  1. @paxmiles shaming who? If we are going to play a game I want people on the same footing as I am. I don't want people thinking we are playing checkers when it's obviously chess. It's not even unpleasant rules because you and I get into semantic rules arguments a lot it seems. That's fine. If you want to play a tight game then you need to know the rules well to know what you need to do to succeed. I play orks. I WILL be getting into close combat. If you as a player uses a few advanced techniques such as move blocking and screening you can give me more of a challenge. It's not about playing nice, it's about becoming better players and understanding that this is how the game is played at a minimum. I could play cut throat and just bring 25 lootas and 60 grots and watch people gnash their teeth as they are shot off the board by one of the most dangerous units in the game. That's not fun for people if they don't know how to counter that. So instead I will be Assaulting more and want people to be able to counter me.
  2. 3 CP once a game Unstoppable Green Tide. Needs to be under 10 though
  3. I don't really have a good one and a lot of it is visual. Maybe I can find a good blog post
  4. Hence why at that point you have the 2 CP Insane Bravery stratagem. It's easier to save one squad that could come back at full strength than multiple small squads As an Ork player msu is not good unless you are running things like Tankbustas and Kommandos. Even then they are not great because they can just be wiped off the table so easily
  5. Heh, we already played but I have different lists. Anyone want games versus Orks let me know. I am good at any Portland store and WOW
  6. For all new/Returning players, close combat is a huge part of 8th edition. As an Ork player I want people to be aware of the things I will be doing. This is gotcha 40k, and I want no games where that happens if I can help it. Having said that, Mini Wargaming did 8th edition rules and advanced rules. Here is there video on Advanced Close Combat rules and examples of them on the game table
  7. Orks don't like taking small units. We are not like Tau. We have a 6+ save standard so we die EASILY!!! So anything less than a bigger squad and they just fold and give your opponent points (in ITC) or hurt you badly. Oh and as @Ish said, morale is a HUGE issue. Command Points are precious and should not be wasted if you can compensate in list building
  8. Hahahaha 😜 yea so bad it helped win you your first game ^_~ WAAC is subjective but dependent on the intent of everyone playing. Going to a tournament, WAAC is non existent because everyone there wants to win. Bring what you want. I am not bringing my 25 loota list every time. I am feeling out my orks so the more I experience and the more I play, the happier I am
  9. My 2k list has 60 but 50 are Blood Moons and 10 fill out a Deathskulls detachment. Well, play @Dark Trainer on Tuesday and see what happens. I am running my Nob Warbikers and Kommandos list so not a good representation of that. At 1k I come back to normal
  10. Mix the shootas and the choopa boyz. Reason is because they you are engaging at all ranges and with warpath and +20 boyz you are still getting 4 attacks. So even just 10 shoota boyz with 20 Choppa boyz that are Da Jumped, you are getting 40 shots in the shooting phase with dakka dakka dakka. The Big Mek gives your units a 5++ and if you have to live through T1 it might be a boon
  11. Miggt as well get a shadowsword
  12. Hahaha you are fine. It's still great Info for those that don't know
  13. Well Age of Sigmar still has bretonians and they don't have a codex and that is on V2 already. The why is simple. The Chapterhouse lawsuit. GW does not Iike losing sales and while they love conversions they want to sell models. So they only put models in they are making
  14. It all depends on your list goal. As @Dark Trainer adds in games with objectives yoy will want more and more board presence

    Tau...

You are trying to win and do better than 20-80 other people. If you just count a win then what's the difference between the guy who wins handily vs the guy who squeaks out a narrow win?
  16. Orks... Single codex, single index. Warboss and Big Mek are important
  17. There is a handy dandy flow chart GW made. For things in the codex if they don't have the same options as the index you use the Index Dataslate (where the stats and abilities are of the unit) and the point and effects of the codex for everything. So index Big Mek doesn't have Dakka Dakka Dakka but gets a KFF. Codex version does get dakka dakka dakka but no KFF
  18. To echo this @Dark Trainer your index orks like Big Mek with KFF on or off bike, Warboss in mega armor or on warbike, will not have Dakka Dakka Dakka. They will have the current 'ere we go rules because you use the most recent version of that.
  19. Or be Ultramarines and take the 3++ halo
  20. Heh... Heh https://youtu.be/0TQWz1_uSNU
  21. Make a wall on his base or something
  22. Anything T3 and lower should be killed by sword. T4 is a wash as you hit on 2's with 5 attacks so likely 5 hits (with the reroll) but only 3 wounds since you Wound on 4's. Power fists are 4 wounds roughly That's how they always do this. Check the Voxcast they do. They cover it in episode 1
  23. You could go this route. They work well on infantry. http://www.reddogminis.com/catalog/item/9021373/10276130.htm
  24. O. O that's an amazing conversion. Needs a cloak or something to mark him
