  1. Any takers on 9th Age? The 1.3 rules just dropped this weekend..
  2. The scene with the droids took place just as the first fighters were taking off to join the fleet before it jumped to light speed, I can easily see the sequence of events going: Yavin Base gets first reports of Rebels fighting on Scarif. Admiral Raddus gets the report and starts readying the fleet. The comms private dashes across the base to give Mon Mothma the news. Fighters and shuttles start taking off. Threepio complains about not being told anything, Artoo beeps something back along the lines of "Well shut up and let's go check it out!" The droids wander over to the nearest shuttle and get taken to the Tantive IV. Once all ships and personnel are in orbit, the fleet makes the jump and arrives at Scarif together. It has to take more than just a few minutes to ready a fleet so there would have been ample time for them to get off the ground I figure.
  3. Saw it again last night and it held up great on the second viewing! I was trying to give it a more critical watch this time around, but didn't really find a lot to criticize! Went home and watched some Rebels afterward and it got me thinking that we'll probably see Casian show up on that show eventually here since he's been with the Rebellion for a while (since he was 6!). Also speaking of Rebels, I noticed the Ghost sitting on the landing pad at Yavin and the "General Syndulla to the briefing room" intercom page during my first viewing, but didn't catch it until the second that the Ghost was flying around in some of the background shots at the Battle of Scarif! I'm hoping during one of the final Rebels seasons we get a view of that battle from the Rebels' crew's perspective...
  4. Ho-ly [big bad swear word]! That one was one fine film that did an amazing job of telling its own story while also boosting up the original trilogy by filling in plot holes and adding awesome backstory. I could see the uncanny valley Tarkin and Leia being sticking points for some people, but I was incredibly impressed by them, particularly Tarkin. I am really looking forward to being able to watch this and New Hope back to back!
  5. I know it's approaching the Holidays and a lot of people might be out of town so I figured I'd get a thread started early... anyone going to be around and possibly up for some 9th Age? Sounds like we might have a 1.3 edition to try out...
  6. If I can't get a 9th Age game, I might be up for some X-COM as well? That or some Mordheim potentially with an Undead list. I'm going to bring my 9th Age stuff and go from there!
  7. I'm looking for a 9th Age game against anyone that wants one! Also looking forward to seeing you all down there for the gift exchange! See here if you're confused by that statement: http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/29425-warhamsters-annual-gift-exchange-dirty-santa-dec-13-2016/
  8. If someone sees Gabe down there (or Gabe reads this, hi Gabe!) try getting the terrain set up and I'll be there as soon as I can... It may be closer to 7
  9. The Mordheim campaign is on holiday so I'm going back to some 9th Age. Gabe, are we still playing?
  10. Hmm, I read that as ""If a characteristic is at its maximum, take the other option or roll again if you can only increase one characteristic." I'll take your reading though!
  11. Sort of... unfortunately my BS cap is higher than my starting value for no good reason though so it'd have to be a special rule like: "If a model receives the option to increase WS or BS and one of the values is already at its maximum, that model may either choose to increase the second value or you may increase any other (that is not already at its racial maximum) by +1 instead."
  12. So does that rule apply to heroes as well? None of my hero models can even equip missile weapons so it'd be nice if they weren't forced to take BS advances once their WS caps. Admittedly they all cap out at 7 or something so it'll be a little while before they get there, but still.
  13. Yikes! 10k sounds pretty crazy, I'll have to check it out! This week was the last week of our Mordheim campaign until we pick up again in January so I'll be playing T9A again next week with another report coming on its heels.
  14. Totally buying a river barge, see you suckers later!
  15. I'm just going to make my rolls in front of my opponent next time... I don't trust this interweb dice rolling...
  16. The thing you just described is usually called a "Square Reader" or "Square" for short. You might have an off-brand one, but that's what they started out being called. I'm excited to not have to bring you cash ever again though!
  17. Bring a credit card really? Do you have a square thing now (aside from yourself ha!)
  18. Ulriczeit 21, 2516 I've started to pick up scraps of the Beastman language from Sarnath. Enough, at least, to understand that on the latest scouting mission they found something interesting. Something of value in some nearby ruins, they said. Something about an ancient Sorcerer's lab filled with treasures? I hope it's food, we finished off the last of the rat meat last night and I'm famished... - Ulriczeit 22, 2516 This morning near dawn we came upon the Sorcerer's ruins, but we weren't the only ones! No sooner than the warband crawled out from behind an ancient monolith, but a rain of arrows came down upon them. One of the first volley took Krulos, the Chieftain, off his feet and sent the rest of the band scrambling for cover. One of the Gors leapt through a window into the ruined lab, but apparently set off some sort of booby trap as an explosion echoed throughout the structure and he was knocked stunned to the floor. Through the smoke, two nimble-footed figured darted out and charged the remaining beasts. It was then that I finally got a good look at our attackers and identified them as Elves! I'd never seen an Elf before today, but they fought with impressive skill and speed, knocking one of the Bestigors to the ground in the initial flurry, but one of their number was taken down in turn with a swing of Rahzar's heavy greataxe. Archers continued to pelt the advancing Beasts with arrows from a defended position, but the Beasts rushed into the ruins and emerged moments later carrying a heavy treasure chest! The Elves tried to scurry out of their hidey-holes to pursue, but were pushed back by the remaining Beastmen as the Shaman and two Gors retreated to safety with the chest. It is now nearing midnight and the Warband is still reveling around the fire, feasting on Elf flesh. Sarnath brought me in what appears to be a charred leg, but the sight of it makes my stomach turn. I must try to sleep... but so hungry... - Ulriczeit 23, 2516 Elves are more animals than people. Living in the forests as they do, really no different than a stag or boar. I couldn't let the meat go to waste. Mother always said, "Clean your plate Marius or no pudding!" - Ulriczeit 24, 2516 Been studying the map we found. Think there might be more treasure up ahead. Maybe more Elves too? Such succulent beasts... - Ulriczeit 25, 2516 Came upon the site I'd marked on the map, but it was infested with more filthy Lizardmen! Sure I recognized one of the skinks as my escaped captor, but he's meat now! Ha! Scaly monsters were ripped to shreds by Kang and the dogs while the rest of their number tried to make off with a treasure chest from one of the huts. Even with the help of their Saurus, the Lizards were no match for us! 19. Good to know! I had asked Joey about this on Tuesday and he'd told me to include the "group xp" as a single entry when calculating Rating. Hooray for vague rules!
