Raindog
Okay ladies and gentleman, It is on! Sunday, August 30th, is Noob-Finity! What? You heard me. Come to WoW at 4 PM and get your Infinity Fix on. Hang out bring or bring 100 points and play several games in one night. If you are well versed, come down and play, or help out! Learn the game. Throw dice. Move models. Get a feel for the game. The cost is free. If this moves to a regular event, standard Ordo Game Night rules will apply. What should you bring? Water, chips, sodas, etc for everybody to share. Who is in?

wisetiger7
Are we doing just basic deathmatch or will there be objectives/missions?
Don't Panic
im assuming since its 'learning 100 pts' that it will be straight-faced. but im sure if it continues missions will take place... kinda like star wars armada i see missions making this game astronomically more fun!
wisetiger7
Dude. I love Star Wars Armada. I bought the starter box, then everything so far that's canon (basically, an extra destroyer, corvette, and frigate, and both squadron packs). Torg
Ok - 100pt lists (check) … should we bring more? I was planning on bringing my Operation Icestorm box… along with my new USAriadna box. -d
Don't Panic
Dude. I love Star Wars Armada. I bought the starter box, then everything so far that's canon (basically, an extra destroyer, corvette, and frigate, and both squadron packs). not to derail, but i love it. ive played a ton of it the past 2 months basically replacing whfb fix. i have 2x reb squads, 2x cr90s, 2 nebs, 1 AF, 2 vics, 2 glads and 1 imp squads lol. i play basically exclusively rebs all the time but i think imps have the upper hand strategy-wise. hence i take the underdogs :P wish other people would play it because i basically play against 1 person all the time lol. as for infinity im looking forward to learning this game. working on painting my alephs right now. looks like my dwarf display board will NEVER get finished
Raindog
Are we doing just basic deathmatch or will there be objectives/missions? We will be doing basic kill missions at this time. I think we should learn the basics, then start the mission based tactics.

Torg
here is what I am thinking for this… critique please - I have not played - beyond a couple demo's.. USAriadna Ranger Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 5 1 1 DEVIL DOG Heavy Shotgun, Smoke Grenades + 1 K-9 Antipode / AP CCW. (39) K-9 ANTIPODE AP CCW. (7) GRUNT (Marksmanship LX) Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18) GRUNT Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (10) GRUNT Lieutenant Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 10) GRUNT (Forward Observer) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. Peanut
Looks good to me and here's why: Those 5 grunts can be used as a link team, which means they'll all move together on one order and provide support to each other in active and reactive turns. That means that link is going to be a real obstacle for your opponents to get through, and you'll move all of your force up the board with a quickness. Move the Devil Dog first and throw lots of smoke. If you play it right, the devil dog's smoke will cover his own advance, then the grunts can make use of it as well. That grunt with Marksmanship lv x will do wonderful things for you - if I were playing you I'd keep all my guys in hidden for fear of that guy. If I went first, I'd kill him first, so if you're going second hide him. Read up on the link rules. You have to be careful who your link leader is. Keep the leader hidden and behind things so your link doesn't break.
Don't Panic
considering my lowest point option for Lt is 30 points with a boarding shotgun... 100 points is pretty rough for aleph. although the link teams situation could assist that issue... of thorakitai or myrmidons(which are expensive so would be difficult). hmmm maybe ill bring a thorakitai link and try that out! &*^% it, im going to bring 'skyyyy rockets in flight!' lol Aleph ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 6 0 0 MYRMIDON Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0.5 | 31) THRASYMEDES (Fireteam: Enomotarchos) Submachine gun, Light Rocket Launcher, Nanopulser, Flash Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0.5 | 30) THORAKITES Submachine gun, Light Rocket Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 18) THORAKITES (Forward Observer) Submachine gun, Chain Rifle, Flash Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (13) NETROD Electric Pulse. (4) NETROD Electric Pulse. (4) 2 SWC | 100 Points Open with Army 5
Torg
hmmm thats quite a bit of rules for "linkable/fireteams"… I am hoping to get it right when I play them - but so many things to keep track of - I am sure I will miss something. Sorry to my opponents in advance! lol Oh… I have access to some heavy "card" stock. It's actually more like 2mm / or 3/16" thick it comes in a larger sheet (25"x30").. i have cut some down to ~11.5" x 9" George - I know I mentioned this to you before. anyone want some? I could bring a few sheets if someone wants some. For the most part it will be easier to cut them down before I bring them lol. -d
