I’m not a Member (yet) but I’d like to do this at the Clubhouse, and take advantage of the terrain stock. Are there any frequent attendees who can suggest a date & time for a drop-in Gaslands game?

Well, I haven't actually been to the Clubhouse in about two years since, y'know, the world unpleasantness started, but I'm ready to get back into the mix! I can't make tomorrow, but I'd love to show up next Tuesday (3/22) to push some cars around the wasteland if there's interest.

Not sure whether I was around or if this happened - but I have been keeping my gaslands case in my car - I tend to attend the clubhouse on Tuesday game nights, and would definitely be down for a quick refresher game sometime.  I will have to work around my dungeonbowl league schedule, but that should be fairly easy.

Great was waiting for this post! I want to ask, how does everyone feel about adding my Hobby Support event being this Thursday? I would like to do it 4-7ish. Nothing needed; maybe some primer would be excellent; I can provide paint but not a lot. I really have no idea what attendance would be or what to expect. I want to do it this Thursday and Next, and every 2 weeks before each of my future events.

In addition: I could make my event just like any other game system, $5 dollars or membership, first is free.

Sounds Great!  I wasn't sure what location you were thinking for the hobby nights- Make a post in that night's thread - here for Thursday night the 10th -  Crossposting to the tournament's thread, or making a new thread for all of the hobby nights lumped together would be great.

Standard game night fees should apply - which is to say if you're just hanging out and not playing anything - no dues are required, as long as there's space.

It looks like you already have all 16 places full. Is it too late to get in this tournament?

I believe we currently have a wait list in case of any no-shows - but we're trying to keep the numbers firm at 16 this time - just to let us vet the format, etc.  I'll let @Burntheemokidsping you with info about a wait list situation, if you're interested.

Please excuse my jumping onto this thread, but I’m extremely interested in finding a Gaslands session to join. Not a lot of practical experience with it, but I have the rules (Reloaded) and about three dozen vehicles in various states of paint & modding. Hoping to find similarly-minded nomads in the wasteland…

Welcome!  Hope you're staying Shiny and Chrome!

Where are you based at @Nation - if you're in the Portland area (which I'm guessing since you found us), we had some pretty fierce racing going on back in the before times, at the Ordo Clubhouse.  We've still got plenty of terrain, etc, and I'm sure we could lure some drivers out of hiding.

I'd be happy to get a refresher game in sometime - I'm typically at the Tuesday Game Nights at WOW, but can make other times and places work as well.  Gaslands has been on my list to get back into the rotation, so thanks for posting up!

  12. Greetings, Esteemed Ordo Fanaticus Champions and Members,

I come before you with somewhat grim tidings, in what, I expect, we all see as a fairly grim time.

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, our membership rolls have remained very strong, but we did have to close our game night events for a period of time. Since reopening our attendance and subsequent earnings have definitely dropped.  The inability to reliably host an OFCC style event has also hurt both our yearly earnings and participation in the club at all levels.  This has been a concern for the Senate, but we’ve assured that the desire to get together and play games hasn’t lessened, just our ability to do so.  I wouldn’t think any special effort is required to bring this to your attention, - we all have heard far too many pitches about ‘these trying times - However….

    The Rent is Going up

In January, the Senate received notice that the rent for our clubhouse space is increasing significantly.  The question of whether or not to try and maintain the clubhouse space has been raised.  Closing doors at the clubhouse would cause a significant change in the identity of Ordo Fanaticus.   After much deliberation, the Senate has committed to keeping Clubhouse open.  To do so,  we’ve decided to implement the following steps to overcome the shortfall we are now facing.

    More Game Nights
If you are unaware, we host weekly game nights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, as well as roughly every other Saturday.  We have been doing so for most of the last year, and intend to continue doing so as long as we have members interested in attending.  Making sure we have ample space for members to play and feel comfortable continues to be one of our primary goals in maintaining the Ordo Clubhouse.

    Dues are going up
For the first time in our history, we are increasing the cost of both Game Night Dues and our Yearly Champion Memberships.  Starting on March 1st, pricing for Yearly Champion dues and Game Night Fees will be increasing as follows:

    Game Night Dues

Member Game Night Dues: $8 - your first night is always free

Warlord Game Night dues: $3  - punch cards will be available for $30

    Championship Prices

    Warlord $50  - $3 game night dues

    Emperor $160 - $0 game night dues

All of the current benefits will remain the same including:
Expanded storage space on your forum account
Access to the Bits Collection Exchange
    Access to the Lending Library
    Reduced Pricing for Terrain rental
Reduced Pricing for Event Space rentals
And more…. See full Details here

If you’ve already purchased your dues for the year, consider yourself a recipient of an Early Bird pricing model.  We won’t be asking you to upgrade to the full cost this year, although you will be welcome to do so.   If you feel like you need to save some money, I’d recommend getting your dues paid before the increase.

    New Membership Level

Additionally we will be rolling out a new membership level- Imperator Champions for $225 yearly.  This will initially be limited to 10 members.  In addition to all  of the benefits of an Emperor championship - Imperator Champions will be able to reserve one table at game nights, ensuring they’re never turned away for lack of space, and they can obtain access to the clubhouse for private gaming use up to 6 times a year.  (Scheduling and approval process required)

    More Small Events
Additionally, Ordo will be undertaking an effort to increase our utility as a space for events and tournaments, as well as our ability to rent out Ordo’s terrain collection for events and tournaments.    If you would be interested in organizing anything like this, please reach out to me or any of our Senators to make plans.

    How can you help?
Thanks for reading this far. If you’ve got ideas, plans or events you’d like to see happen in our local community, Ordo would love to help make them happen.   We have a wealth of experience and infrastructure when it comes to running events, tournaments, hobby days, etc., and we’re always happy to help see events succeed.   Senate membership is also always open to club members in good standing, for those that wish to seek an active role in the organizing and planning that is required to keep Ordo Fanaticus functioning.

Additionally , a donations page is being added to our store for both one time and monthly payment subscriptions, under the title of Ordo Fanaticus Legacy Preservation Sponsorships.  If you think that donating a portion of your hobby budget ‘For the Good of the Order’ is a way you’d like to help see us thrive, we’d welcome your fiscal participation.   In the short term, these funds will be used primarily to make sure we are able to keep the clubhouse space open and meet our current expenses.  When increases in Champion memberships and game night dues have achieved our expenses goal, any extra funds obtained via this fund will be used for clubhouse improvements and beautification, or community building efforts in local stores and clubs.

    Thank you for your attention,
Go in good health and good gaming
For the Good of the Order
