Where are the point costs?

Recommended Posts

So its great that we have datasheets and a starting detachment for each faction. Very cool. But none of that actually allows us to build an army. I've looked over the new Tyranid sheets and there are no costs on them, nor is there a cost reference anywhere in that PDF. So when GW says we can play with existing models, I guess that means in open format where you don't have balanced sides?

New rules are, just buy as many models as you can and put them on the table. Roll a d6, and add +$$$ to the roll. The deepest wallet wins. Really makes for nice short games to get beers sooner 😜

This was a design model I fully expected given the formatting of last couple editions of WH40k and AOS.

Tournament point values will no doubt be published in some sort of “Generals’ Handbook” type supplement. This lets them print rules for units (in codices, indices, cards, etc.) and not have to reprint them multiple times during the edition’s life cycle. They can shunt that off into a supplement for tournament play, which can be updated/replaced annually (or even quarterly).
