FastHippy
After I finish up my D-guard I will be diving into my dream army (been floating around my brain for year) the Orkdeptus Mechanics. Fluff:Deep space, orks, machine god infecting some big mech, the adaptus mechanicus being oddly cool with xeno races as long as they are 95% machine and make weapons for whoever needs em I would love some advice on a reasonable list (especially with new edition new units and all that) so let me know. For the most part this army will be made up a range of alternative models that land somewhere between Ork and AdMec. Some units have been very hard to find alts for but this is what I have tracked down so far. Closest thing i could find to Ork walker but i would still need lazer lance or laz guns... need them bitz: https://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/ourshop/prod_1020486-Steam07.html and more potential walkers https://www.nobleknight.com/Search?text=bitspudlo&ProductLineId=2137437881 and more chickens https://www.nobleknight.com/P/2147453258/Light-Assault-Walker---Wildfire-Honey So many good bitz here. Got wheel bitz for Kataphron , Mech legs for vangaurd or rangers, lots of choppy bitz for infiltators and even some greatcoat bodies for the occasion unneeded admech cloak: https://bitsofwar.com/16-greenskins More stuff from bitz of war. Weird revolver type guns similar to AdMech: https://bitsofwar.com/legion-armoury/187-magma-rifles.html Orc dune crawler: https://www.modelsandminis.com/Orc_Klanka_Walker/p2965327_15435182.aspx Servo arms for them heroes, I might just use regular admech heroes as well as they are already pretty orky: https://zealotminiatures.com/zealot-shop/#!/Servo-Arm-Human/p/70421082/category=6272033 Deathbots cause AdMech has those: https://www.manticgames.com/games/deadzone/goblin-stuntbot-upgrade-pack/ and these too once the shop reopens https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?id_category=28&controller=category To note there are some Ork units that could cross over- copters/stormboys for skystalkers come to mind but i want to keep it seperate-ish if i can. There will be much more metal colors that green skins cause there admech but ya. It will be a while before i jump into this project but if you have ideas let me know. 3
blackvigil
I'm interesting in seeing this army come together. I suggest a thread in the Artificer's Forge section. I've got one going for my current project.

FastHippy
Does anyone have any ideas on a good ad mech list.. Once I have a solid list it will help me with my alt model searching.
FastHippy
Also any thoughts on cloaks. Admech loves them cloaks- Do i green stuff a load of em or?? That's a lot of green stuff....
blackvigil
I would check out kromlech for orky options. I like the great coat orks. https://bitsofwar.com/32-orc-greatcoats
Ish
WHFB Night Goblins, with guns and a few choice bitz here and there, could be painted up to look like Orkish “Tek-Priezt.”

I like the great coat orks. https://bitsofwar.com/32-orc-greatcoats I like the greatcoats but much trimming will need to be done to integrate there body/leg sculpts with the robo bitz i want to use. Maybe i can mix them into each squad there to add cloaks with just some of the similar parts (like robo arms and heads). It wouldn't be a fully cloaked force but it would get the point across.
FastHippy
So this is the list I am thinking about building towards: https://spikeybits.com/2020/01/three-new-40k-army-lists-taking-the-new-year-by-storm.html Any other list ideas are welcome. Couple of tech priests (likely go with ad mech models- there weird enough as is)- ideas welcome of course! Lots of Breachers- bits of war from above. Wheel bits mech heads and all that. 6x lance chicken- I have some options from above but I am not sure if there is one i love. I think this is my favorite but i would need robo orc crew with lances- https://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/ourshop/prod_1020486-Steam07.html Any ideas are appreciated. Dunerider and 3 Disintegrator- these are new sculpts and I have not dug around for alternative. If you have any ideas let me know. Daedalus- Again i might stick with the sculpt as is but ideas are welcome Inquisitor Coteaz- Anyone know of an orc with a eagle on his arm?? This list might be a reach on the alts i have found- i can build loads of breachers which is the core of the list so i might start there and expand. With 9th this list might be trash or whatnot so any Admech players out there... help!
MexicanNinja
Orc with an eagle, no. However, maybe there's an Ogre Mawtribe player around with an extra vulture from a stonehorn kit. 1
Ish
Whizkids sells a Wind Orc and Vulture miniature as part of their “Wardlings” lineup. The orc is more of the typical 28 mm size used for D&D, so it’s more like a GW goblin in size, but the vulture is suitably large and should look good perched on the arm or shoulder of a Ork Nob sized figure: That’s a 20 mm round base that it’s on, approximately the size of a nickel, if that helps visualize the scale. Reaper Miniatures offers miniatures for everything, and they make a very nice set of Vultures. (Guardian Games stocks the Wardlings line and Reaper Miniatures if you want to shop locally.) 1
FastHippy
what about these for replacement for lance chickens. Don't look the same but seem to serve to do the same thing. https://bitsofwar.com/home/1203-goblin-demolishun-tank.html
Munkie
There's an Ogre maneater pirate that has a gnoblar dressed as a parrot on his shoulder. That added to the Black Reach warboss with the long power claw extended out, would be perfect.
