InfestedKerrigan
For OFCC, I'd try to see if I could get the slots maxed just so I could have zealot on everything. muahahahah. It would be so bad, but so good. 1k spent on LoWs off the starting line doesn't make it easy.
IW Raptors
No legion of the damned in any formations seems an oversight, from the fluff spoilers I read, they play a part.

WestRider
Yes, of course. You can only have one CT per detachment though, so no mixing CT. That's unfortunate. It would be cool to be able to get Crusader Squads without being locked into BT for the whole Detachment.
pretre
So, 2 rules questions: - Castellans has a list of units allowed for the detachment. - SM Bikes are listed under Fast - C:SM Bikes changed to a battlefield role of troops when you take a character on a bike 1) Does that mean you can use bikes to fill the troop slot for Castellans even though they aren't explicitly listed? 2) Does that mean that if the above is not a yes, and you take bikes as 'FA' anyway in Castellans, but have a character on bike that they count as Troops for the purpose of the special rule allowing you to respawn them. rules
InfestedKerrigan
Papa Smurf, Ultra Knight and the Bob Slead Team are the only nonvehicle LoW for AotI I can think of. Sort of bottle necks Belldandy's buff.
InfestedKerrigan
I'd say their role changes, per the Captain on Bike. Unless the new book says otherwise in a Section we haven't seen.

AbusePuppy
1) Does that mean you can use bikes to fill the troop slot for Castellans even though they aren't explicitly listed? 2) Does that mean that if the above is not a yes, and you take bikes as 'FA' anyway in Castellans, but have a character on bike that they count as Troops for the purpose of the special rule allowing you to respawn them. I am moderately certain that you wouldn't be able to take them as "troops"- the headings in the detachment that talk about what units you are allowed to take are more labels of convenience than anything. Bikes would be a "FA" choice regardless. Whether they respawn or not is a bit less clear; I think you can make an argument for it either way. My intuition would be that they could, however. Papa Smurf, Ultra Knight and the Bob Slead Team are the only nonvehicle LoW for AotI I can think of. Sort of bottle necks Belldandy's buff. Is this really what we're calling her now? Does this mean that Greyfax is, what, Peorth? And Cawl is Keiichi?

Clearly, this also makes the Gemini twins Urd and Skuld. Although, I think I'd have Cawl as Celestin and Keiichi be a Captain on a bike.
IW Raptors
They don't fit the formations and have their own that kind of fit their 'aid unlooked for' theme. I just want some objective secure, recycling Space Marine Ghosts. From the fluff, they seemed cosy enough with the Imperial fists, nods & all. Anyways, the Castellan formation, looks like a handy way to get around limited detachments. Coteaz (Imperial Agents), an Inquisitor (INQ Codex) with servo skulls, Culexus & 4 min scout squads comes in at just under 500pts, all objective secure and useful to a variety of imperial armies.

The formation says "according to battle field role" and Bikes says "changes battlefield role" in any "Detachment that contains at least one independent character with the space marines faction equipped with a space marine bike". InfestedKerrigan
Does a dedicated transport have to be destroyed in addition to the guys in order to respawn? Can I take 4 x 5 man tac squads in DP and respawn the 5 and a new DP while the original DP is still in play? Or a razorback, same thing. Can you get free razorbacks by sacrificing the 5 marines over and over?

The DP/razorback only respawns when it dies.

pretre
Huh, I just noticed that you can get an Inquisitorial Henchman Warband in your Castellans. This means you get an extra warlord trait and can take a combined henchman unit, plus GK, DK or BSS! Interesting. And you can use this to get Coteaz in, as well.
