  1. Do you have to have three of the models?
  2. I'm not sure how to use Holoprojector L2 very well yet... I'll have to read up on it.
  3. I loaned it out to Muskrat. Once he returns it to me, I'd be happy to leave it at WoW for club use. If you want your own, I bought it for $7.03 off amazon; it is now $6.59 on amazon currently.
  4. So I've started putting together my stuff from Warsenal. Stuff is pretty easy to assemble.
  5. So I recently put together a bunch of tokens using some methods recommended in another post. First I used the token generator to create the tokens, then printed them out onto cardstock. I punched them out using a 1" hole punch that I got off Amazon, then topped them off with these 1" clear epoxy stickers, also from Amazon. This was the result. The method worked really well. I did my research and noticed that some people who used this same technique found that the epoxy stickers didn't fit well with the 1" hole punch or that the stickers yellowed after time. The stickers I listed above had good reviews and were described as "High Def" so I picked them. They're a little more expensive than some other brands, but they fit well and are crystal clear, so they are proven to work. I have Amazon Prime, so everything took two days to ship. Pretty quick. Couple of tips: #1: If you are using the Token Generator I linked above, when you generate them, and you have google chrome set to default, it will open in the web browser. Print them out directly from here. If you save the pdf, then open it and print it, the tokens will be slightly smaller than the original. This will cause you to get a very slight white ring around your tokens when you punch them out. If you print them out from the chrome browser, the tokens will be slightly bigger than your 1" hole punch, however they have a thick black edge around them, so when you punch them out, you will leave some of that black edge out, making it a good size. #2: Use cardstock. I did a test run with a regular sheet of paper. I just punched something out from a mailer, and while it still worked fine, you have to use your fingers to align the paper token up with the epoxy sticker, and it helps if you have some rigidity with the token during the application process. #3: Buy at least 200 stickers (quantity 2 if you use my link above). I initially bought one order of 100 thinking that I'd just make tokens for what I need with my army. The problem is you can have things done to you that are outside your army's abilities. It's always better to be prepared. I'll probably end up buying another 100 just for the hell of it (total 300). #4: Doublesided. On the test piece (the one with regular stock paper), I applied an epoxy sticker on both sides, making it slightly easier to pick up regardless of what side it was flipped to. It's pretty cool. Not very practical, resource-wise. And definitely not needed at all, as the tokens are easy to pick up regardless. But just a thought.
  6. So I probably touched on this before on another post somewhere. I originally wanted to go with Steel Phalanx. I love greek mythology, so that appealed to me greatly. However, on my first order I knew I wanted to pick up Sun Tze just to paint because I loved the model so much. Then I saw the Zuyong Invincible, and added that to my cart too. And after 5 more minutes, four motorcycles, six blisters, and four boxes later, all of a sudden my shopping cart was full of Yu Jing. I guess that decision was made for me. So I finally decided to put up a list. Yu Jing ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 10 0 0 SUN TZE Lieutenant (Advanced Command) Boarding Shotgun, 2 Nanopulsers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (60) HAC TAO (Executive Order) HMG, Nanopulser / Pistol, DA CCW. (2 | 69) CELESTIAL GUARD Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) CELESTIAL GUARD (Kuang Shi Control Device) Combi Rifle + Light Smoke Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 13) BÀO TROOP (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (29) TOKUSETSU EISEI Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14) YÁOZĂO Electric Pulse. (3) TOKUSETSU KOHEI Engineer Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (14) YÁOZĂO Electric Pulse. (3) HÙSÒNG Yaókòng HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) WÈIBĪNG Yaókòng Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (16) TIGER SOLDIER Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32) 5.5 SWC | 299 Points Open with Army 5 I started with Sun Tze because I love the model and I love his rules. He twists things up for his enemy's deployment, while adding some more advantages to his own, plus the extra command token is nice. Above average stats across the board with good ARM and BTS and crazy high WIP, along with 2W and NWI make him a solid choice. Obviously LT. Next up is the Hac Tao. I love this guy. High stats across the board with TO Camo and high ARM/BTS. Throw on Executive Order and the obvious Sun Tze Lieutenant choice goes out the window. I can keep him with XO or take it off on a separate list to keep the enemy on their toes trying to figure out which one is the current lieutenant after I reveal him. Celestial Guards make cheap, efficient hackers. WIP 14 standard. Mainly for Fairy Dust for the heavies. I added a Kuang Shi Controller just for the Smoke Grenade Launcher. I love the Bao Troops. I've already experienced how much of a pain TO Camo is from the other end of the barrel, so having a model with MSV2 was almost a must for me. Couple that with decent range of a Combi Rifle and XVisor to help with distance mods and Discover, and this guy makes a great counter in both Active and ARO. I included both Tokusetsu models, doctor and engineer, along with a servant for each. They're mainly for if the heavies go down, but also for them being specialists. I love the idea of a Total Reaction HMG with a 360 Visor, so I had to go with the Husong Yaokong. I added the Weibing simply because I had the model. At first. Then I delved into the plethora of extra skills and equipment this model had for just 16 points, and it was a revelation. Sniffer + Sensor is great for helping with all Camos. Coupled with Deactivator, I can get by Mines. Sat-Lock to counter Camo, Forward Observer for Specialist and blinding AROs, and repeater for increasing Hacker usefulness. Such a good model for the price. It's not stellar at any one thing, but has a lot of well-rounded utility to make him useful in some way each game. Adding the Tiger Solder was iffy for me. First, I love the model, and I love an aggressive drop troop with a spitfire. But reserving an order just for him to come on the table was a little hard to justify in a 10 order army. With TO Camo on the Hac Tao and reserving his order for Hidden Deployment, and the Tiger reserving his order too, that leaves 8 orders for the pool. Cut that to 6 with an enemy command token and that makes for a weak Turn 1. However, my reasoning for including it were almost as strong. A jumper with a spitfire can be key to taking out difficult enemy troops, maybe even an enemy LT if lucky. Second, Sun Tze can turn the LT order into a regular order, so I can beef up the order pool by one, as well as dominate the deployment phase. On top of that, Sun Tze's extra command order can be used for a coordinated order for laying down suppression fire. 4 troopers on suppression fire (probably one with MSV2 and XVisor), along with the HMG Total Reaction bot would be enough to survive the first turn with limited orders. I recognize this is a defensive list. A lot of what this list entails are contingencies on what the enemy might bring, and doing well in ARO. However, I think the staying power of the models, along with the sheer firepower and utility give this army the potential to be a good all-comers list. Comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. are welcome! A side note: I calculated all the models I had and found that I had 963 points of Yu Jing, wysiwyg, with a few more blisters on the way. Good lord...
  7. I was thinking about it... I looked through the beta tests, and definitely was not impressed. It just felt like missions in a regular infinity game, except you have fewer models, and the missions weren't very thought out for an rpg. It felt like they were just testing out the combat system, which, again, was not very impressed with. I'm a big lore/fluff guy. So when I play something, I need to know the reason behind why I'm playing it. I need narrative. I need story. It's why my campaigns when I GM usually tend to be more linear than sandbox. If I were to do the same with Infinity, I'd like to see where they go with that aspect, before I purchase anything. Here's to hoping the finished product might be different. *edit: Seeing the Shadow Affairs Campaign stretch goal immediately makes it interesting to me.
  8. Remember, one thing you need is a Celestial Guard with Kuang Shi Controller if you want to include Kuang Shi in your army (the 'splodey guys).
  9. So I'm looking to take your guys' advice and give Red Castle one more shot. I sent them an email this morning, asking if they would grant the aforementioned 20% off Infinity products, and if so, how long it would take for them to order models and have them available to me. I messaged them before 9am this morning. Seeing as they open at noon, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. How long does it usually take to get a response from them?
  10. I have an order of the epoxy stickers coming today, along with a 1" hole punch. I'll print out the tokens on cardstock, punch them out, then use the epoxy stickers on top and see how they turn out. One worry I have (from reviews on amazon) was that the epoxy stickers might not be exactly 1", though they say they are...
  11. Also, each servant can only be used by one model, and can never be used by another. "Before the battle starts it is compulsory to determine which figure will control each Servant Remote, which cannot be used by any other miniature."
  12. What kind of building material are you using?
  13. Miyamoto Mushashi and Yojimbo are only available for JSA, not vanilla.

    Link Teams

Question(s): Can you put an entire link team into suppressive fire mode? If so, how many orders does it take? One for the whole group or one order for each member? I noticed that if the model that is in suppressive fire mode joins a fireteam, the mode is cancelled. I didn't know whether that applies to models already in a link team, or if there's a difference between fireteam and link team.
  15. Infinity is a 28mm miniatures game, so it should be on par with the general size of 40k and related terrain. All models are metal. The basic rules are very simple and fairly clearcut, and IMO, it's the special rules you really need to learn. They're what individualizes one model from another. Personally, I think the rules make more logical sense than 40k. So if your kid can play 40k, s/he should have no problem playing infinity. Though it is much more involved than 40k, it is also more logical and cinematic.
  16. Sunday afternoons/evenings are the absolute worst for me. Sunday mornings would be significantly better.
  17. Man, wish I could have been there, but something came up. Muskrat and I have been playing though, getting some practice in.
  18. 2) Well, if the enemy model can see you, obviously it can take an ARO shot at you, in which case would most likely be BS.
  19. Allows you to use the Twin Weapons skill (page 35). Essentially +1 Burst (ie. increases a Combi Rifle's B3 to B4).
  20. I've been researching the heck out of this. A few more points: At least 1/3rd of the model has to be covered for it to count as partial cover. Also, it didn't make sense to me that if you were mostly blocked visibly, but not in base-to-base contact with terrain, you don't benefit from cover. Then I found this: you can agree with your opponent ahead of time what constitutes as a Saturation Zone. This is something I found when I was wracking my brain. For example, let's say a good portion of visibility to a model is covered by terrain, but it's not in base-to-base contact with any terrain. You can designate it as a Saturation Zone, which effectively reduces the Burst by 1 (to a minimum of 1). This gives the feel of there being so many obstacles in between the attacker and the target, that some rounds hit harmlessly into the terrain and never reach the target. You can also take this a step further and declare something as a High Saturation Zone (-2 Burst, minimum of 1). Saturation Zone rules are on page 164.
  21. So muskrat and I have played through the first 4 missions of Icestorm, and we're loving the game. We've been playing about 1 game a week. I have yet to play with my models (Yu Jing), as we're following the O:I box missions to a tee to get the best starter experience. Muskrat has 300 of both Nomads and PanO (recommended to expand the O:I box) and over 300+ Morats. Morats were his original main force, but playing through Icestorm, I think he's liking what PanO has to offer. Can't wait to start playing with my YuJing models!
  22. Dude. I love Star Wars Armada. I bought the starter box, then everything so far that's canon (basically, an extra destroyer, corvette, and frigate, and both squadron packs).
  23. Are we doing just basic deathmatch or will there be objectives/missions?
