Guest
Does it matter from a game mechanic standpoint if no all my models with skimmer bases are on actual skimmer bases, but are instead on regular bases of the same width? I don't think it matters, but I figured I ask before I did it. I bought some used Pirhanhas and now I have more drones and skimmers than I have skimmer bases. I have extra clear stems, 32mm rounds, and 60mm rounds, but the rounds aren't clear or thin like the skimmer ones are. Think it would create a problem? Kelharis
Dont think it matters at all, especially since many people paint the skimmer bottom to match their other bases.
SPaceORK
Custode bikes come with both options so...
Ish
All that really matters (and it doesn't even matter that much) is that the bases be of the appropriate diameter. Citadel's skimmer bases stems are infamously prone to breakage and a lot of people use third-party alternatives.
Lyraeus
I keep forgetting the skimmer bases for my Deff Koptas but it's measured from hull for them.
andy
Deff Koptas have bases?

I got a bunch in trade years ago, and they're standless (though probably due to me losing the stands and forgetting)
Ish
Given how @#$%-ing fragile the Citadel Flight stands are, I wouldn't be surprised if your trade didn't come with any.
Sgt. Rock
I saw a conversion once where a guy used a long, thin bolt screwed into a nut he glued onto the flight stand and again on the bottom of the vehicle. Worked a champ, never broke, and was easy to remove and transport.
Guest
Thanks. Thought it was worth double checking before I did it. Oh, worth knowing, GW flight bases as per their description are 32mm for small and 60mm for the larger. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Citadel-Ball-Top-Flying-Stems-with-32mm-Flying-Bases https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Citadel-Ball-Top-Flying-Stems-with-60mm-Flying-Bases

I think they're like 57mm or so.

WestRider
GW hasn't always been great with their actual size matching up to their nominal size 😉
Ish
I think they dropped the 32 mm ones from their line up. The Primaris Inceptors use a new, kinda crescent-shaped flight stem that attaches to a normal black base.
SPaceORK
One would think that the tau players in the area would have a plethora of extra bases lying about they may be willing to part with.
