KAPcom
So, finally got started with my Borderlands dark eldar force. Figured I'd start with the sand skiffs, as I've got a few I've got to convert up. Here's the model, obviously still have some stuff to add (waiting for heads and bits for the guys hanging off), but you get the gist. And a reference picture of what I'm shooting for. I would love some input. Thoughts?
PourSpelur
Well, to be brutally honest.... Nailed it! Great job. Simple yet effective, easily identified while looking quite Borderlands-y. 9/10 would use for murders again
KAPcom
Finished up a test model. For the basic troops, I wanted to use Kabalite warriors models, since I'll be using a lot of them, and had some around. I did a little converting, and for future models will be doing a head swap for a more bandit-y look, but here's the basic idea. Borrowing from the visual style of the game, I outline most of the shadows in black lines to accentuate the drawing-like quality, and won't be using any metallics in the color scheme. Armor will vary from yellow to red, just to add some variation, and add to the ramshackle look. What do you think? I would love suggestions.
Kingpin
I dig it. I like the orange/red on the gun. looks good.
PourSpelur
People that can paint good looking eyes on minis are a lot like people that drink the last cup of coffee and don't make a new pot ...I hate them;) Jokes aside (except the coffee thing, those guys should burn) looking good. Have you played with any weathering powders yet? For being a bandit, and doing bandit-y things all day, he's remarkably clean. Just my 2¢ but dusting him up a bit could push him from great to awesome.
KAPcom
I've been debating using weathering powders or not. I'm trying to replicate the paint scheme in the game, which is entirely cell shaded, so adding non-painted texture would deviate from the scheme, but visually it would look good. So, I don't know yet.
generalripphook
Maybe finish the army without weathering, then when you have the entire scheme done, try a single model and a vehicle and compare it to the look of the army. Aventine
I've been debating using weathering powders or not. So, I don't know yet. Have you looked into doing oil washes at all? They can do some really amazing things and I think would fit what you're going after here... Gorgosaurusrex
Looking great so far. I love the conversions and the color scheme.
KAPcom
So, picked up some oil paints to try oil washes. Hoping to do some brown "weathering" with the stuff, we'll see how it goes. Updates when I get the chance. :)
CaptainA
Good! It's Borderlands, nothing can be shiny and clean, especially the raiders.
KAPcom
Finished converting up Captain Scarlett to lead my merry band of bandits into battle. More green stuff work than I'm used to, and a lot of really small plastic work. C&c encouraged as usual. :)

KAPcom
It's one of the Reaper chronoscope line. They've got some really great stuff, although converting metal models is not something I enjoy doing on a regular basis. :)
Sammy
This project looks great, I'm a big Borderlands fan! I've always wanted to Kitbash some Dahl trucks and make a mine scene, maybe this year I'll do that with inspiration from your project. Are you going to sculpt some hoodies onto some of your bandits? Because that would be awesome.
KAPcom
I've got some sweet gas mask/ goggle heads I'm using for the bandits. Also replacing weapon with random, multicolored guns (except special weapons to avoid confusion)
KAPcom
Well, now that tshft is over, I can finally get back to working on this project. Re-did the color scheme a bit, think it looks much better now. Also got a pair of buggies constructed. I would love some brutally honeat critique on the paint scheme.

Guest Mr. Bigglesworth
Really great contrasts in colors where even a picture shows great detail.
KAPcom
Slow but steady progress on this army. Got the buggies all assembled, ready for bits and some grey-stuff work.
