  1. Hey everyone, Not much time to go for lists to be submitted for March to War (due before March 1st). My ambition to get the Kingdoms of Equalitytane prepped for M2W is not going to happen. I simply refuse to assemble models without painting them on sprue first, and I just dont have the time to get it done in the next 4 weeks. THEREFORE!!!!! I shall be bringing the good 'ol lizards once again! Going for a less traditional approach. 4 blocks of face punch, an over priced Cuatl, and some support shooting stuff. Da List! Characters: Cuatl Lord - General - Grasp of the Immortal (gives me an additional +1 to cast and an additional channel) - Protean Ponetate (I end up with #1 spell of: Alchemy, Pyromancy, Evocation, Divination, and Druidism) - Scepter of Power (one use - Add a PD to one casting attempt after I roll da dice) - Ancient Plaque (once per magic phase - Reroll 1 casting dice) Core: 35 Saurus + Spear + Serpent (FIER + 1 Agil) + FC + Relentless Company Special: 6x Camian - Halberds + Music 6x Camian - Halberds + Music 18x Temple Guard + FC + Relentless Company Jungle G's: 10x Chamelion 8x Chamelion 2x Spearback 2x Spearback ThundaLiz: Stygiosaur + Mystic Traveller (Adept caster - pick from (Hereditary, Swarm of Insects, Savage Fury, Awaken the Beast) So we have 4 somewhat frightening blocks. Tons of movement (Camians are Adv 6!!). A bunch of buff spells (Druidism (fortitude saves), Evo (reroll to hit), Div (+2 OWS , +2 DWS, +2 Agil), Savage Fury (Battle focus), Awaken the Beast (+1S/Ap or R). As well as always 2 missiles (Quicksilver lash + fireball) and could switch the stygiosaur to half missile or all missile (has access to 2 buffs, 2 missile). I like this list because it gives me two spells to deal with SA's awful weapon skill (Evo and Div). It lacks a flaming banner to utilize flammable attribute from alchemy, but honestly its probably not that important as Camians and TG are S6 anyways. The Saurus could be buffed with +1S if needed, so id only be re-rolling a marginal number of failed to-wounds. I also feel like the magic phase is really strong. always a +2 to cast, can reroll 1 die per phase, and can add 1 die for a really important spell (which is helpful for a buff-centric list). I think if I was going to drop something, it'd be the Chamelions. The point is to get into combat FAST, so the chamelions might just be derping around. I am a bit more tempted to trade them in for Ramphadons, which seem to absorb a lot more enemy shooting (which is good for the camians). Pteradons might be the best choice since I have no chaff, they are just such darn expensive chaff!!! I have absolutely no way to deal with ethereal stuff, apart from magic missiles. I also cant really fight a lord with anything. Thoughts? Likes? Hates? Suggestions? Commentary? Jokes?
  2. Another victory for the kingdoms of equalitytane! Gaston the galant successfully led a raid on the enemies supplies. In proper fashion, the eager errants took the brunt of the enemies spear point allowing for the counter thrust of the peasant lance. Gaston found a trinket amongst the captured goods, providing him inhuman agility (+2 agility). The eager errants, although bested in battle, learned a great deal and are developing into proper knights (+1 OWS / +1 DWS)
  3. Yep, forlorns. say goodbye to your devastating charge distracting!
  4. Yep, painting paper banners sucks, I’m going with the far simpler option. PRINTED BANNERS!!!
  5. Switched it up and used Soft Tone this time I think it was the wiser choice against the white shields and tunics. Cloak still sucks though.
  6. @Ish no pre treatment for the paper? Does the paper not get over the top wrinkly?
  7. Who has done paper banners here? What is your process and why do you prefer it? I kind of want to go paper with this army.
  8. Almost there, next up is the bath. I am not sure what ill get with the white shield, but I don't do test models, I do test units. In equitytane fashion there are 3 greens, there are 8 tunics of each green, 8 shields of each green, every tunic to shield combo is represented 4 times each. Colors are evenly distributed to shield shape. I failed to achieve equalitytane parity with the weapons... shameful display....
  9. If GW rules are "professionally written" then this is most certainly bizzaro world.
  10. Painting models is what it’s all about!! is that a wooden sword on the lead goblin?
  11. Update Still have not started painting the Forlorn knights. I am going to do a myriad of green + white as a half/half vertical split. This means a lot of free hand on the edges, we shall see if this works... For this particular unit, ill be putting the airbrush away 😭. In my hobby time, I have spent the time not painting forlorn by making and basing the movement trays for what I have and started to paint the battle-yaks and a catapult which will be a stand in for a proper trebuchet until I invest the time to scratch build a treb.
  12. I am with you on the re-buying everything. I'd time it to fit outside of the core Friday events, no idea what that'll look like at this point, but ill be there all day/night. I wanted to keep it short and simple, so that people feel like they can go take a leak, or grab a beer mid game. Need a break? Get yourself killed! That's the free for all spirit! Its about making points, not denying them!
  13. I am in the musings phase of putting together a 3-or-so hour game of Xwing as a Friday event at OFCC this year. The idea is to have a Free for all, 8 players max, on one 2' x 2' board. Players would be limited to 1 ship, build would be something like 30 points. Ruleset would be first edition, and I have all 3 factions and tons of duplicate ships, really enough to field like 8 regular 150 point games at once. The idea is that players are awarded points for doing damage to each other and scoring kills. If your ship is destroyed, you respawn at the cost of a couple points. Players can take breaks, refit or totally switch out their ships and just re-enter the fray at the start of any turn. There will also be special objectives/achievements to score extra points. Tournament would be 3 rounds with as many turns as can be completed in a set time limit (45-60 min). Each player's activation will have a time limit to keep things quick and exciting, don't over think it! The first round would be a simple standard setup, mostly open space with some space debris. Second round would have custom nebula terrain with random effects to your ship if you pass through them. Last round would have a custom imperial space station at the center with NPC gun turrets and roaming NPC tie fighters using a very clever AI system. The purpose here is to just add a bit of chaos. I can supply everything needed (mat, pieces, tokens, upgrade cards, etc). I wanted to solicit interest in this sort of thing. I have already put together most of a ruleset which I feel is pretty solid. No idea on cost, but I am hoping we can keep it low. Casuals and noobs to Xwing absolutely encouraged (ill tech you how to play before the first round starts). Or hell, just learn during the firefight. Reply to this thread if you are interested.
  14. Yep, @DisruptiveConduct has volunteered to be our champion. We owe him a heavy thanks!
  15. Since everyone else is posting their lists, here is what I was thinking: Warlord: Paladin + Grail Oath + Horse + Lance + Wormwood core + Shield Retinue: Knights Aspirant x12 + Standard + Banner of the last charge 30x peasant levee 30x peasant levee 24x peasant archers Trebuchet 15x Forlorn Knights + Standard
  16. Have any more pics of them bloat flies yet? Those winged demon models look pretty rad.
