  1. Hello there, Just wanted to post this in case anyone else lives in the north county and has scheduling difficulties getting down to DTG to play Warhammer 40k and would like to play. I live in the Birch Bay area and can easily host 40k games in my pole barn. Cushioned matting where you stand, I have suitable tables, realm o' battle boards and even some terrain. Plus, armies. If anyone wants to schedule a game please feel free to PM me here on these boards or email me at rexornal@yahoo.com Stay safe, don
  2. Hello, Edited my post above, sorry for straying off-topic sir Stay safe, don
  3. Hello there, Lucius pattern drop pod - I think these are the most-recent rules: So by these rules, it looks like it's dedicated in Apocalypse games; otherwise a separate Fast Attack. FAQ from Forge World: Q. Is the Lucius drop pod the only dedicated transport the dreanoughts can take (so no regular drop pod for the non-contemptor dreads?) A. The Lucius Pattern Dreadnought Drop Pod is a dedicated transport vehicle for Dreadnought, you can't put Dreadnoughts in other drop pods. Q. What is the deal with the Lucius drop pod? Does the dreadnought have to disembark the turn it arrives or can it remain embarked? If not, why have the assault vehicle rule? A. Dreadnought may choose not to disembark from the Lucius Drop Pod. They may not assault on the turn the drop pod enters play but, as the drop pod is an assault vehicle, if they choose to disembark on a subsequent turn they may assault the turn they disembark. Q. With regard to the Lucius drop pod, if you remain embarked, can the dreadnought be targeted and what is the effect of destroyed or explodes results on it in the subsequent turn (I gather shaken/stunned are the same as for other passengers nut correct me if wrong) A. The Dreadnought cannot be targeted as it is still embarked on the Drop Pod. So, you would need to destroy the Drop Pod, before being able to target the Dreadnought. If the Lucius dreadnought drop pod is wrecked with the Dreadnought inside, the dreadnought takes no damage, but the wreckage counts as difficult terrain. So, in order to move out, it would need to make a difficult terrain test. If the Drop Pod explodes, then it takes the Strength 4 hit on its rear armour. With regards to your question regarding the Deredeo dread itself, take the missile launcher if you're gonna pony up for the points sink; if I recall you'll have your own Tau 'bot to play with: always hits side armor, doesn't need LOS and can shoot at a different target than the 'cannons. The 'cannons have sundering I think, too and take the torso-mounted heavy bolters and you'll have some proper dakka, eh? If you don't want the missiles take the invulnerable-boosting saving throw thingiemabobber and plop this guy near termies to boost their saves. Stay safe, don
  4. Hello there, Chapter House Studios appears to be no more; website is still up but they're auto-refunding monies and not taking orders. Fallout Hobbies' webstore is up and running: http://www.fallouthobbies.com/store Stay safe, don
  5. A company that I'm trying out... http://www.davesbaggagetrain.com/ So far really easy communication and pricing seems pretty reasonable for what I'll be using it for. Really hard to find affordable stuff in this category, it seems. I hope you like your Shogun movement trays! Stay safe, don
  6. Hello there, I do not play Infinity so my apologies if I'm off-base. I thought that sci-fi skirmish-type terrain is used in the game, so wanted to give a "heads up" that a Kickstarter is starting soon on some terrain: https://www.facebook.com/Battle-Systems-242636009156445/timeline/ I am not affiliated with Battle Systems in any way, shape or form. I purchased their dungeon stuff for Pathfinder and it's awesome. There is no Kickstarter listed yet; thus the Facebook link. I was going to post this in "tempting Kickstarters" but don't know if I could since there's technically not a Kickstarter yet. Stay safe, don
  7. Tri-cities as in Pasco, Kennewick, Richland right?
  8. Hello there, If you're going to be changing up the pommel anyways, do me a favor and try this before you do: * Take your existing pommel and put a green wash over it. Like Biel-Tan Green wash or Athonian Camoshade or the other green wash (all Citadel, I think that's the pants I saw in your pic) See if that gives you a kind of off-metallic, kinda dingy / rusty look. I do that over bronze for my 40k Ork army and really like the look it gives. Again, only if you're changing up the pommel anyways. Stay safe, don
  9. new titan heads, too http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AT/blog/blog.jsp?_requestid=992175&mobile=false

  11. (Again, please note that if I recall correctly the gift certificate is for 10 folks, most gear included except air refills and maybe paintballs... anyhow, dropped it off so Jayne_Cobbb will have all the deets)
  12. work on Tuesday :( but i have like 2 months off coming up...
  13. (and not trying to hijack... don't forget there's a Ziploc baggie in the back of DTG with your post name on it... believe Thousand Sons?)
  14. Hello there, The gift certificate was dropped off today. Looks like it's a pass for 10 folks to play, everything but I think air refills and markers or something like that is listed on it. Read it for specifics and hope everyone has fun! Stay safe, don
  15. Jayne_Cobbb, I will put an envelope with the gift certificate in it down at DTG for you to pick up. It will have "Jayne_Cobbb" written on the outside. Thanks so much for accepting the team lead role in this, I appreciate it. Would love to hear that the gaming group got good use out of the gift certificate! It'll be down there in the next couple of days, if not today. Stay safe, don
  16. Hello there, Inquiring as to how regularly one must play in order to participate in the campaign? Once a week? Once a month? Thanks and stay safe, don

  18. Hello there, I agree with earlier posts, especially pretre's post... when I read your post I immediately thought that you should try Dark Angels. Anyhow, my two cents: Attack bikes with heavy bolters and multi meltas - I like them, but then again I play Dark Angels and thus have some neat units to have them close to Land speeders in all their forms - super fun to play and just hose stuff. I'm a fan of the typhoon missle launchers / heavy bolter combos for the Ravenwing and squadrons of those put out hellacious rates of fire The land raider spear head formation pros and cons - totally agree with Lord Hanaur. I know some folks opt for a techmarine inside the "main" one as well Assault marines in full 10 man squads - I personally take 5-man squads and generally run an IC with them for fun; for example, I pop a jump pack on a chaplain-type and have that group jump around and bash stuff. But like WestRider stated, not an impressive unit Scout bikes grenade launchers or not - grenade launchers on Ravenwing Black Knights are more fun for me Scouts in either form - love taking sniper rifle / missile launchers in 5-man squads and getting them in ruins or something to just pick at stuff Mass tactical squads 10 man squads - love 10-man squads and usually run them to take advantage of the 2 weapon options Bikes with non grav weapons - again, I use Ravenwing so love the non-grav weaponry that comes with them Whirlwinds - used to use them way long ago, don't use them currently Predators either way - annihilator pattern is cheaper anti-armor than some other options out there; destructor pattern is usually my choice just for more dice rolls and I leave the anti-armor to other, faster units Vindicators - too cumbersome of a weapon for my playstyle and the vagaries of war often times do not lend themselves to everything lining up for its cannon to make a big difference when you need it to Storm talons - would be a good option but don't use them with Dark Angels. However, I am a fan of the Dark Angels' flyer choices so not a huge loss And mass terminators - Deathiwing Knights wallop stuff; regular terminators are a bit costly unless you just go for broke and stuff them en masse onto a target then the storyline is just epic for ya Contemptor dreads are super nasty - imagine dual Kheres pattern assault cannons and the missile launcher. Absolutely tear stuff up, even in an anti-air role. Plus the model is cool in my opinion You should really try Dark Angels, I think you'd have fun. Lots of flexibility from a "fun" perspective on what you can bring and it's really enjoyable to tinker with all their various options. Stay safe and hope it helped, don
  19. Jayne_Cobbb, If you've been at Go Big this summer, would it be acceptable to you if I just gave you the gift certificate and then you can take it from there? I have it at work but pretty sure it's a gift certificate for 10 folks to kit up and have a game. That sound okay? Not to sound bad but I know I'm not going to use it and again, would rather y'all have a fun time. Eli: don't worry bud, you'll be back from your adventures soon enough. You're not missing out. Because, if you look at it in a positive light, you're having your own adventures over yonder and bringing your light to an otherwise darkened corner of this lil' ol' orb we call Earth! Stay safe, don
  20. Hello there, Won't go into specifics other than I have a $ 250.00 gift certificate for Go Big Paintball and if anyone in the 'hamsters family plays paintball or wants to have a truly epic 'hamsters meeting, hit me up. Would rather it go to someone that can use it for friends, family or whatnot than figuring out a way to sell it, whatever. Stay safe, don
  21. Hey, great to hear that all is now well... wonderful! Stay safe, don
  22. I agree with ITC bringing a "somewhat knows what to expect" aspect to the gaming locale, I think (like others have said) that it's a good thing for folks to know at least the rough framework of how things are. Like college football and pro football having different specific rules, but players still know where the sidelines are, what the vast majority of rules that are enforced are, formations, etc. With regards to what the players expect / hope for / prepare for / etc., that's just shooter's choice. I don't come to a tournament or gaming session to win. I come to enjoy myself and improve... because I possess the knowledge that there are far more accomplished players out there. Same thing for lifting, how I am at work, how I am with my family, etc. I might not be deemed the best by some poll or listing, but I can strive to be. Stay safe, don
