  1. What is the difference between a terrorist training facility and a Pakistani pre-school? How should I know? I only fly the drone.
  2. Hey man. I would be down for working out some sort of trade for those FoW Germans we had discussed at the gamer garage sale thing. PM me if interested.
  3. Vorga... I kill you filthy. Here is a song about that book:
  4. I used plastic cement on all my WF minis. Worked great. Stronger bond than with super glue. Nothing has broken yet.
  5. I used those two sets to build my Viking warband. I used a very simple system to differentiate them. Dark Age Warriors box set bodies do not have armor. The Hirdmen bodies do. So, my levy came from Dark Age Warriors, so no body armor. They got bows only, and mostly heads without helmets. For my warriors (since they are better armored than levy), I used the Dark Age Warriors set bodies and gave them a hand weapon and a shield and heads with helmets (for the most part). For my hearthguard, they got bodies from the Hirdmen box (they have chainmail), a hand weapon, a shield, and a helmeted head. So, i can look at any model and tell what it is at a glance. Chan mail & shield? that is a hearth guard. Shield but no chain mail? warrior. Bow and no armor or shield, that is a levy. I also made a unit of berserkers by using the Dark Age Warrior body and gave them two axes each. they look a little silly, but easy to tell that they are special. Here is the only problem you will run into: The Dark Age Warrior box only comes with 8 bows and the hirdmen box comes with none. So, you aren't going to have enough bows to make a 12 man levy.
  6. This is amazingly useful! Thanks for putting this together.
  7. Here are some pics from a recent game of Bolt Action I played with Flatlander: http://imgur.com/a/9Jkwx
  8. I think an expansion can give extra legs to an old friend, but generally I find them disappointing. I get to play games so infrequently that I rarely exhaust all a game has to offer. If I have played a game too many times and still want more, then an expansion is a great way to mix it up. Usually, though, it doesn't improve a game for me, just gives me an excuse to revisit it for a few more run throughs. I don't like adding in expansions after only a few games. I have friends that immediately go buy the expansion as soon as they play the game once or twice. I think that is more the collector mentality taking over and less of the desire to play a good game. As far as what expansions I like, I thought the expansion to Lords of Waterdeep really added to that game.
  9. If you are interested in playing some SAGA, there is a FB group of players in Portland and the PNW called Rose City Bondi. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Rosecity.Bondi/?ref=br_tf
  10. A sideboard means that you have your standard six point army, but you can bring an extra 1 point unit to swap out for something in your list depending your opponent or scenario. For instance say you have 3 points of warriors, 2 of hearthguard, and 1 of levy with a sideboard of another point of hearthguard. You look at the table and realize your levy are never gonna get a good shot in, you can swap them for the extra point of hearthguard before the game starts.
  11. I will be there. Packing Saga and Bolt Action. Hoping to get a couple games in.
  12. If you are trying to get the game mechanics down, i would skip the tanks for the first game (and, consequently, the bazooka). Figure out the way infantry (and snipers and mortars) work your first game and then throw in a tank for your second game. At 500 points a tank is an uber weapon. So, if both players have a tank, it usually comes down to whoever kills the other guy's tank first is going to roll through the rest of the army. Not much fun and not much good for learning anything strategy wise.
  13. Not that I know of, but i would love to meet for a game. You in Portland?
  14. Visa or MasterCard. Most don't take Amex or Discover.
  15. I knocked this out last week with some extra minis I had sitting around. I picked up the carvable artificial pumpkin from Joann's fabrics.
