  1. Combat groups are usually, and certainly not always, comprised of one main 10 order group followed by a smaller (3 to 4 or so orders) support group. The models in group 1 are tend to be you active strikers, runners, button smashers, or whatever needs coordination and energy to get the mission done. This is where the link team, TAG, and Specialists tend to live so they have the orders and attention after deployment needed to function well. The models in group 2 tend to take a more supporting and independent role. This is where the Total reaction skills, extra eyes watching the six while waiting to be tapped in to group 1 with command tokens (just send me in coach!), and extreme impetuous nutjobs tend to live happily. Once deployed, the TR models and 'sentries' will not be running around too terribly much until their moment. Having lots of orders ready for them is not too needed. The impetuous troops generate their own orders, and die very often anyway, so having them do their own thing tends not to hamper them much at all. Generally if you need two models to work together, they should be in the same group. This is just some observations I have made while teaching the game to new players, and what my experience is with this very specific and singular aspect of Infinity list building. Not a law or anything, and there are certainly exceptions! When I build a list, the first and most important mechanical concern is order efficiency. that does not mean they have to be efficient at a task per se, if I can feed them enough orders to get the job done! My experience there coming from my love of Heavy Infantry, and how they were slower in N2. I consider the job/mission I have for them in mind. This helps me select equipment and models I like for this purpose. After these two things come together, I usually end up with about 12 or 13 models. As we know you may only have 10 orders in a group (some bots and equipment are models, but do not generate orders and can then be included). So I go back to the order efficiency and task at hand questions. ================= In general I would summarize as follows, Keep group 1 as close to 10 orders as you can Keep your models that will be doing lots of active work in group 1 as they need orders to be active Let your support models and equipment overflow in to group 2 When a skill or model does not need many or any order to do their job, move them to group 2 if group 1 is full Play it and switch it up a bit based on your playstyle and observations!
  2. The engineer is a great idea, as general purpose lists should have some specialist troops spread (doctor engineer hacker FO etc). Only thing I would suggest, and I suggest it alot, play around with combat group organization. I will write a little opinion and observation post about what I mean here in a sec as this tends to be a really odd thing about Infinity list building. Beautiful models there though!
  3. Only thing I would immediately note is that the sin-eater could go to group 2, and the prowler and zero could then come up to group 1. This allows the chimera to do what ever the chimera was going to do anyway, and the sin eater to post up and stare down the enemy in ARO. All the while group one is fat with orders to do work as a team! Just my penny's worth of thoughts so please do run as you feel best!
  4. switch it! the lt can be either one and just choose at the beginning of each game hahaha
  5. the ghulam rifle lsg, and possibly the ghulam hmg, if deployed very hidden and carefully, could trick your opponent in to thinking it is your lieutenant too!
  6. It just allows you to concentrate on what you need the main force of your army to accomplish, while still having guys watching your six and posting up as sentries. You can certainly do what you were looking to before, as combat group arrangement is a thing all to itself in this game!
  7. Early list builds tend to suffer from shiny model syndrome, where everything looks great! All those tools are great, but come at the balance of order efficiency suffering (just as nathonicus said). If you are clear with your opponent beforehand, it might be better to try something more simple or lower points to play at first hahaha. What you have there now is super complex to me, but i am pretty dumb so you do what is right for you! Cant wait to hear how the games go!
  8. Any way you would move the three ghulam to group two, and move the muyib to group one? As group one loses bodies you can use command tokens to bring ghulam from group 2 to group 1 to stay at ten orders!
  9. That list looks fine to me! Make sure your hacker keeps support up on the bots and brigada and you should be fine! Tr bot with marksman is very nice~
  10. Pics? I love seeing people's terrain!
  11. There will be a series of them hahaha seems like it takes most players about 5 good tries to get old game systems out of their head and Infinity in there instead. It is very different, in all the best ways. We have had a couple skillful powergamers come through, they beat us for a bit, then we get them back once we learn tactics to handle their 'trick'. Sadly they all left once they were figured out lol
  12. That looks like a tough list to learn, but lots of great models and tools, so I like it. cybermask is complex, but incredibly powerful with the asura hacker. While disguised, she can not be hacked! If you can, make sure to have that marksman watching over her shoulder or she will get overwhelmed by a strong coordinated order or link team or something
  13. I am BLIND did not see him sorry. Rajik hacker is a community fave, I will always love my boarding shotgun rajik. plugged cheerleaders and link teams alike! You are probably right for the hacker though, I speak ONLY to my time with him and generally people like the hacker much more hahaha For the govad? Most people just use a ghulam or something. I can just attest that having no MSV in the faction in 2nd ed was stressful for sure
  14. Achilles is tricky in that he will earn a bullseye on his head QUICK in your group. If you dedicate him to a task (and he has SUPPORT [that agema will do perfectly]) he is extremely likely to complete it once you know how to use him. He was the very first model I took out from my first OFCC tournament opponent because I know what he is capable of hahaha. And the poor guy could not make a reasonable dodge or save for the life of him*... *sorry Art
  15. I play Haqq often, and a list very similar to that so I have a thought! Perhaps pull one ghulam off of combat group two and squeeze in an MSV GOVAD. And remember, the Fiday is SUPER hard to use at first, but when you gain experience with them, your opponents will learn to remember where they are. My last Hassassin game saw my fiday take 4 heads, gutting an elite link team from inches away, before falling. Might also consider dropping a lasiq to play with a Rajik! They are super fun. Either way there is great quality with that list, as I am biased to Muyib to a fault
  16. I am not sure what the second yudbot is connected to, but it looks fun otherwise! Send achilles after whatever scares ya, watch him eat its bones, and counter with the big girl after that?
  17. I know almost nothing about how to play anything aliens, so I can not wait to hear what strat and tactics you come up with!
  18. Oh crud sorry, I just did not even think to post it here til today. Next time!
  19. Isolated was spoken for wrong, but at least the general idea works! Pretty entertaining too
  20. can I send your tub of terrain bits with one of them perhaps?!
  21. http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/32759-its-august-15-in-seattle/ Only just now noticed this was not posted here sorry! We got more tables, but I think they miiiiight be full already. If you are interested though just give Polly (Toadchild) a message and we will figure it out. Can always just come and say hi too of course!
  22. http://www.infinitythegame.com/army/ Free stats and army builder on the infinity site!
  23. It sounds silly, but even tippy top tourney players say start with what you like and just refine your play and massage the list to fit that. I know non of us are psycho tournament minded people, but when those types corroborate it too there must be something to the idea! Tomb kings huh? Weather and counter attack sounds like a shell game. Maybe play some vanilla or mrrf ariadna to give a try to their specialty? They are very mutli faceted and generally more difficult to play. Bloodgod on the official forums is a genius on the table with them! High elf shock and hold might fit well with nomads. They have access to the very rare HRMC and some unusually unusual angles they occuoy (like Sin-Eaters and Reverends) Honestly, pick a model ya like and have a go. It is that easy to do. Proxy to try before buy, or just proxy forever if ya like really
  24. Yeah these models are a world apart from what we are used to for sure hahaha the combined army players will tell you a story about gaki and praeta!
  25. you can mount them on whatever you want really, so long as you remeber they are still bound to a Sil value (center to center of base and sil)
