Iraf
They do if you care about clearly written rules that interact with the game properly. I don't think a new book will guarantee that outcome

KJTW
They are called army books. Codex is a term those round basers use. Like people using big words to sound more impressive.

Like people using big words to sound more impressive.Wait..... Who used that dirty word? :p Seriously though I don't think anyone said Codex here yet. Everyone has just said 'book' when talking about army books. Though I myself have been known to use that word having played 40K first. KJTW
On the other hand, if GW stops supporting the army, maybe we can just use the current codex and FINALLY drop Men at Arms by 1 point each and make their Halberds optional :P

Brick Bungalow
My vote on the OP is Nippon but really... what I'd rather see is more CC style events where creativity and off-the-rez books and figures are welcome. There is so much great fan content out there I feel like the hobby is poised to move past the point of waiting for GW's next move.

I can't tell if you're kidding… do you really care? If so I'll try to avoid using the term but I honestly didn't notice that I did! I played WFB long before 40k (as in, I started playing over 30 years ago, gulp!), but it was just shorter to type than "army book" I guess?? I understand there are a lot of 40-curious out there. But it's okay. We are a tolerant bunch.
Fixxer
We all used to say codex in the 90s. Now its reserved for 40k "army books" for some reason....
McNathanson
90's huh? So then is Codex the "Alternative" way of saying "army book" now? I think it's very Portlandia of me. I'm going to wear a black and red flannel shirt, black skinny jeans, grow a big beard, cut my hair short, and use the term "codex" on WFB forums.
