  1. I used to run 2 LR with Crusader Squads and my EC, 3 pods two with crusader squads and 1 with command squad, and 2 pods with Dreads. It was effective enough and fluffy for me. I'm not sure what the points in the new Dex would be, though. I played in 4th/5th.
  2. Unbound sounds like the " Apoc is now Standard" rumor. Looks like Tank Companies are in. As is that 11 Heldrake list. Hmmm. What about DC Dreads?
  3. That would make a great conversion for a Titan. What comes after Imperator?
  4. The fluff implies a tyranid invasion of Terra in the early days of the Emperor getting things set up, long before the Primarchs. Kinda like the Dragon on Mars, but Terra. Tau have fraught similar monsters for as long as they can remember. Maybe Tau will get a fat sheet to represent this.
  5. Tyranid is getting a boost on May 16th. The new design is amazing and makes the Knight Titan look like a mechaSloth.
  6. So any army can take a non-allied detachment of knights to represent Merc Houses? Am I understanding that correctly?
  7. The symbiote searches out a new host...finding tits.
  8. Dang, Sept 27th...I might be able to actually make that work. Kind of tight, though. Good luck to all those who are able to make it! Looking forward to reading the Battle Reps from this FFA event.
  9. http://natfka.blogspot.com/2013/11/what-will-2014-look-like-release.html Hmmm.....
  10. Why isn't "Neither: I'm a stream pirate! YARRRR!" An option on the poll? IF they did Supes versus Bats right, it could be freaking awesome! But that's a mighty big IF. I don't have faith in that happening. I didn't really enjoy Captain America. I need to go back and watch it again. Maybe I'll realize I just don't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the rest of the MCU, but that I still like it. I just recall not liking it. I am excited to see Winter Soldier, though. Especially because I watch Agents of SHIELD and I'm current on that and looking forward to seeing the events in the movie play out. Ultimately, for myself, DC movies suck donkey dong more times than not. Dark Knight was the exception, not the rule. Marvel movies, over all, have been good. There have been those I didn't like (Rise of the Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Electra, Last Stand([big bad swear word] you for [big bad swear word]ing up Phoenix...[big bad swear word]ers...) to name a few), but that's the exception, not the rule. So I'd put my money on Cap3 being the better movie, better story.
  11. Playing DnD with my buddies has gotten me interested in running a campaign. It's been close to 15 years since the last time I was a DM. The initial thought of the campaign I want to run is Epic Level. I want the players to be able to take on lesser gods, old dragons, etc. In deciding how to make this a reasonable/feasible campaign idea, Planescape came to mind. 3rd and 3.5 didn't present a lot on Planescape, but I do have all of 2nd editions books on Planescape. As far as I know, the players involved have limited to no knowledge of the Planes or Sigil. As such, I'm going to be able to draw upon the Planescape Adventures/Modules from 2nd edition for a lot of the campaign. I believe I'll have 3 to 4 players. When I started conceptualizing and laying out the pieces, I only had two players, so an additional player or two will help the story move along better when using premade adventures without the need of scaling conflicts. I plan on using time passing as a plot device to increase levels between sessions to help get the characters to the levels I want them at for the campaign. I know a lot of people feel 3.5 starts falling apart after level 9, but I don't feel the people I'll be playing with are familiar enough with the system to power game it in such a fashion. Even if they are trying to power game, moving the setting to Planescape should help negate that. These bashers are from the prime. They don't have chant to say about living in the Planes. With the Blood War raging, the Great Modron March happening, and the Factions always bickering with each other, I'm not worried about the "strength" of the characters, a bigger basher is always around the corner. That brings me to my questions. Are any of you familiar with Planescape and have any suggestions about what Mods you enjoyed or didn't enjoy within the setting? How do you feel about the Spelljammer settings? Is there a particular Plane you really enjoyed playing on? What was compelling about it? Once the PCs are around level 15-19, I'm going to spend less time guiding them into adventures and more time allowing them to decide their fate. Perhaps they'll have joined a faction, or possible started their own. Maybe they will travel back to the Prime World they came from and rid it of undesirable beings or monsters. If they choose Evil Dragons, for an example, that would be a great way to get them involved with Tiamat, Falazure, Garyx and ultimately Io on them, drawing them into Baator, Hades, the Abyss and the Outlands. Perhaps if Io gets involved, they can either kill him, or follow his advice and allow the Chromatic Dragons to exist using the "How can you know how good the Metallic Dragons are if you don't know how Evil the Chromatic ones are?" line of thought. Thoughts? Ideas? Feedback?
  12. For iOS it says up to 5 player pass to play, solo vs 4 AI and a large multiplayer database with 10s of thousands of players world wide...whatever that means. It doesn't explicitly state if it's iOS players only, or if it's cross platform. Small World 2 says the same thing. It also includes local gameplay on multiple devices via wifi or bluetooth. I didn't see that on Ticket2Ride.
  13. What about kitbashing Guardsmen with the Ungor? I know it's been done before, but it will give you the tech you are seeking. I don't recall what armor save the Cultists have, though.
  14. I'm not familiar with the model it's based on, I was introduced to 40k in Middle School (Asmodius was on the cover of the Catalog if anyone can pinpoint the year), but didn't start playing until '01 or '02 (spent my hobby money on SW:CCG by Decipher). That said, it's a killer conversion and reminds me of the Rogue Trader era Dreads and robots. It's too bad the builder got as much glue on the carapace as they did, hopefully they can sand it down, or do a good cover job when painting. Fingerprints are the bane of large models.
  15. I saw the Twilight Porno where Jacob hooks up with Bella and Edwards daughter. Does that count?
  16. Can you tell if it's Android network only, or whatnot? I'd like to get Catan and a few others eventually. Carcassone is the only one I have currently. Mind you, I have an iPad air.
  17. I am currently at the Starter, an additional X-wing and TIEln and Slave 1. I would like to get Imperial Aces next, I believe.
  18. No, it's not as simplistic as that. I enjoy female leads, except in AVP, that bizzle needed to die a long horrible death. The comparisons to me included, but weren't limited to: Teen Angst, Dystopian Future with oppressive government setup to "prevent warring," a coming of age ritual (the hunger game and the test/choosing ceremony), Angsty Hormonal Teen takes on the powers that be and starts the seeds of revolution. Mind you, I'm not the first, nor the last to make the comparison. I'm sure others have done so in a far more articulate fashion. Like I said before, I loved the movie, will end up seeing it multiple times and can't wait to see the next film. I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to read the books, but I agree, I'd love to know more about the larger world, what caused Chi-town to go all isolationist, what's going on with the rest of the world, why are they only afraid of a ground invasion (I saw nothing suggestive of Anti-Air/Air Force), etc. Who was arguing? BroG was asking for me to expand my previous comparison. ;) I watched the first two (maybe 3? I'm not sure) Twilight movies for one simple reason: I don't believe you have a solid ground to stand on when complaining about how sh!tty a movie is unless you've seen it. I watched them, I can call them out for how....well, honestly, I don't care to talk about Twilight anymore than this: edit: http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/4-cliche-things-every-dystopian-young-adult-movie-does/
