  1. If you are still new and unsure to something, I would suggest sticking to models and strategies that you are more practiced with, rather than running on a hope and prayer mid tourney. I have not changed my two lists since this season started, entirely for that reason. Just dont have the time to practice new lists, and paint them up to be ready for ITS. Or ya might just be able to pull it off so who knows! hahaha Thank you and your good wife very much for the dice bag, there is not a more perfect Infinity dice bag to be known~
  2. My wife said she saw you! I am a fish out of water in places like that seeing as I know very little about the anime and the star wars hahaha And the dice bag will bring my already above average rolls in to a whole new level of awesome! Never owned a dice bag before, and this will be my first and last, I absolutely love it!
  3. There are two camps of thought on speckles in ITS. Allow for variation and the customization of it. Do not allow as the model could be used to shore up deficiencies in the sectorial (such as a hacker in Ariadna or something like that). I love them as a way to poke around and play with a list I like, but am in no way offended when people remove them from their events. If you agree to play them in normal games, it can be super fun too!
  4. That urban camo is perfect, may I ask what the recipe was?
  5. Your rolls were frustrating to me, even though they were helping the Chris cause. You were a great presence on the table, and excellent company to keep. We will have more games for sure! The Lu Duan has always been my best friend (a word to anyone at the tournament, I lean on the Lu Duan too much [but am AWESOMELY lucky with it!]). That game was the very first time I have ever lost Sun Tze to non crits! But it was a desperate attempt to stop a well played push to cover the primary routes of cover on my right flank. Your having controlled so much area made my concentrated punches just not win any ground. Great work! Hope all the terrain stuffs will help you guys get those tables rolled out! Also I mentioned, and we played with, a rule that has served us well when playing on non infinity centered terrain. It is not an official rule, though it helped us out up here to get playing (using all the 40k terrain hahaha). Maybe you all will come up with a better iteration? At any rate it helps 'adapt' the rubble terrain to an infinity game. -You may trace LoS/LoF IN to and OUT of a structure, you may not fire THROUGH said structure. All in all Portland gamers, and the city itself, are an excellent lot! And I was extremely happy to see some of the lesser known games actually played! Your roads confuse me though. I just do not seem to be able to figure it out hahaha Looking forward to seeing you all next weekend for the ITS event George is setting up!
  6. ISS suffers from obvious Lt syndrome, so Sun Tze offers a great opportunity to run an unzipped Lt and dang does he do a great job! That is of course assuming you take a try at the sectorial PS ISS is super fun~
  7. wish some of these guys up here (me lol) were as good about painting as you guys
  8. I went for ALL the pdfs, and am going to get all the models when they become available Never played a pen and paper rpg before, but I am sure I will at least like the pretty pictures!
  9. That Hsien looks rad man (everything does but I like him best >:9 )
  10. At least painting an infinity force is delayed because we are so motivated to make it look our best, rather than avoiding looking at hundreds of models that need colour and the despair that comes with that realization hahaha
  11. Your #5 is so important. I see it bubble near the top so often and I can only throw cold water on that so fast. It just gets us no where to treat tabletop hobbying as a zero sum game. Room for all! I am honestly super sad on the insides from the AoS thing, but I would never stop or impede someone from playing it. I simply could not be dragged in to it myself though. No bad talk needed, despite my great emotion on the matter hahaha
  12. Excellent points, and Infinity just seems to appeal to these people for the love of the game, rather than the lust for the win alone. we use a google group and facebook group up here to post info on, and it has been extremely awesome to see people push away their shyness and come play! Tournaments have been great fun, feeling like marathoning the game rather than throat ripping hahaha I am PUMPED for Infinity at this coming ofcc! Erik will have another go at laying tire treat tattoos up on my face!
  13. It is a trait listed with the weapon profile (like suppression fire for example) Love lock one, don't forget u-turn!
  14. No idea, but I never use them as I like the look of just the chinese space inquisition
  15. Will be great to see you all for a second weekend in a row! Sad you will have to stare at my tired old ISS, as they are all I have painted hahaha
  16. Reminding people that I will be down there 19-20 and would love to get games with anyone that would suffer the company! I have to stay nearby (few miles walking is A-Ok) the convention center cause my wife will be using the car. I will go to guardian or wow or wherever people do the things they do in your city, just tell me where to be! I have a box of terrain bits for Don't Panic that I (hopefully) will not forget!
  17. That is a really good list, good range band coverage, good area of control (repeaters), specialists, mines!
  18. It is very different than the conventions that most of the other games adhere to (2d6 Ld/Courage/willpower tests etc) These go away fast as people get it better. Our group only derps over timing really. as for smoke, two models can not draw los/lof through it. In this case MSV2 ignores smoke, granting that model LOS/LoF. If that active MSV2 model fires on a non MSV equipped model through said smoke, the MSV2 model takes not penalty, while the non MSV model suffers a -6BS penalty to fire back (shooting back desperately at the muzzle flash and the like). The rulebook has better graphics and more articulation than I do though so double check with that before you believe anything I say!
  19. yeah, lacking the tools completely will make for some desperate moments. Top players have repeatedly said to bring at least something, be it a tactic or piece of equipment, for the inevitable bad day. Can't speak for wh40k since I have not played since Tau came out, but whfb saw a great deal of trying to bypass phases. Chaos and the shooting phase for instance. Infinity does not afford that nearly as well hahaha I consistently bone my reactive phase, because I just keep falling in to the same trap of hiding, rather than keeping pressure on the opponent. Just as you figured, versatility is indeed extremely important. And rather than thinking "I need MSV for camo, sniper for long range etc etc" I would suggest thinking this way instead, "I need something for anti camo, I need something to contest/survive long range" Camo can be bypassed by starving it for orders (kill everything else), flame/chain DTW, mines, MSV, sensor, sniffer, and so on. Choose the one that works best with your play Snipers at long range? Drop troops, camo, hidden deployment, cautious move, and so on. Dont give up on a list that has things you like, tweak what just doesn't work for you! Paid for by the don't throw away committee (DTAC)
  20. naga have vexed me more than once hahaha
  21. each exchange of events, feels like there is a tangible purpose and result. besides, we belt out at least 2 games each in an evening (including extra time left over for watching eachother's games and bs-ing)
  22. That will all look perfect in game. It is truly satisfying painting for Infinity, I look forward to it/MAKE time to do it, because it is not soul draining like looking at a painting table full of 100 goblins.... Great work man

  24. I place a shotgun template which contacts two models one is facing me and AROs shoot one is facing away (watching the six) and AROs dodge (due to lack of options). The shotgunner rolls two misses! 19 and 20! The Facing me target hots me on a 2, the model facing away fails to dodge on a 16 the template just projects the dice roll on to more than one target, and each target reacts in kind
