Sylvos, congrats on HoG. As this year there was a bid process would you be able to spoil the point value that is being used this year? with the holidays being upon us I have a rare chance to get some craft time in and would like to use it prepping for next year. I know your post mentioned getting the full rules pack out soon but I'm like a little kid at Xmas who can't wait to get to it. it's cool if you'd rather wait, just thought I'd ask.

thanks JMGrahm for clarifying that. I've only heard that there was specific "wizard blah blah blah" text that impacted the dispel dynamics. and I haven't read the actual book myself yet. glad to know there's not a loophole out there. poor dwarfs now makes more sense

NtK- is my understanding that as the dispelling player you can always choose to dispel with your army and then you get to choose how many dice to throw at it, sure you give up the boost from a wizards level but that's easily offset by throwing an extra dice or two at the attempt.

blasphemy!! be courageous and admit your fear that my undead master shall conquer all and remake the world in his image. the only new book needed is one detailing how all your forces will look as undead minions :)

come now, where's the love? a wholly skeleton army from VC is almost unheard of, let alone one with only 1 lv1 wizard. I will echo your sentiments though, I love seeing unusual/individual list designs. I think BM with their new ability to take marks will garner more table time. they performed very well from what I observed

ya that particular wording dilemma has been discussed at length in regards to the lore attribute for some of the Lores (specifically Vamps) which states 'immediately upon casting a spell....blah blah blah' and has in my experience been played that you haven't met the requirement if the spell was dispelled.

I'm tempted to put my ideas forth but would have no clue how to go about organizing an event of this size (is there a HOG mentor program that the likes of Raindog would be part of?)

I think the model details are just amazing. I hadn't heard about forge world or CD when I started getting into the hobby/game but when I did, wow. being a VC player I was instantly envious of the appropriately proportioned body parts (yes I'm talking about you oversized ham fisted zombies). I have very little experience playing against them so run afoul of the 'on paper' impression the army can leave people with. I cringe when I think if playing regular dwarfs and most of the word of mouth I've been exposed to ran along the line of 'if you think dwarfs are tough try going against CD...' that all being said if I was to adopt a second army (a BIG if for anyone that knows me) it would be CD.

can you 'kit' out this basic hero so that when they are freed you have back a character that you'd normally field? does the captive's cost come out of the owners army or is this a 'free character'?

rcnjack- the Mortis engine regen save aspect works as a static+1 with the range of the bubble changing each turn.

if the spell says 'unit' then yes they would get the vampires stat, if it says 'model' then they would use their own.

my understanding is that as a single model with split characteristics both the dragon and rider are hit (this following the template rule) and they both test off of the highest value (following the FAQ).

it would cost me 675 for the first tooled out screaming lord. plenty of room for other delightfully mean choices with that.

it would be a ghoul king with aura. and no rerolls for a scream. just straight dice it. and the scream sword with the +1 wound power would be tough for even a ld 10 to take on.

you only get breath weapon once a game. now if he was fielding a TG then he could fly around screaming at things and melting face...

@broG- ditch the dogs and take a spirt host to punish an enemy character who forgets to bring a magic weapon :)
