  1. Hey all! Been playing this list a lot lately, and it does really well. It tends to overwhelm opponents, and presents the problem of there being no 'central' unit for the enemy to focus on. The Mek Gunz being the only one really, but there are only certain things that can tackle them. They Tend to be in the middle of the army, so assaulting them is difficult at best, which is their one real weakness. What do you guys think of this both as an OFCC list and as an overall list? And yes, every vehicle in the army is scratch built, as per usual. 2. I agree Chex. I think a move away from massive units and deathstars is good. I like it when armies have a variety of units. Just makes the game more dynamic, less "well, i need to deal with that one thing". Though yes, I dont miss parking lots either. As for ranged D. It's in the game, so we should tr and see what good it will do. It will lower the numbers of adamantine lances, which is good in my book. I like super-heavies but I think the plethora of Imperial Knights hurts the game as a whole. As well, the necron book (the most un-fun book to play against, IMO) was designed with the fact that the enemy will be fielding D weapons on regular units. I say Necrons are un-fun to play against mostly because without D weapons it's frustratingly difficult to kill even the most basic infantry out of that list. So WE have to accept that this is where the game is going, for better or worse. Might as well figure out what the good points are.
  3. Cracking the whip myself for Team Diversity. We'll be paid up by the end of the night come hell or high water.
  4. Well, the junkka is just a transport. AV 12/12/10, with a turret str 6 ap 3 flamer, a heavy flamer, grot riggers, open topped fast, with a ram. it's not a focal point of the army. the strength of the army is there is no focal point. everything is a threat, everything has a job to do and they often over-lap. there's no death star, no 700 point unit, nothing to focus on. I've done well against eldar, tau and dark eldar so far.
  5. Yeah that's true. My formatting is weird. I know it looks fine. heh. I also meant how well do you think it would stack up in a competitive atmosphere. I'll edit the first post.
  6. I'm aware. I've heard (at other message boards) it argued that by being inside a vehicle, it would apply. Was just throwing that out there.
  7. I Dont think that you get it shooting at a unit that contains one, honestly. or a vehicle with one inside. It seems like a very poorly thought-out rule to me, honestly.
  8. Alright, here's what I got so far. It's served me well in several games, and has a rash of threats that overwhelm surgical strikes. The big mek goes with the mega kannons, the mega nobz either go in their truck, or in the mekboy junkka. LOTS of cool modeling opportunities too. Follows adepticon rules, one allied detachment, and anything from forgeworld is 0-1. Let me know what you think. 9. yeah, in the IA 8 it states you can take a junka as a dedicated transport for a big mek. now... it can take a KFF. does that KFF give a cover save or an invulnerable save? O_o since it says "units within 6" gain a 5+ cover save" just like the OLD KFF. so does it go off models and give an invulnerable save.. or UNITS and give a cover save?
  10. You may have played IG Fluger, but we all know you just saw really small blood axes in 'umie uniforms. No Ork player can deny da boyz.
  11. The IA 8 says it's an elite, but can also be taken as a dedicated transport for a big mek. In dreadmob it says elite, but I guess that's just in that list. On the spreadsheet, it says elite, but it says to refer to IA 8. So can i take a junka as a dedicated transport for a big mek?
  12. how to be less Orky Fluger. Orks are bad list raters... "Dis is too Umie!" "Dis iz too elfy!" etc etc
  13. Are there 40k OFCC list building guidelines? Do we just use the adepticon guidlines? How many datasheets, how many detachments, etc? Is there something standardized, or is it all on case by case? IF this is posted somewhere, I haven't been able to find it.
  14. Damn I miss running the winter league at WOW. :( I can't wait to see all of you guys at OFCC. Everyone except Chappy.... okay.. even Chappy too.
  15. No. No space clown cars. Also hi torg, Cant wait to see the army!
  16. Thank you pax, but that doesn't really help, sadly. I'm asking which models are LEGAL and which are not? are we going with any specific guildelines? Can I just take whatever, or are certain things okay and others not for OFCC?
  17. Okay, one last question... what parts of IA vol 8 is legal? if i wanna take a mekboy junka as a dedicated transport for my big mek, can i, or does it have to be taken as an elite slot? can i take gun trukk squads? does the stuff in IA 8 have to have been reprinted at some point elsewhere in order to be usable? can i find a list somewhere? are we going by adepticon's rules? fluger? anyone who plays orkz know? I want a list that's usable at other events, not just OFCC. i know most stuff in columbus uses adepticon's guidelines. please help, thanks.
  18. Pax: True, but their BASE type is skimmer. I view that like a flying monstrous creature, it's base type is MC, not flier. These little guys are fliers, and all fliers use flier bases. The skimmers that CAN be fliers are skimmers. The fliers that can be skimmers, that have hover, are still fliers and on flier bases.
  19. I'll have to check, but I think (my memory is spotty at best) that if a unit is a flying vehicle, it has to use the flier base and stand. either way you could CHOOSE to use the flier base/stand, if you want to benefit from the increased LoS (but suffer from increased exposure). Though they may come with skimmer bases, using a flier, with shrouding no less, on a skimmer base would lead to all kinds of weird LOS and cover situations.
  20. yeah i know xD. 400 points for a stompa is madness. so how exactly does he work as a stompa. is ti literally just him +300 points and you get him in the stompa? so 400 points for a stompa?
  21. Mekboss buzzgob's warlord trait states that dreads and kanz near him count as "scoring and denial' units. I assume that means nothing in 7th edition, yes?
  22. I was doing siege vanguard.. but i got a cool cool idea for a killbursta battle tank made out of a freaking looted monolith... soooo i'm doing this now! Gork and Mork have inspired me, i cannot deny their power.
  23. Okay, I'm trying to put together an ork armored company type list, lots of fun. now, in IA 8, there's a bunch of ork stuff like gun trukks and the like, that say they can be taken as part of an ork list as this or that force org slot. Now, the question is, there are updated versions in the dreadmob faq on the FW website, since i have an updated version, can i take them as part of the ork list? can i take gun trukks and heavy tracks and big tracks and supa-kannons and stuff? Fluger? Do you know? anyone else?
  24. OKay. I have IA 8, with the original rules for him, but I have no idea where to find his updated rules, as I cannot find them in the FW FAQ page. Am I missing something?
