Thanks. Yeah, most battle points is called Battlemaster at Nova. Took Daemons and 2 converted chaos knights I borrowed from my buddy Thomas. I was going to take cav rush daemons but couldn't resist using such cool models.

Hmmm... Nova requires them to be painted unfortunately. If I borrowed them I could do a very basic dry brush job, something easily strippable, just so they were table legal. That's totally up to you though boss. It's asking a lot so I totally understand if it's a no go.

Gareth here. Finally back on town and I'll be repping Dark Tower in both the 40k GT and Invitational at Nova next week. I just have one problem. I was going to borrow some Necrons from a buddy but that may have fallen through due to unforseen medical issues. So, in case I don't hear back from said buddy, anyone have a few Necrons I can borrow? You can hold onto some figs of mine for collateral if you'd like. I'm looking for 3x (2x in a pinch) annihilation barges. Also possibly 10 warriors, a scythe and a command barge. If anyone can help me out that would be outstanding. If not, I'll be scrambling to find another list. Cheers!

If that's everything only the drakes and fmc count against you. -4 pts without baleflamers, -8 pts with for the drakes, -2pts for fmc, -3 if he is ML3.

No problem man. I come to play and have fun, whether or not it's a competetive tournament or a more laid-back store event. I'll bring the 2 lists and use whichever is best for the environment.

Gareth (me) has no problem with your 2 Tyrants sir. My daemons have some of the harshest penalties in this whole comp system. If I can make a list that comes close to the desired criteria so can you. Just view it as a challenge as I have. So this comp system infringes upon your playstlye? It does to mine as well. I play competetively. But this is not a competetive tournament. It's an event. And as long as it is run as such, you may have to adapt if you want to play in it. I would rather play in a regular tournament too, but I also plan on having fun on Saturday to the best of my ability with what this event has to offer. I view it as no different than an escalation league, or store campaign. "Fun", "noncompetetive" affairs.

Are you playing IG? If those AV14 are Land raiders then that's way more points. Also if those vehicles are transports, you pay a point for every one beyong the 3rd.

Dunno about the jugular part haha, but I do agree concerning the nomenclature. The way these things are run with no prize for winning (raffle instead), and the now implimented comp are not what most people think of when it comes to tournaments. "Event" is an apt word. Like a league, campaign, or crazy apocolalypse event. Not really a competetition, but a few fun games. Having said that, Tournaments are my bag. I go to a few GTs a year. But I'll still be attending this thing, if for nothing else than a few games and the challenge of coming up with a list that I think can do well under such strict guidlines.

Kind of off topic but, where is a good range around here? Rifles/pistols.

Landraiders are C-2, therefore 1pt for the first one and 3pts for the second for a total of 4pts. Also, isn't Tyberos Forgeworld? Is FW allowed at these events? Are your 25 power armour guys on foot? Because transports over 3 adds more negatives to the score as well as pods arriving turn 1 (C-1).

There is a point where it becomes too much. Where you have so many restrictions its not 40k anymore. There is a reason all major GTs have very few restrictions. No escalation, stronghold, etc. However, DTG is not a national event lol. I'm not criticizing the way you want to run an event. How events are run is for the community to decide. Just engaging in gentlemanly debate :-). I view this super-restrictive comp as a challenge. I currently have a list that I feel is strong and comes to 9pts. So 1pt from your target. See you there.

I read it as the first one. At least you don't play daemons mate. Simply by taking FateWeaver (mandatory in most daemon lists so your own codex doesn't [big bad swear word] you, read warpstorm chart) I am spending 5 pts, 7 if I take any exalted gifts, plus 2 for the exalted gift itself. So one piece of wargear and a special character uses 9 points... Doc is extremely biased based on the local meta it's from. However, I still want to come, play, and have fun with all you guys. So I'll try to make something work with the models I have with me... Rest won't be brought up until the moving truck gets up here in a couple weeks.

I now see why these are consistently referred to as "events" when announced on the boards. That comp is super restrictive. Fair enough, I don't have a problem with it if that's how ppl game up here. As long as ppl know ahead of time that it's not a tournament. I'm new around here and ppl in the store keep calling these things tournaments so I'm glad I checked the board. Haha
