james and I got a game in at Red Castle this afternoon.  Decided to do the low vis seize the antennas.  i played my bagh mari list again and he played vanilla nomads.  i forgot he was at PGS on tuesday and saw a good chunk of RD and I game together so he knew kinda what to do.  I won the wip roll but decided to mix it up and take deployment.  he had a pretty nasty list.  his first time using impetuous troops.

so i look at his list and thinking: well, gotta get rid of a lot of pieces to be able to do something here.  6 koalas, 3 smoke sources and a probable intruder.  so my naga is pretty well shut down from doing its usual shenanigans.  
he has first turn and goes after the link team.  i have a decent defensive setup with mine protection and naga sniper has a good shooting spot.  bagh mari sniper and hmg are covering middle firing lanes as well.  so his impetuous smoke guys come out and i beat the F2F but he makes a lot of armor saves.  thats ok cause smoke is the main issue to me lol.  he is a pretty decent player and knows whats up.  brings koala bot around the corner and takes the mine but flames and kills my paramedic bagh mari.  so that brings link down to 4.  we came into a weird rules situation that i looked up and i think we did it correctly but who the heck knows.  so bagh mari have visors.  but in a link of 4 or more they have SSL2.  he puts down white noise on the moira and comes around the corner to shoot at the bagh mari link.  now white noise makes it a zero vis zone for visors, but technically SSL2 has you avoid zero vis modifiers.  i looked it up and that seems correct unless its in a FAQ, but does it still have an effect on ODD?  we decided it didnt which whatever but its a really weird situation i havent came upon before.  intuitively you would think it wouldnt have an effect on the ODD anymore due to white noise but i dont think logically that is correct based on the RAW.  ok so we move on and he shoots at the bagh mari hmg and gets him down.  not good news for me... think thats it and my turn.
down to 8 in the main group.  gotta take out that intruder sniper.  my sniper shoots and wins F2F but he makes all his armor saves and fails guts to get outta line of sight to the link team.  i bring paramedic to do some stupid waste of orders using a command token to move naga, paramedic and a minelayer up the field.  paramedic kills his fellow paramedic bagh mari and then proceeds to kill his hmg bagh mari like a good little stupid paramedic does.  im waaaaay to use to good specialists 'sigh' lol.  i do manage to kill a moran with link teamwhich gets rid of a big piece keeping me back.  bagh mari sniper also gets the moira hmg down but noteworthy that it wasnt dead. then get bagh mari team the hell out of sight of the intruder cause they no longer have SSL2.  use a command token to suppressive field a few guys cause i have one more order to use... might have mixed a little with third turn here dunno.
his second he uses 3 orders to smoke and kill the naga sniper.  he thankfully failed with the intruder to discover the naga with monomines(WAHOOOOOO!!!). also kills the moira with the daktari so yea things going my way now lol.  the last moran desperately tries to kill the sniper but fails to do so and goes down.  zero pops up and walks cloaked and i successfully discover with a regular that had to go out of suppression to do so.  he puts zero in suppressive but Lt Rao sees him and carves him up.  
my second.  bagh mari sniper decides its time to finally put that intruder down and does so.  i get crit happy this turn and kill the intruder and moira both with crits.  also get the last impetuous guy and the daktari with the naga.  then run the pathetic regular paramedic up the table to get 2 of the antennas.  dropped the sikh on the third and he apparently decided he didnt feel like coming in today...
his third:  he starts in retreat and thats the game.
 
so yea second game with bagh mari in the low vis zone is getting me a waaay too favorable impression but they are pretty decent.  4-2 isnt as bad as i thought it would be as generally i move and shoot anyways(or discover, etc).  not having a reliable doc though is concerning so i might need to figure out how to fit that crappy wip 12 doctor in...

so ive seen the full profiles now... and my god previously i always played the proxies before but now i dont think i will ever NOT play them with aleph.  i bet people are drooling over the HMG profile but the more i thought of it id probably only bring that if i have the SWC.  the profile that im drooling over is the mk5 double SMG forward observer and forward deployment with EM grenades.  thats something super unique that profile brings and for 10 points... yea that will be flippin sweet.  all mk1 profiles decreased by 4 points as well which means super cheap.  there has to be something bad about the rules because its bizarre how cheap they are based on the rumors of the rule changes basically making them BETTER...... or they are just making all factions better lol.  but the proxy asura and naga profiles really have me losing my mind about h3n3.

so last night i got a game in with Than.  it was a weird game yet fun as heck.  i got my butt kicked in the end being down to 5 models.  my naga has been failing at his jobs lately even though given golden opportunities.  my first turn he had all eyes down besides lu duan and a haramaki missile launcher.  naga sniper took out lu duan and then the naga monomine went in to go do some damage.  his doctor survived 4-5 rounds of shooting which was frustrating and so did a haramaki(but got him eventually), but finally got the doc on last order to thin his specialist pool(we were playing supremacy although we totally forgot our classified).  his turn he ran impetous bike forward who survived the mine but a haramaki perished.  he moved his bike down the middle and killed the naga with a lot of orders so that made up for the lack of efficiency of the naga in my turn.  got one bike in aro.  he won first round and got one console too.  

second round, this is when things went bad for me.... hmg bagh mari decides its a good time to start shooting at the haramaki.  he's on lower BS now due to not 5 man.  spent 3 turns and didnt kill a single haramaki and only punched 1 wound through on each before they dropped prone.  moved guys forward and seized 2 consoles.  considering i had a 10 order pool it wasnt really the turn i was looking for to get punches through.  this is when the 4-2 bagh mari really kinda sucked.  his next turn he brough rui shi forward and i knew this was going to be bad news for me.  he had a huge order pool as well and just murdered me with rui shi and marksmanship.  killed the naga, 2 regulars and 2 bagh mari i think along with guarda de assalto.  pretty sure he had like 4-5 crits this turn and his dice were just en fuego!   the only positive was he couldnt get an angle on Lt Rao.  but yea bad position for me now...

4 orders.  link is devastated.  looks like its time for a hero.  sikh command walks on behind hacker and the FO bot.  puts both down and steals his console back.  Lt Rao is like 'what the heck' and uses Lt order and finally gets that blasted crazy Rui Shi nightmare down.  i rested my case there.  he brings haramaki over taking aros but making all armor saves like a champ and takes the quadrants.  

cant remember what score is... will update later.  

Update: I thought Than was incorrect about the scoring method and he was.  its whoever has more at end of round is 2 points and 1 for tie.  so think that makes it 5-4.  close game!  we probably should have remembered our classifieds haha

played this silly list against exile yesterday.  didnt really look too much into what it was other than 400 points with a TAG and forgot it was decap.  i thought that was fitting as Tony just died in HSN3(spoiler) and i wont be able to use her after this week so making her the person he goes for just seemed iconic and hilarious!  exile sportin' NCA brought a squalo, aquila, hexa, fusi link with some pain in it(hmg and ML), bolt hacker(didnt realize how dang good those are in a hacking duel!), bulleteer, trauma doc, machinist and a couple of auxilia and dudes pumping orders.  OH and a garuda!!! first time ive been garuda'd!!! its so weird being on the other end of that stick haha.

so we both had our TAGs be our Lts.  awesome.

exile won the pan-o wip off and went first.  i took the lazy side and made him deploy first.  that was important as it allowed me to think of where to put my things.  he had a fusi link on one side with auxilia nearby.  then on other side had the hexa on ground and aquila up saying 'bring it punks' with his bot sitting nearby which struggled with his doctoring quite a bit but did his job in the end haha.  he kept back squalo as he should.  now, our setup was really interesting.  whoever did the board setup i think did a good job this time as it made us think a lot with our interactions.   

i setup thinking about where i was going to put tony to basically bait his squalo up.  my shock army list is quite defensive so im not so scared of hackers really as i have tons of mines and camo markers and repeaters midboard.  i spread the nagas down the middle right side and peacemaker in middle left with his montessa sitting there above him ready to pick off some orders if they come by(which he tried and failed hilariously).  noting the hacker was in the middle near the corner i thought he would bring the squalo to take out tony.  Bagh mari were back middle with sniper looking at aquila but HOPEFULLY outside 32 which would give me a slight range boost over him that he probably wouldnt risk.  minelayer sensor and machinist near tony on the left side.  tony placed behind a building cowering looking down the middle lane.  

NCA first turn:  aquila pops up and takes shots at the sniper.  he was outside of 32 and lucky for me also got shot off while he wasnt in cover!  this is good news for me cause hitting on 18s B2 ARO vs 9s B4 is something id gladly take dice wise in reactive turn.  unfortunately my dice rolled super low and he beat me with one and the poor sniper fell down :( .  he brought the fusi link up to deal with naga issues but spent a ton of orders discovering and getting around the Naga's mine.  think he killed something but cant remember with the fusi link.  maybe a bagh mari as i was down to 3 i think?  i also cant remember but he may have brought on the garuda this turn on the right board edge to apply pressure there.  i know he missed with an hmg round at something with bad dice... anyways, squalo comes chugging down the hall to take on Tony.  Naga hacker was ready and possessed.  he didnt take a wound from Tony but because of that he was able to fail guts and get back outside my hacker range!  blast!  he then brought up the bolt hacker and expelled the demons.  

shock army turn 1:  interesting things really.  the fusi link is something i really had to deal with or they could cause a lot of issues. squalo i had pretty good beat on right now with repeaters and hackers keeping him from shooting most of my things.  aquila is a nuisance i have to take out even though i hate dealing with bs15 straight shots, but i had little choice now that my sniper was gone :( first i use Lt order to shoot with tony at Aquila.  aquila beats all my dice(i keep rolling 10s and he rolls 11s i think like 2-3 straight times or something funny like that in shootoffs against aquila) and puts a wound on Tony.  i try again and am able to put it unconscious yet noted not dead. naga is able to get one of the 2 fusiliers.  montessa nails it with a golden hit on a spec shot on 3 fusiliers, buuuuut he dodges with all 3.  DRATS!  akalis comes on and tries to get behind garuda.  garuda makes his change facing(on a 4?!) on the come-on so that changes everything... come up the side with the dronbot to take down garuda.  then take down one more fusi with a crit shotgun(yet the other one crits me back haha).  not sure much else and probably blurred second turn here.

NCA turn 2:  bring back aquila little palbot!  oh palbot fails 2 times burning through very precious command tokens to get him back up on 3rd attempt.  think aquila fries up poor Rao in this case and breaks my link for good this time.  hexa time.  comes around the side and has to deal with mine i have placed over there protecting a flank.  using a few orders to do so.  then used a ton of orders killing the poor peacemaker which finally works and brings squalo around the corner to take more shots at Tony.  Tony having mimetism is really a godsend here.  he takes one hit but makes his arm save is like peeeeace im taking cover haha.  not sure what else happens.  

Shock army turn 2:  in very weird angle situations i was eyeing in trying to get to his squalo with the naga.  couldnt really get past the hexa and the other side couldnt reallly do without being seen by aquila and being fried in the open.  so i really had to deal with that hexa in not very ideal ways... first i had a regular minelayer on the roof right next to it.  decided to sac him trying to kill it.  nope he gone lol.  i do finish off the fusilier link with i think the akalis or was it the naga and he finished the naga 3rd turn haha.  ugh, my memory is horrid!   anyways i knock down the aquila again with tony.  once again not dead.  think i put a wound on squalo.  machinest was able to somehow kill the hexa mostly cause it wasnt in cover... naga then moved up but i think failed to possess this time and he passed test or something?  or i probably missed idk haha

NCA last turn:  he brings bolt hacker up to deal with naga.  i make 1 bts save from brain blast.  then take it a second time but win f2f immobilizing him(even though he has like bts 6 or something...).  oh he definitely fries the naga minelayer with auxilia here trading in what i think was an unfair trade :P 

Shock army last turn: oh objectives!  those things!  so i FO with dronbot against a downed model for 1.  decide that since squalo is in open and points probably only come from killing it... go big or go home?  bring out Tony for one last hurrah and she downs squalo.  naga data scans squalo for final objective.

 

crazy game really.  lots of really bizarre interactions that were kinda cool.  kinda liked a big game like this as seeing all the toys on the table was pretty cool.  Tony lived to see another day!(well, 1-3 more days anyways hahaha)

 

Tony was def the Lt, not the bagh mari.  picked the wrong bagh mari when making list again :P

so with new points changes decided to slightly modify my ye olde list.  i want to make an asura and marut list next, but man my proxies are going to be sooo much fun to use now!
