  1. I think I might be able to do that. edit: I'll see if I can grab Muskrat to come out too.
  2. I think we all agree that it is a maximum value, not minimum. What we may not agree on is how much of it to use. I would say try some lists with high, med, and low SWC value for different situations, see what fits your playstyle and model availability, and roll with that.
  3. Personally, based off the few games I've played, I've found that having a variety of weapons helps a TON. The different weapon ranges alone can help you cover anything from short, medium or long efficiently, and that usually means including loadouts that use SWC. Having all Combi Rifles suuuuucks, as anything longer than 16" means -3 or -6. Having an HMG that covers long from 16"-32" with a +3, has Burst 4 and Damage 15 (and not to mention Suppression Fire) helps balance out your weapon ranges, making your force lethal from near or afar. This can especially help if you have to go first, and your enemy is initially outside that 16" Combi range. I'm sure that there are arguments against it. And I can even think of a few myself. Infiltrators, Jumpers, bikes, smoke are but a few that come to mind. But, again, for general purposes, it is not a bad idea to fill up SWC where you can, especially if it means simply changing the loadout of an existing model on your list to be equipped with a HMG instead of a Combi.
  4. If you can't get close to the SWC max because of the availability of your models or the style of game you want to run, i get that. Heck, I've run an all core army for WFB before, with zero specials or rares, just to try it, and I did well. I agree with the fellows above. It depends on your play style, the missions objectives, and how well you deploy and utilize your guys. I'm not saying every list should have max SWC. But there's a reason that it is a max. It is because it has usefulness in the game to the point that it needs to be capped, similar to there being a points max. Just because it's a 300 point max doesn't mean you shouldn't try getting close to 300 points. I attribute the same logic to SWC. I also understand I could be horribly wrong, since I only have five games under my belt. But, as a general rule of thumb, aren't special weapons usually helpful in most situations? Wouldn't it be a good idea to have them if you can? Most lists I've put up on the Infinity forums with low SWC have come back with responses to me adding more SWC. And though I agree it's not absolutely necessary to max out SWC, personally, I'd rather take an HMG over a Combi Rifle if I could...
  5. The one thing that screams out at me is 3.0 SWC, when you could have 6.0.
  6. That's the one I went to. The one on Foster. It's not really new. It's been there for at least 5 or 6 years, maybe longer.
  7. I think it was 3 or 4 years ago.
  8. So you guys keep mentioning Red Castle, but I had a horrid experience there and vowed to never go back. So I'm torn... I'd like to play with people and learn the game. But that place will never garner my business.
  9. Rumor has it the rules from Paradiso will be in N3:HS, if not already in N3:Core. The campaign missions and info, however, will not.
  10. @Raindog That's some pretty nice terrain! There are a ton of terrain stores out there. The one on my list currently is Warsenal. Comanche Walkway Bundle Comanche Starter Pack
  11. I love that it has a lanyard. Cause you know you want to hang that from your neck. What else are you going to do with a $33 oddly shaped chunk of metal?
  12. Any Infinity people going to be at wow tonight? What time do doors open?
  13. Why the eff is this $33?!? It just measures 1", 2" and 3". I f***ing hate GW.
  14. I'd rather not derail a topic with my crazy rants If you really want my opinion, feel free to pm me. I'm always up for a healthy debate!
  15. Shouldn't AoS get their own tab too? I don't consider that crap as WFB.
  16. Tam's Tactica really helped me with list-building, and explaining why you take what you take. Unit Roles helps with informal nomenclature of units and how/why they are used.
  17. I believe O:I box has recommendations of what to buy to expand the box's models to a 300 point army. There are several things I like about Infinity. The models look gorgeous. The lore is very interesting. Free living rules. Support for the game. New/replacement models for various factions releasing every month. Cheap to get into. Pretty balanced for the most part. Every model can be used (no auto-shelf or auto-field choices) due to proper balancing. Game style keeps both players' attention on active and inactive turns with reactions. Several third-party companies out there that make some freaking awesome terrain. The company pays attention to what their customers want. FAQs are directly answered by reps on their very active forums. Corvus Belli is the epitome of how a table-top gaming company should be run. (Clearly this is just my humble opinion, when comparing the s***storm that is GW right now. That being said, I'm dying to play. I've only played the first three missions of O:I, so I would love to keep playing. I originally wanted to run ALEPH, but I bought a few Yu Jing models just to paint up and showcase (Sun Tze, Invincibles), then I ended up just going with YJ. I'll probably pick up ALEPH soon too. PS. As much as I'd rather support local businesses, Miniature Market has some really good deals on infinity, like all the time.
  18. I finally have Tuesdays free! Basketball moved to Wednesdays for a while. Let's get some Infinity going!
  19. Throw some blood and corpses on the steam tank to fit the theme of vampires/undead. Make it look like a reaver ship from Firefly. Whoa. I just blew my mindhole.
  20. I'm wondering if there will be an influx of new players...
  21. Ya, I'm never going to Red Castle ever again. The first (and last) time I went, because it was right by where I was living at the time, thinking this could be a closer place to game now and then. My roommate and I walked in and stood in front of the warhammer area, then over to the register. 20 minutes go by and not one "hi" or "how may I help you". There were just a few people in the back at a table being obnoxiously loud. I walked over to who I assumed was the employee, and asked how the warhammer scene was there, tourneys or even just game nights or pick up games. The f**ker had the gall to roll his eyes like I'm f**king inconveniencing him, and I just turned around and walked out. Usually I like to give people second chances. Not this f**ker. He probably lost that place thousands in business from my roommate and I alone.
  22. Ack! I can't make June 9th. I have basketball every Tuesday. Maybe I'll meet up with you guys some other time. Also, I've already played the first three missions of Icestorm, so I can miss this first one.
