  1. After a thoroughly exhausting paint schedule over the past 10 months after hearing about the excellent new date for OFCC, where I painted all of about 30 figures :) I am finished with time to spare. Just thought I'd share that as that's a first for me and big tournament events! See y'all on Friday!
  2. Well, Creed is the best, so I guess I'll just have to do the best I can.
  3. I'm in the relaxed place of having my OFCC Team army complete as of last week, but I have a new general (fighty lord on a Dark ColdOne-asus) and a just for fun Chixecutioner that I'll use in the Open event on Friday that I have to finish in the next few days. ...then I'll fuss around with making sure I have movement trays for everybody and perhaps for some screwy formations....
  4. All:: thanks for the responses. That's pretty much what I thought in that I thought there was a general rule that essentially said that you couldn't take a character out of combat via reform or whatever....but there was always the possibility that I was thinking of an older rule set.
  5. All Sage Ordoians: Has the "Make Way" rule been clarified as to wether or not you could move a character to another spot in close combat and displace another character? (and in so doing remove that character from combat). I would interpret the rule as "no you could not" for a number of reasons. Has this been established somewhere? And if not, how do y'all play it?
  6. Now that you mention it, four of us in those shirts as a group we might well be mistaken at a distance for roadies :)
  7. So..... If a player's Mr./Ms. Lucky is alive, that player gets to reroll one d6 from one of his/her dice rolls in each phase of both players turns. If correct, that is significantly different to what is written in the rules document. It's also much simpler and easier to understand, I would think.
  8. To clarify my question, I am referring to Mr./Ms. Lucky grant #2 which addresses a reroll of a movement roll in addition to grant #1 which grants a general reroll each player turn.
  9. Forgive me if there is a thread with this stuff in it already, but here's a question: For the Kill Mr/Ms Lucky scenario, would we be correct to interpret the "reroll a charge/compulsory, etc move" as a roll for a move made by Mr./Ms. Lucky's unit (as opposed to any friendly unit)? Please clarify.....
  10. I'd do a figure for a fun cause. When I no longer have to work for a living, then we'll see about an army.
  11. I'm not sure I understand that....do you mean that a majority of models in the shooting unit have to have LOS to a target in order to shoot?
  12. Here is the final unit for my Soulcrusher girls for OFCC, a new unit of harpies. I never have cared for any of the harpy models that GW has made, which is odd because generally speaking, the DE models have been terrific to say the least over the years. Probably just unfortunate happenstance that Chris Fitzpatrick didn't make some when he was doing the DE line. Anyway, here are my new ones...
  13. OK Cool. So fire through any unit=hard cover. Now..some shooting models in the shooting unit have unobstructed LOS and some are shooting thru a unit. Who gets the penalty? Only those obstructed? Majority rules?
  14. OK, so for my continuing education about the game (and perhaps there are others who's confusion rivals my own) ...can we talk about line of sight? I've played a few games this year and have been told what seem to be different things about LOS compared to what appears to be what is written in the RB. 1). True LOS means that if a model can trace an actual line to its target, it can see it. Sounds great..... A) so you can shoot through another unit because you can always find some lines through the models....but target gets a cover penalty to hit, true? Or no? B) what about skirmishers in the second and third ranks...can they shoot through their own unit? C) intervening unit friendly or enemy....does it make a difference? Perhaps this has been covered somewhere? The RB has a few photo examples which are informative....what would be great is to compile a list of photo examples with rulings from the collective wisdom of the group. Thoughts?
  15. Excellent stuff throughout! The cloaks and epic beards look terrific.
  16. What a great thing y'all have up there! I was glad to be able to get in for a game and meet some new people. Big thanks to Eric for organizing under difficult circumstances. I had a good game against (Sean? Apologies...I am terrible with names) and his high elves. Thanks for putting up with my slow play as I get 8th edition in my brain. We both had some rather wierd dice rolling, but the game came down to the fact that the Witchlocks are really freakin good and Sean only realized how good after they had rolled up his flank and generally f'd his elves up. @Chappy (sp?). What was your paint site again?
  17. Thanks! No wonder I couldn't find it. I have the address and I think I actually have been there before in about 2003....
  18. Hey all: Is the location (WOW) a game shop, or what? I need to buy some stuff...but it doesn't look like a retail store...what is it?
