  1. Honestly I'd rather just see a return to BS 4+ for the orks. They were put at 5+ in an effort to stop gunlines being the most effective way of playing them in editions that didn't use modifiers. Putting them at 4+ with no access to the same force multipliers for shooting that IG, SM, Eldar, etc. have access to will already make them worse without removing the core of the game or requiring the faction to work counter to everything else.
  2. Invincible Army is coming Soon™ so just expect a long wait. That said, the faction I own the most of is YJ and they're fantastic. The HI is definitely a plus, but the big thing YJ brings to the table is that they're not bad at anything and still maintain a few "unfair" units like Kuang Shi, Su-Jian, and Tigers. I eagerly await your thoughts as you delve deeper into YJ.
  3. That's the ork answer to everything (even though their 5+ BS actually makes the proliferation of shooting modifiers problematic from a design standpoint).
  4. It's also definitely Codex: Chaos Space Marines.
  5. The last sentence doesn't call out keywords at all, just that it needs to be a Chaos Space Marine squad (keywords are all called out using bold text and/or brackets).
  6. Imperial Agents are so steeped in subterfuge that even they lose sight of what's true sometimes!
  7. I actually leave the jump jets and such off AD troops until a certain stage of painting because of how hard they are to do justice to otherwise.
  8. That Warqueen is boss. Reminds me so much of the female barbarian from D3. I'm psyched for the demon book, especially if the nid book is any indicator!
  9. It's unfortunate that Alaitoc furthers the "don't bring ork shooting" of the current game with Conceal and Hemlock stacking. Still, I'm glad they're rocking a cool trait (if anyone should have the -1 it should be Alaitoc).
  10. Naked-sushi table is a go then!
  11. There are quite a few ways to speed up your play with most of the conventions being organizational in nature. Generally these come down to getting your tokens and such ready during your opponent's turn, but the most important thing I see people failing to do is to plan your attack before your turn begins. It's easy to get loss in your opponent's flow/the flow of conversational play, but in a tournament the most respectful thing you can do is have your [big bad swear word] planned out. With huge order pools, I tend to ignore contingency plans and just go with a general strategy; a sorta macro VS micro discussion. When you have a bunch of tools at your disposal the overall value of each tool is lessened as are the problems caused when they're killed off. As long as you're keeping important details such as range bands and visors up and running, it doesn't really matter who is alive. Troops are a resource and should be viewed as such if you're trying to speed things up. Don't agonize over each model's facing/activation or you'll miss the forest for the trees. Instead of having a perfect web of AROs, focus more on just having AROs in every direction. With that kinda list, you can pretty much always Alert your way out of a surprise and likely be fine with the trade given the total number of resources you have at your disposal. I had a whole thing to say about muscle memory and the concept of winning VS being good at the game, but it's not super pertinent to your question so I'll drop it. The useful detail is that playing the list more is definitely important to being faster which is kinda the point of rote memorization as a whole .
  12. Is this purposefully different from the ITS standard as only LI eliminates all the uses of strategic use while standard ITS just pops the -2 orders.
  13. It's people like you that give us Hunting Party!
  14. Also Teutonic Knights, Wallace, Neko, Kornak, and Asawira. Biggest problem with this sorta place is you need to be within eight inches of the nearest non-intersecting line. Damn circles!
  15. Hey Yarb, I definitely enjoyed our game (it was 30 boyz, BTW)! Something to remember is that low-point games tend to skew results a lot harder than the 1500–2000 range so getting tabled would've likely been the result no matter what there. Yes, but grenades and pistols are different. You can fire every non-pistol/grenade weapon you have OR all pistols OR throw a grenade (one grenade per unit). All the SM transports are pretty solid outside of the Drop Pod (seems too expensive for what it provides). I personally like Rhinos as they give you a little bit of security from alpha strikes which is important in low-point games, but they all have their uses.
  16. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be taking a last minute trip early next week so I won't be in the state on Tuesday. We'all have to raincheck that game, Yarb!
  17. Was thinking about it, but now I'm in for at least week one.
  18. Yarb! We should play next week! About the list: looks fine to me, but I don't know much about Spess Mahreens

    ITS Season 9

Yep, I hear set lists where there's nothing you can do to swap them around are pretty far from the garbage that was formations .
  20. That's where the powerhouse that is the Rasyat comes in! Diplomatic Exploding Bitchslap forever!
  21. Mortarion's save is better than Magnus' against anything without a save modifier/mortal wounds (Mort: 83% Mag: 77%) and only a little over 0.02% worse against anything with a -1 modifier or worse. I'd call that a pretty good upgrade over Magnus without going full 7th Ed.
  22. Cool stuff! Quick note: there's a typo for Rescue on the main menu.
  23. Yeah, that was what I was thinking.
  24. Multiple armies having access to combos that they don't natively have doesn't exactly make it a good idea though. Maybe I'm a little overly cautious about allies due to them not being a great experience, competition wise, in other games not to mention the internal balance issues for certain units whose only saving grace is having no competition for their slot (less Yuan Yuans in PanO and more McMurrough in QK). That said, I do think SoF can add a little spice to smaller events and I look forward to trying them out. At least CA can finally have a Warcor this way!
  25. The Fraacta are probably my favorite models to paint in Onyx. Lookin' good!
