  1. Lean on your Captain and build towards a list that is flexible or gives good matches against something that the rest of your team doesn't. Having four lists to match for the closest matches is the goal of a Captain, you as the player can help support that by being as versatile a list as possible. Just my two cents.
  2. @evil_bryan Played the 4th mission, tons of fun but little interaction between the players over objectives. Based on the roll then score same player turn it was more a take position and hope rather than a true struggle over the objectives... Not bad really just my observation maybe you roll random to start (during deployment?) Then spend command points during your turn to make the roll to change the powered up ones? Otherwise the objectives stay the same... Just a suggestion, probably too complicated but tossing it out there.
  3. Nothing here says single detachment, match play recommendation for number of detachments is 1 plus another per 1000 points. At this power level two detachments should be totally fine, especially considering you are probably keeping the same keywords. I'd take your original list with the Lord. This would allow you a battalion (most of your list of units) and a spearhead (1 hq required and 3 heavies required).
  4. Looks like both are the same hive fleet, I'm cool. As for the CP... A single brigade is 15 and is encouraged through achievements. This list isn't looking to make some combo just lots of bodies which is right for nids.
  5. Power level is just the grab and play. It only really works if both players are compromising and not optimizing any way. If you are at a point where you care if the power level is right you should be playing points any way...
  6. And you can hold it over, while still rolling for all your objectives! It just says no selection to count. Love this mission BTW so ready to play it soon. Played the pyre mission. We worked through it but what if a model has the smoke drifting through it? We played if it was partially obscured the firing player could choose to suffer the penalty to hit for the points or not. Also we used a scatter die for the drift more fun!

  8. @evil_bryan So a few of my players have asked if old Marines are okay on 25mm bases? Apparently some official thing somewhere I haven't bothered reading says all Marines must be on 32mm... Can we use old school marines in an old-school list on old school bases ie 25mm?

  11. I believe they can be classed as performance enhancing paints however with the proper lobbying a set of rules for who can use them should appropriately level the playing field... 🤣
