who's the HOG for 40k 2015? I missed that :)

Guardian is not really the most convenient shop for me these days - maybe after I get to Wow more often it will be. But typically if I have to have a store order it… I just go online and order it myself… shipped to my PO box. But I will try to drop into nexus this weekend or next. -d

I have gotten the box set … and I have just cracked it open. I have not pulled out the mini's and started assembling anything yet. But I have been thumbing through the rules and reading material online. I am hoping to pull out some proxy mini's and try to learn to play. But with the holidays here its going to be hard to get the time till Jan. Anyhow - I am south of PDX - (hubbard) area… between Canby / Aurora and Woodburn. I'll be open to have a garage learning Infinity afternoon at some point -d

hmm last time I was in that game store in gresham (its been over a year) I think they had some infinity minis.. but again it was very limited. I may have to just play with some proxies and then order online when I know exactly what I want lol. -d

Ok - I am running full on into Infinity… loving everything so far in N3. I have my son and some nephews interested as well - Which leads to the question. Is there anywhere local to purchase mini's? I will have to check next time I am at Guardian - but I do not remember seeing them there. Anywhere else I should be going to shop?… aside from online that is. (greater Portland area). -d

the sideboard idea sounds ridiculously cumbersome for an EVENT that is about having 5 great games. … more stuff to paint, more stuff to carry - and so far there is not nearly enough room as it is on the "side table" for another 500pts of options. I think this is way over thinking the "problems" at OFCC. I really feel like this misses the whole point … of what the OFCC is supposed to be IMO. If your thinking you need a side table so you can tool-up your list for your opponent… I am not sure your in the right event in the first place. Sorry to be pointed - but for real? the OFCC is broken?? are you kidding me? I lose and sometimes win (yeah I know… seriously) and I go to have fun. What I don't need is an additional 10-15 min while myself… or my opponent figures out if they want to change up their list. One list (the one you plan on playing) should be enough for you and your team captain (with filtering from the review group) to play 5 fun games. If it is not enough - your looking for something else. -sorry… all these opinions belong to me. not trying to offend - just finding it silly that this has gone on for 12 pages lol. -d

I once cut a drop pod in half… for a commission (revenant standing on drop pod). Anyhow - I put it all together - and then cut the pod in half with a hack saw… and coping saw(sp) with some help from a band saw. I taped the the pod around a few times just to be sure it wouldn't break at the glued seems. It went pretty quick actually. After the larger portion is trimmed away it's pretty easy to do the detail work with a dremel I am sure. -d

I have a Revenant - I would never consider playing it in a normal game of 40k. Heck - I played my phantom on Black Friday in a Apoc game - and I felt abusive lol.

hmmmm don't have the Escalation book… I guess I need to get that one… -d

Where is the Revenant ok for regular 40k games? lol… it is "broken" because its not intended for "normal" games of 40k-. Further - of course apoc isn't intended for "competitive play"… lol

finally got my box set (ice storm)… hope to open it up and check it out this month lol… ( holding off because it will be a joint christmas gift to my son) \-d

I have also been told I will be taking a 2 week company trip to Chicago the first few weeks of January… but as of yet the exact 2 weeks have not been nailed down yet. Most possibly the 2nd and 3rd weeks - anyhow I may miss the first few weeks of the league. -d

my list had several FW units… it was nice to get to play them. I will admit that my list kinda looked hard… but that didn't pan out in the games I played. I had a FW Eldar - Nightwing, Hornet Squadron (3) and the Wraithseer. I am pretty sure all my opponents had no problem with my army. I was something like 1 win… 1 draw (?) and 3 losses :). The Hornets got lots of talk - but they were simply shot off the table first thing lol. My weekend MVP would have been my Nightwing - but it really didn't dominate games - it was just solid for what it would do. The wraith seer… was really just another wraith lord with a d-cannon lol. The WraithKnight I took always drew all the fire at the start of games… but even that didn't dominate play. I am not sure why FW is the bad guy … I really liked having the chance to play them in an army - especially an event like OFCC where its just about having 5 fun / great games. -d

well I was told I will be going to chicago for 2 weeks in the first part of Jan… so I guess I have to wait till next time… :(

you could either "modify" the tau logo… or super-impose a hammer and sickle over it… :P

I'm torn between trying to do a harlequin themed joint eldar list… or a FW Corsair list… Paint scheme for the harlequins would be dark…gothic DE styled Harlequins. Corsair - DK.Grey (PMS Black 7) /Red (PMS 7559 ish…maybe) /Yellow (more of a golden rod… PMS 130 possibly)… details in bone.. gems in teal/ice blue… Tanks blackish … with white/grey void lines. Just not sure yet - I don't want to match my blue/teal wraith army that I have been doing for a decade lol. -d

I will probably be there by 3:30-4 mostly.
