  1. Thanks to all the coaches we've had a ton of awesome Blood Bowl action and carnage so far! Great job getting games in and using all this new-fangled technology to track the results. Below are the standings as of today (though it does look like there is one match result missing, based on the total games count).

    We have two weeks left in the season and one more official League Night. The next theme for League Night is: 

     ALL YOU CAN EAT NIGHT  
    The grills are fired up and laden with patties of ground… something, and nothing attracts wizards like a buffet! Each team gets a free Wizard inducement for each game. This may be a standard Wizard or any of the special Wizards that are available based on the team’s Regional Special Rules (DZ page 22). Additionally, if the coach brings a painted Apothecary model, the team gets a free Apothecary to use for each game! If the team cannot take an Apothecary, they may take a Mortuary Assistant instead.

  2. Following each League Night is a Skills Draft with the order based on League Points (LPs) earned during League Night.

    SKILLS DRAFT PROCESS

    1. Review the list of Skills available in the Draft Pool 
    2. When it is your turn in the order, post to this thread with your selection and player assignment
      1. NOTE: the assignment must be legal (ie, the player must have either Primary or Secondary access to the skill) 
    3. Your post MUST include:
      1. ID (listed to the left of the skill in the pool)
      2. Skill
      3. Assigned Player (roster number and name) 
      4. Value Increase
      5. Example: A3, Jump Up, #7 Gladys McFanny, +20K 
    4. You may post your selection out of order, but if you do so please post a number of selections equal to your draft order number and in the order of your preference. 
      1. For example, Coach Alpha is fourth in the draft order and would post four (4) selections in order of preference. E.g, 1) A3 Jump Up, #7 Gladys McFanny, +20K , 2) G2 Tackle, #5 Droop McCool, +20K, etc. 
    5. The draft closes at 11:59 PM PT the same day the pool is posted 
    6. Any coach who did not make a selection during the draft time will have a skill randomly selected and randomly assigned to player on their team roster
    7. YOU are responsible for updating your team roster correctly, including the new Player Value and Team Value 

     

    QUICK REFERENCE - VALUE INCREASES 
    All Drafted skills are considered to be Chosen skills for Value Increases. The total Value Increase is based on the normal access for the player selected. 

    Chosen Primary skill: +20,000 gp
    Chosen Secondary skill: +40,000 gp
    Chosen Unavailable* skill: +40,000 gp

    *Unavailable skill is one the player would not normally be able to get; for example, a Mutation or Trait.

    The Google Form. Sorry, I should have been clear about that. Also, I forgot to add a League Night 2 option to the Date field. Pretty much going off the rails as a league commish! 

    Having said that, you coaches did a great job posting results from last night despite my buffoonery, so I will have the Skills Draft post up soon.

  4. NEXT LEAGUE NIGHT

    Our next official League Night is Tuesday, July 6 at the Ordo clubhouse. The theme is listed below so you can get started on painting your mascot model. 

     

    Mascot Night - The stitching is fresh and the outfits are zany, ready for their debut in front of the crowd. Each team gets a free Mascot Inducement (DZ page 39) for each game. Additionally, if the coach brings a painted Mascot model, the team gets two (2) Mascots for each game!

    Obviously the online draft format is turning into a bit of a debacle with timing, so for the next one. will alter the way it works and publish new guidelines for selections. Feedback welcome.

  6. Thanks for a great turnout last night! Eight coaches threw down for a total of 7 games (ha!) with lots of thrills and classic BB moments (scotthartman's dwarfs rolling a 1 on a goal line Rush on BOTH turn 6 and turn 12!). The results from that night are now posted in the new Skills Draft thread, along with the draft order. 

     ROSTER UDPATES 
    Remember, you have to manually update your roster with changes to players (eg, deaths!), new skills, new money, and new Team Value (and CTV). Be sure to get that done prior to your next match - which can be at any time since we have an open schedule. 

     RULES UPDATES 
    Some rules clarifications that came up during games. (these will also be added to the League Rules post) 

    TOUCHBACKS
    The Sevens rules are unclear about what counts as a Touchback. For our league, any kick-off that lands on the pitch and not behind the kicking coach's Line of Scrimmage is a fair kick, any other result is a Touchback. 

    POST-GAME SEQUENCE
    The Sevens rules describe the sequence for Player Advancement and The Draft correctly, but are listed in the rules in the wrong order, which is confusing. During the Post-Game, coaches roll for The Draft first, then conduct Player Advancement rolls, so that a player who earns a new skill is NOT eligible for the The Draft until after their next game.
