  1. OK, can I get two games in? If so...let me know and I'll be there with my OFCC girls looking to learn a thing or two. :)
  2. Hey! What's the format and times? I might have a need to be in the area and be able to play.....
  3. Paging Hero Zero! PM me please...I want to get the teams OK before I get some shirts made....
  4. OK, so here's what's up next for my OFCC gang...a sixth mercenary ogre to join the five that I made for the Dallas GT way back in 2003. I had forgotten that I owned this excellent piece of GW history went I went searching on my garage shelves (in the "Ogre" box ) for a sixth ogre. What better for an all girl army than a "girl" ogre! Presenting Joyce the meek and congenial:
  5. Hey All: One of the many things that I like about the OFCC is that it provides plenty of reason to make new stuff to play with. This year, for my return to the event after a multiyear hiatus, I made a new general for my Dark Elf Girls. When Yabani (and I) were last at the OFCC she was on foot....this year she gets to ride her dragon:
  6. Dark elf chicks are completely bald from the eyebrows down, didn't you know? ....and I'll look for a gold tooth opportunity....
  7. So here is a remake of Talika, the mounted psychopath/psorceress. She was one my original Soulcrusher girls from back in 2003 but needed a redux for the modern world.
  8. That's the one I am looking at as well.
  9. What vendor are you using? Is there a good one that y'all have had good experience with? We (Team Grimdark) are looking to do the same.
  10. Here is the next new Soulcrusher chick, Kiriçi the Death Hag. Her job is to keep Sebati, the BSB alive for as long as possible. She carries the Obsidian blade which was fun to render (my version anyway :D ) on the figure:
  11. As regards fortitude, what about a DOW unit with a standard bearer? Is that one fortitude or two?
  12. So it seems I have put together a list for the OFCC with a fair amount of sage advice from my Team Captain and a few other helpful fellows around the world. Positive externality of the process is that I need to make some new girls for the Soulcrushers. First finished is Sebati, my Witch Elf BSB:
  13. Question: The above format is exactly what quartermaster does. If the math must be checked (good idea) then that eliminates the possibility that quartermaster could have some template or coding error in it.... Therefore, why the requirement to type out a list using Word? Seems almost as dubious as requiring that they be handwritten in ink. What am I missing?
  14. I was wondering where those came from. Let's make a deal....
  15. Talapas: thanks for organizing! I got my three good games in on tables with cool terrain...so that was a success for me. I'll definitely try to hit more of these when I can. I also learned that daemon princes really are a problem for my dark elf girls....if I didn't learn that at the Black Sheep.
  16. Are lists due on Wednesday? Is Quartermaster OK? Do we email them? To whom? Thanks!
  17. Yep! I will be there with the Soulcrusher girls and learning the 8th edition ropes to get ready for the OFCC. I have a new BSB to debut on Sunday. She's glowering at me to paint her before then so she can play.
  18. Hey All: I painted the two other Konigsmark Sisters for my old friend who's running a Warlord Games Day on June 7th (if anyone happens to be in the Oklahoma City area...check it out it should be a fun lil' event). Evidently, Warlord has a witchunter game and these chicks will be doing the hunting.
  19. ....if there was something that would get me to start, it would be the complete and utter coolness that is Raging Heroes Toughest Girls in the Galaxy line of figures. Frankly they are just so awesome that I felt the need to evangelize a bit. http://www.ragingheroes.com/blogs/news That's all I have to say. If you haven't seen what they are cooking up, check'em out.
  20. Hey all: I'm thinking of shuffling some things around so I can attend this event on May 18th. I haven't been to one in years, but I remember them to be well run little events in the old days. Is that still generally the case? How well attended have they been lately?Anyone out there planning on being there? My goal is just to get some fun games in against fun players.....
  21. Speaking as both an old timer and a newcomer to the OFCC, I'll say that I tend to agree with many of the points raised, I.e. that by limiting certain choices, you just change the rules by which a player might bring a no-fun list, a jerk will be a jerk, and it takes more than comp restrictions to deter jerks. Also, I have felt a tad restricted by some blanket restrictions in the past, where I certainly wasn't bringing an over hard army, but I had to change it because it contained "a violation". Now that being said, on those occasions, I had to make some new figures to make my army OFCC compliant, one of which is one of my personal favorite figures in 30 years of doing this hobby....so maybe that was a good thing! My feeling today is that no system will please everyone, and that the goal of the list raters and indeed the event as a whole, is to attract a certain type of player with a certain type of army and thus make a fun event that is more about playing fun games than seeing who goes 5&0. I personally favor the "I know porn when I see it" system similar to what the list raters are doing as opposed to points based Swedish type comp systems that just make another layer of gaming to game the comp system. My only request is that we are able to know our list passes muster well in advance of the event.....in case I need to make some new figures! :)
  22. Just when I thought I had my list...... ....never mind....I just engaged my brain out of park. All is well with the world. We're all fine here now...how are you?
  23. Are y'all planning on doing these monthly? It took me a bit by surprise as it's only 3 weeks since the last one. I'd love to attend one of these, now that they are Sundays again, as I used to in the old days quite regularly. I would suggest that something to consider for increasing the attendance would be a) consistency with the schedule, I.e. 3rd Sunday of every other month, and/or b) announcement more than a month in advance. Either way, it wouldn't have helped me attend this one as April 13th is my youngest sons birthday and my father in law's birthday AND my father's birthday! I'll try and make the next one!
  24. Hello Sage Ordoians: I'm working on army lists and it seems at first review that I don't see power stones/power scrolls being used in lists (the ones I have seen anyway). Is this the case? Are they rarely used, and if so what is the rationale? Seems like they would be useful for the odd 3-4 dice WOM roll. Thoughts?
