows monsters and units from storms of magic and tamaunsdfnanjsfbakan.
  13. I think this will be the final product, which means I need to get to work on building some centigors and figuring out what I want to use as a ghorgon. Never mind that, I just ordered a whole load of snails, big and small, from Scibor :)
  14. I'm a little bummed that there aren't TWO shaggoths, but other than that, I dig it.
  15. The unit is a bit unwieldy, but no more than a horde of 20mm infantry. If you are loading up on characters in the front rank then I think 3 wide is the way to go, but it's certainly not necessary to win. You should give it a shot and see how it goes.

  17. I just realized an important change that I should make. I switch the dragonhelm and heavy armor on the gorebull to the blacked plate. He will lose one point off of his armor save, but this will mean that the trolls get their 4++ regen and also a 4++ against flaming attacks. That unit is going to be awesome!
  18. I can't do the rambull build AND take the 206 BsB. In this list the beast banner is more important as the doombull has a beef unit of trolls to support him, and doesn't need to be able to wreck units on his own. Besides, rambulls are a dime a dozen :)
