  1. A few more additions. White Scars Devastators, and some Kasrkin and another Leman Russ for my PDF.
  2. So I’ve been working from home for three weeks now... I did some Mordian Iron Guard for my Planetary Defense Force, also a Chimera, oh and some Eliminators for my White Scars. Oh and a Lieutenant. Wait, a Thunderfire Cannon too. Hmm and a Terminator Assault Squad. Working on a Devastator Squad next...
  3. Why are you only taking 6 devastators in a squad? Is that to fit one of them in the razorback?
  4. this from my buddy who plays Ultramarines “suggest Aggressors and a character (Lieutenant) to follow them and who has the Master of Strategy WL trait (too keep the aggressors permanently in Tactical Doctrine)”
  5. I only started with 8th, but I like missile launchers in tactical squads, especially for a 5-man team that might just camp a backfield objective all game. That way they can still reach out and do some damage to either hard or very soft targets. With my collection as it stands at the moment I find some lists I can field light on heavy weapons, so they shore that up a little also. @Bloated Toad Definitely look at arranging your list for the most CP you can possibly get. Maybe check out the Indomitus Crusaders strat from the Vigilus Defiant book, or the character promotions from Psychic Awakening: Faith and Fury. I’ve been running a Master of Sanctity and Chief Librarian and loving the added capabilities.
  6. Tau xenos breed forces have again been encountered on this world. This time a battalion of White Scars has gone missing. Presumably they have taken a long way around to flank the enemy. Whenever the Master of Sanctity and Chief Librarian appear again, you can count on it being where the enemy expects it least! Here the forces of the Scars have advanced into no man’s land: While the Tau begin their ambush tactics: The company Vindicator attempts to ram a breacher team: The rear elements of the White Scars battalion report their engagement of the xenos forces: Before long the rearguard are also embroiled in the melee: And like that, the White Scars are gone, affecting a strategic retreat, leaving the xenos puzzled and befuddled! We await word from the front, confident the Emperor’s Angels of Death will show themselves once more soon!
  7. I’m bringing my 750 pts White Scars list tomorrow. I can usually get to the clubhouse by about 4:30.
  8. For this battle the White Scars allied with the Crimson Fists against the hated Tau xenos empire, but it should be noted agents of the archenemy were present, as well. The Alpha Legion were no doubt trying to manipulate the xenos to further their own nefarious purposes. An outrider detachment of White Scars was fielded to asses the enemy’s capabilities, and to try to harry them and make quick kills where possible. Things started to go wrong immediately when a Tau warsuit with far too many guns took out the company Vindicator before the Scars had a chance to fire. Undaunted, the Khan and a surviving squad sergeant took the fight to where they could do the most good, charging the Heretic’s transport. They would destroy it and cause the death of at least one traitor in the process. Meanwhile, a squad of scouts on bikes charged the second Tau Commander, though they were unable to fell him as a swarm of drones arrived to take the blows for their cowardly leader. The Khan and biker sergeant gave each other one last killing smile and charged recklessly into the nearest enemies. In the end a lone suppressor sergeant found cover to buy him time to send back the intelligence this report is based on. His signal was lost not long afterward. It is not known what became of the Crimson Fists. At last sight, they were charging the enemy in what looked like a last-ditch effort.
  9. I think this has been the case from the beginning with Doctrines. Or at least the errata that followed immediately after the new codex release. I play White Scars, who excel in the assault doctrine, so the changes are fairly inconsequential for me. It may even be a buff in a perverse way, since I’ll be in my element from turn 3 on, while other chapters get only one to two turns in theirs.
  10. So I take it there hasn’t been much adoption of Adeptus Titanicus among club members? Or maybe there was at launch but its cooled off since? In that case I might just pick up the new book for the lore, and keep working on my 40K armies for now.
  11. I can really only make Tuesdays, but I'd be glad to play sometime. I think I've got a decent handle on the universal rules by now, but I've only been playing 40K for about a year, so my knowledge of factions other than my own Imperial Guard and White Scars is fairly minimal. I've been working with a little help from @Hodor on generally getting more proficient so as to not have to check the rules or unit and weapon profiles every 10 seconds, but there's a ton to keep track of with this game...
  12. My first dabbling with Apothecary White was... unsatisfactory, doing “one thick coat” over the recommended Grey Seer base. See the Terminator pic below... not what I was going for with my White Scars. After some test models, I settled on a roughly 1:1 mix of Apothecary White with Contrast Medium, applied over the brightest white primer I could find, a Rustoleum 2X, I think it is, from Target. This is much brighter and gets the bits of grey you see in codex illustrations. Here’s the mix being applied and some final results. These are much more like what I wanted.
  13. With the new Titanicus starter set coming out tomorrow, is anyone else considering jumping in, or breaking out the god-machines once more?
  14. I’ll be there with 40K/Kill Team forces.
  15. I’d recommend your first few units new in box just so you can be sure you’re getting all the models and bits. However, once you’re pretty familiar with what all a kit should include, you can find some deals on ebay for used models. Also you may want to make sure to have your codex for your chosen faction while building the kits so you can read over the weapon options while you assemble them. I find its nice to have models WYSIWYG, personally. That can sometime mean making a permanent choice, of course. Or, you can get crazy into magnetizing bits so your units are endlessly reconfigurable.
  16. I’m planning to be there, probably around 4:30.
  17. I won’t make this week, but I’ll be there for the 28th. Enjoy!
  18. I’m planning to be there between 4:30 and 5:00. I’ll be the new guy, Dale. (I visited one evening before the holidays for a short time)
  19. I don’t really have a preference, but I have the new Chapter Approved, so maybe one from in there?
  20. I have about 1000 points of Imperial Guard I’d like to get a game with. (Technically its 931 but I have some reserve points for use with a stratagem)
  21. What heresy armies do we have amongst the club? I’m trying to decide between a few candidates for my own.
