Lord Hanaur
So we have done pizza and we've done Teriyaki. We are probably going to be feeding everyone Teriyaki this year but I wanted to ask this question: If the tournament organizers were paying for the food, what TTYPE of food would you want to keep you fueled up for four rounds of Warhammer

Gorgosaurusrex
Teriyaki sounds good to me. That was a hit last year.
WestRider
The Teriyaki was great last year. Truth be told, tho, I'm always down for pizza, too.
Gorgosaurusrex
I'm always down for pizza as well. It's probably the easiest solution logistically, and I don't know anyone who doesn't like pizza. I'd prefer teriyaki though. I don't think gamers are very picky when it comes to food though haha. AbusePuppy
Teriyaki does sound pretty good, although I'm open to most options. It might be worth checking with people about food allergies and dietary requirements, though.
Lord Hanaur
We have run into that in the past actually and there are indeed some people who are sensitive to certain things. But my question is more general. Teriyaki was a lot of food, was very tasty and it was probably a lot better for us than Pizza. Gotta keep those energy levels up over the course of four games! I am going to decide in the next few hours so I can prepare the menu's for the Ambassadors and i just wanted to get input so keep it coming. Even those not attending, your opinion is appreciated.
InfestedKerrigan
Barbecue is always good. Ribs, Brauts, etc. I don't know how long meal time is, or if the funds allow for tapping a catering company, though.

Lord Hanaur
I know the owners, they have a great heart and quite the presence in Tacoma. They have quite the following in Seattle & Tacoma Cool. They were supposed to call me back but didn't. Maybe if you are coming, you can get with me tomorrow and we can tag team it. Has that been decided yet?
Talonwinter
That place sounds interesting but I think the say on the web site they want 24 to 48 hours for orders to go. it does sound really good though. I would give them a call one last time cause it looked and sounded really good. LOL

Maybe if you are coming, you can get with me tomorrow and we can tag team it. Has that been decided yet? Was supposed to be paintballing, but they canceled. Sadly I haven't even opened my Codex and cards yet. I wouldn't be a good choice to be in a tourney at this time
Nato Sicarius
I think the choice you made of wings and pizza was excellent. The wings were eaten at a much slower pace, whereas the pizza was the mid day carb up we needed. The drinks were great. Understand this is just a function of the store, but more trash cans were needed. Speaking of, that store was really awesome. I even saw the gaming space in the back, nice. The painting of Gandolf in the rafters was awe inspiring. +2 for washing your hands? Hilarious.
Lord Hanaur
Indeed. I ordered 100 wings to provide for the ongoing nourishment needs of the Ambassadors. What was funny was the lady when i called and told her I was feeding 30 gamers, she said Id need 8 pizzas. I laughed at her and said: "uh...no. I said these are GAMERS. Get me ten pizzas, 5 orders of breadsticks and ONE HUNDRED chicken wings!!!". End of the night we had exactly two wings left. Lol. I also got cases upon cases of pop, gatorades, snapples and some other stuff and we ended with like 12 cans of pop left. So I think we pretty much nailed it on the amounts.
AbusePuppy
The Gatorade and Snapple were much appreciated- soda is okay for a meal, but when 4PM rolls around and you're bone dry from being on your feet all day in a warm room and talking constantly, it really helps to have something more substantial.
WestRider
Yeah, definitely glad to have some non-soda and non-caffeinated options available for beverages. Thanks for arranging that!
Lord Hanaur
You're very welcome. I also did it because i know we have some diabetic folks who attended and i really REALLY wanted to make sure they also got taken care of. Do you think you'd preffr less pop and more of the other stuff? We can totally do it. Everyone has their own preferences which is why we went with a wide range but any input on what you like to drink is also helpful for next year.
WestRider
Variety is good. I'm hyper-sensitive to caffeine, so I avoid it as best I can, but other people need it to function. No one thing is gonna work for everyone, so a good spread like this is probably the way to go.
AbusePuppy
I'm not a huge fan of soda, so I would definitely like to see more other options available in the future.
Gorgosaurusrex
I would have liked to see some water bottles there. I looked but couldn't find any - maybe I missed them? Napkins and paper plates would have been a welcome addition. The pizza was good (for delivery pizza) but I'd rate the teriyaki from last year much higher. Overall the food was good though! AbusePuppy
I don't think there were any water bottles- however, as pointed out to me, there was a drinking fountain towards the back of the room, so we were actually pretty well-provided in that sense. Lord Hanaur
Yeah i had a hard time paying for water when it was free there. Lol. But I did bring the low cal Gatorade and no-cal flavored waters like the Boysenberry/Raspberry stuff. Maybe those just went fast. hehehe. So good discussion on this and it gives me lots of guidance.
