Okay, can I take hyperios AA platforms in the siege vanguard list? if so, what slot do they take, and where are the most updated rules? And since it's up to TO if i can mix clan raukan with siege vanguard, can I at OFCC?

Have they fixed lucius pattern drop pods? Do they let you assault out of them now or are they still just a really expensive drop pod that does nothing extra?

First off, I don't have time to look right now (i'm doing this on my phone) when do we have to have our stuff in to sign up for OFCC this year? Team D is determined to make the cross-country flight and play in the event! Secondly, can we I take the Siege vanguard list from FW, and use the clan Raukan (sp?) rules in it? Taking the Iron hands artifacts and such? If someone can just link me or point me to the OFCC sign-up and information, that'll be enough. Yeah. I always liked my megaboss tankface Da Crusha. I guess he just wouldnt be the warlord, which is fine. I generally use the bully boyz for that detatchment anyway, only way to make meganobz good in anything bigger than three guys, make 'em fearless!

Hey, it's me, Xavier/Sean. Moved to Ohio to do my PhD, and it's dismal. THe gaming is dissapointing, and there is NO 40k out here. Evidently it's "too expensive" or something, sounds like lack of dedicaiton to me. Regardless, I miss Ordo, game nights, and the people immensely. All of us do. I just wanted to reach out and take this opportunity to say that Ordo is pretty much the best 40k community I've ever been a part of, and that is almost entirely due to you guys, everyone in it. Thank you. I'll keep trying to play out here, We'll try and make it to OFCC. Thanks everyone, sincerely. I'm gonna try and make some more posts, and slap down some lists and catch up on all the 40k stuff, I feel out of date. On another note, since I dont want this to be totally not about 40k. Is there any way to accurately represent Ork Speed Freaks accurately that is also effective in the current environment? When I played about nine months ago, Trukks were very death-trapy, and seemed to do more harm than good to regular trukk boys. Thanks!

I'll suggest it. THe problem is, it's a small college town, and I've asked the various peeps that are into wargames, and they dont have any armies. THe biggest issue is all the old players who played 40k, seem to have lost interest in the game when it started releasing books and supplaments like crazy, and fliers and lords of war seem to have ruined it in this small meta. i ask and it's always "yeah i used to play, then fliers and titans and stuff in regular games.. i cant keep up with it anymore... etc. I'll try that though.

Hey everyone. Been dealing with health problems and some work overload here, but surviving. The titular blues are based on the fact that literally no one here plays 40k. ;_; I'm a very sad panda. If this is going to be the situation here for the next four or five years, I may sell off my 40k stuff and get out of the hobby. I need the money and I am using none of it. I can't even get up interest for a small league, like 400 to 1000 points or so, as it is SO expensive now to even buy a single unit of infantry and a rhino or something, that people are deathly afraid of touching the game. These guys can barely afford cheaper wargames like warmachine. ANy ideas of ways I can get people into the game short of just giving them all models? xD

Man I miss you guys. Ohio is nice, but there is ZERO 40k here. ;_; I'm finally settled into my new place (much nicer) and working on my PhD, but I'm sadly out of the loop for 40k. I just wanted you guys (those that care) to know that I'll be around more on the board and posting lists. I wanna try and get some of the guys at the game store in this area to play some 40k, maybe I can start something, who knows? As for my ideas, I was considering what the best way to represent looted tanks would be in the new Ork Codex. I have always wanted to do an Armored Krumpany, and have it actually be effective and fun. For those of you in the Orky know, that's an Orky armored Company. Nothing but a bunch of battle tanks of all stripes and shapes, as well as maybe some mechanized infantry. Any thoughts, ideas?

Okay, so, the void shield fortification from stronghold assault says... that any shooting attack that originates from outside the void shield zone and targets something within the void shield zone, hits the shield first. So here's a question. Does the target 'within the void shield zone' have to be COMPLETELY within, or does it just have to touch the void shield zone? it does not specify.

So.. is the league even happening this week?

It's a simple question. How effective are empty drop pods with deathwind missile launchers as board controll and turrets, considering DPs now count as moving at combat speed when they arrive, allowing you to fire the pie plate right away. And no, I'm not dead. :-p

I've heard it's in IA 9 and IA 10, I can't find it in either. Where are the most updated rules for that thing?

Alright, I'm putting together a Fire hawks army, entirely with models that I already own. But, I'm gonna put the money I'm saving into the bases. The Fire Hawks were renowned for leaving the worlds they fought on a burned, and ruined mess. So what I want are bases that have a sort of "sorched Earth" feel to them. I found a few lava bases, and that'll do in a pinch, but I want something less lava and more "burnt desolation". Anyone have any tips?

Silly sounding, I know, but bear with me. The Comm's Relay says that you have to have an un-engaged model within 2" of it. The Automated Hyperion turrets are artillery pieces that dont require a firer. They are unengaged models, do they count? Can they man the Comm Relay?

They can trade their jump packs for a drop pod. it says they get it for free. Does that include free upgrades? I doubt it, but I thought i'd check.

If you buy space marine sentry guns, and deepstrike them, can then shoot the turn they hit?

I know, I know, it's been ages. Question though. Are forge world army lists like the Ork dread mob list actually legal in stuff like tournies? They reprinted the rules for them updated for the new stuff, So I was wondering how these lists are viewed.

This is getting old. Another work situation is preventing me from attending. Next week I'm gonna call in sick if I have to. Does anyone want to play 40k next week? I'd like to have a game set up.

I will not be able to make it ,but Jeff and alex CAN. They will need a ride, possibly from the local bacon merchant. Yeah get this.. my university changed my class times.. i'm teaching on Saturday, and ONLY saturday. I teach for like six hours each Saturday. I hate being a part time professor sometimes, I end up with all the crap no one else wants.

Work is going to keep me away this week sadly. I'm starting to get tired of the "surprise department meetings" this new department head enjoys having. We will be there for the terrain day next week, and for the Apoc game. Also, Joel, could you let me know the different books that the forge world missile launchers are in, i know there's different ways to take them, if you could tell me what books the different versions are in, i can pick those books up.
