  1. I will buy the Hacker! The HMG would be my first choice, but I am way too late.
  2. For beginning games, I like a grunt, hide the LT tactic. He is cheap and you can place him in a hard to kill spot and let it go. Yes, it is a cautious tactic, but players are still learning the game.
  3. Okay, I based these models with Top Down Terrain bases. I have six 28mm bases left before I make another order. The Hunzakut, Sekban, and Tariqa have dibs on the remaining bases, but I have my eye on those Djanbazan....... and probably a few more models rattling around the basement. 4. Jay took three out with one mine. It was awesome.
  5. i played Mutts wrong tonight. They are PH 12, not 10. They are so much better than I thought.

  7. League was great tonight. I played two games with my Haqq: One against Jay and the other against Justjoking. Jay beat me soundly. I had a good first turn, but the second turn went south and I had little to counter his prone Ninja on the high ground. In the second game, I let my Mutts go wild. One rambo'd across the table eating rounds, making saves, going dogged, and chain rifling a Lazik, a Ghulam HMG, and a plain Ghulam before going down/ In both games, the Hunzakut did well. I like camo models with infiltration. One with sniper rifle is a cheap, beast.
  8. 200 points. 4 SWC It is finally time to take Lts. and Command Tokens. Scenario: Front Mine! Each player places five mines in the opposing player's half of the table, outside their deployment zone before deployment. No matter who places the mine, the mines start the game as hostile to both forces. 1) The side who deactivates or destroys the greatest number of mines will score a league point Note: Causing a mine to detonates with a troop who suffers a wound will not count for scoring purposes. 2) The player with the model the farthest into his opponent's half of the table will score a league point. Bring food. Bring a friend.
  9. Another great night. The hall was packed. There were cookies. Thank you Jake, Joel, Ian, Evan, Rowan, Darron, Justin, Jay, and Pete!

  12. Inferior Infiltration. I came across this rule looking up the Daylami. Grunts have the rule, as well. Troops will Inferior Infiltration must deploy in the enemy half of the table. In order to do this, they must pass an Infiltration Roll (PH-3). The negatives stack with an scenario negatives. If the model fails the roll, the model must start on the edge of the player's house own deployment zone. The ability is nice for the Grunt, he starts with a light shotgun and a heavy flamer that can be inches away from enemy models and significantly hinder the approach to objectives, but there is only a 35 percent chance of success. A Daylami has Inferior Infiltration and Limited Camouflage for 8 points and .5 SWC with a Panzerfaust and Light Shotgun or 10 points and no SWC for a Rifle and Light Shotgun.
  13. So a bit ago, I bought a Daylami somebody had assembled. I never really looked at the model, but when I looked at today, the model had issued. The panzerfaust did not fit on the shoulder. I took the model apart and saw the issue. The panzerfaust arm did not fit on the shoulder. I had to carver the male and female parts of the arm very carefully and slowly until the two parts fit. The mold for the models is just bad. This summer, I made a promise to myself not to buy any more old models. This is the reason why. The new models fit so well. The older ones have issues. The Muttawi'ah all needed a bit of gap fill, but nothing too bad.
  14. The spray soaked in well and evenly. I sprayed a second coat for good measure. Later, I will hit the back side.
  15. Okay, it is time to break this out from my other thread. Mimetism: Mimetism is camouflage lite. The model is hard to see, so there is a -3 to BS, WIP, or PH against the subject with Mimetism. However, the model cannot go into a marker state. You never have to discover a model with mimetism.
  16. Following Top Down Terrain's advice, I went to Home Depot and picked up a few cans of Quick Color spray paint. They are 97 cents a can. That seems to be a bargain. I came home and sprayed his Top Down Bases. I will let you know how it works. I am thinking camo green bases with yellow or orange highlights.
  17. Models is the Assembled, waiting to be based pile.... Naffatun, female, old version Al Hawwa, sniper Jannisary, Rifle Hunzakut, male, sniper Odalisque, Spitfire 6 Ghulams, all rifle, 3 old, 3 Red Veil Govad Sniper Govad Missile Launcher Govad, Hacker Govad, Rifle Kwararij, Rifle Al Fasid, HMG Zayedan, Rifle Tuareg, Sniper Ragik, Rifle Muttawi'ah, female, jammer. Muttawi'ah, chain rifle Muttawi'ah, male jammer Muttawi'ah, boarding shotgun Daylami, Panzerfaust Asawira with spitfire Bashi Bazouk Models to be assembled 4 Sekban Ragik , with Rifle Tariqa Hunzakut, female with GL
  18. So I may have over 34 Haqq models.......... I assembled an Odalisque with a Spitfire and Muttawawi'ah female with a jammer. The Mutt's arm is tiny. It cannot be pinned. I hope it stays.
  19. I am back to assembling tonight. The Hunzakut's arms fit together, but there was a bit of flashing in the arms. The Snake Ghulam fit together well, but the arms needed a good deal of flashing, especially the gun arm. The Jannisary is problematic. The mold seems a bit corrupted. The sword arm took a fair amount work. Both arms have rough excess metal. They are gun arm will not fit into the arm socket the way depicted in the photos. I tried to trim it. The gun is canted down. It is a realistic pose. Now, I need to fill the very small gap.
  20. It is played at Glimpses in Sherwood. The owner says it is the number one game played at the store.
  21. True Grit - The Remake. 7/10. I would hope they would clean up and tighten the original movie, but instead the movie is changed in multiple places. Bridges is good, but he is not John Wayne. The girl is better and more like-able than the original. It could have been better.
  22. Aleph loans its troops out to Yu Jing and Pan-O. Pan-O's Neo Capitaline get Garuda and Devas. The Pan-O Shock Army gets Nagas. ISS for Yu Jing gets Sophotects, Dakinis, Yudbots, and Garuda.
