  1. Icestorm isn't NCA vs. Corregidor. NCA doesn't have Akalis, Father Knights, or Nisses, and Corregidor doesn't have Reverend Healers, Grenzers, and Spektrs. When they released Icestorm, when N3 first dropped, they intended the factions to replace the old starter packs for PanO and Nomads. It wasn't until Red Veil that they started leaning towards sectorials.
  2. I would be happy to meet you at the club. I can swing by on Tuesday night, if you're going to be there. I don't need the Redeemer bits, I have those, I just can't think of a good reason to use a Redeemer over a Crusader.
  3. Thanks! I'd be inclined to magnetize the whole thing so I could run it as either, but I genuinely can't see the point of the Redeemer variant in this edition (and with no templates, it actually seems like it's *better* now than it was before.)
  4. Here's the sprue showing the missing piece. I suppose I could build it out as a Redeemer if I had to, but I can't think of a compelling reason to do so unless I absolutely can't get that hurricane bolter bit.
  5. Man, I really wish I could afford a new compressor (or to figure out how to get that hose off after 30+ years and a generous application of plumber's tape on the threads) so I can use mine. I got a lot of models to paint...
  6. I'll consider that if it comes to it, thanks!
  7. So I recently acquired a new on sprue Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer. I want to build it out as the Crusader, but the one and only thing that's missing from this sprue is half of one of the hurricane bolters. Everything else is there, just half of the damn hurricane bolter. Anyone have a spare they'd be willing to part with? Let me know what you want in trade. Thanks!
  8. Nah, I got family I can crash with if needed. I'll give it some thought and make a decision later.
  9. "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so."
  10. Oh Jay, I'd never call you a ho. Our special relationship goes so far beyond that...
  11. I remember those BRB lists in 3rd ed... I don't recall the Necrons ever actually getting a real codex to support them for years, did they?
  12. @Raindog When are we going to find out the format, at least, for the Rampage? I'd like to be able to start building and painting now, so that by the time it rolls around I can have my shizz in order. It's only a couple months away...
  13. There any tickets left for this shebang?
  14. Typically, Sundays are Infinity days at WOW. Doors are usually open at about 3 or so, depending on when someone gets there to unlock the door, and then we play until 6-8 or so. Sometimes we all go out to a pub or something afterwards for drinks and merriment.
  15. I used to bring a note pad with me to game night and jot down who was under what number. Over time, I just learned to keep track (and also started playing with fewer camo markers, though that's likely to change with TAK.)
  16. I think that's dumb. When doggo dies, the unit he was attached to should get +1 attack it something for the rest of the game. Guard squad goes nuts John Wick style when the mascot goes down.
  17. Played with Jeff (Ninefingers, I think?) and lost horribly. Again, these Ordo dice hate me. Also, note to self: while the Blood God would certainly approve, charging my melee specialists forward turn one to get shot to bits before they can do anything is probably a bad idea. He had I believe two codes, I had one. We were both broken, but by the end of it, the last four guys I had on the board were too busy quivering with fear to do anything, and we called it at that point. Unless I'm mistaken, he had 10 VP (2 codes, 5 enemies out of action, and 3 for me being broken) and I had 7 (1 code, 3 enemies OOA, and 3 for him being broken.)
  18. I'll be there with 8-pointed bells on for Kill Team.
  19. I mean, yeah, if you stretch the definition of "starter" a little, you can count Gorkamorka. But that's not a 40k starter, it's a specialist game set in the 40k universe with model crossover.
  20. Question for @Khail : Will the new classified decks be in use, or the old ones?
  21. The Artisans of Blood are a small band of rogues and heretics that have been troubling sector after sector for centuries. Though few in number, their skills, viciousness, and devotion to the Dark Gods have made them a terrible blight on the face of the Imperium. Serving no higher master than the Ruinous Powers themselves, the Artisans seek little but to sow destruction and madness, and spill blood for the favor of their dark lords. They are led by Bloodlord Zephyrus Lorikkar, a loyal servant of Khorne and a brutal master of close combat. Zephyrus rules his companions with a blood-soaked iron fist, brooking no insolence, cowardice, or failure. His right hand man is Balemar the Hound, an incredibly violent madman who derives joy from little but the din and blood of war. Balemar's chainsword has gutted friend and foe alike, well aware that the Blood God cares little about whose blood is spilled, merely that it runs in rivers. Xander Nul currently holds the mantle of the warband's best marksman, his bedeviled plasma gun incinerating anything that falls within his sights with the heat of a thousand suns. He claims that his aim is guided by Tzeentch himself, and those who have witnessed his preternatural marksmanship are left with the impression that he may well be right. Little is known about the lunatic Shass, save that he derives unnatural pleasure from setting his foes alight with burning promethium. His post-battle ritual of eating the burnt skins of his victims like pork rinds is sickening even to his compatriots, but none dare interrupt his ecstatic cannibalism, for fear that they may be next on the menu. At any given time, the Artisans are followed by an ever-fluctuating pack of mewling sycophants, seeking the favor of the Dark Gods. Zephyrus tolerates them, as their base spaniel fawning pleases his dark masters, and their manic antics amuse him. In addition, they can be useful when their lives are spent properly. Typically, these wretches don't last long, but there is one particularly tenacious worm that has annoyingly managed to stay alive and even prove himself to be valuable enough to keep around. The cultist Dromus Macen has the perfect combination of attributes to survive the brutal lifestyle of the Artisans of Blood; ambitious enough to seek Khorne's favor, sensible enough to know where and when to limit his ambition, and skilled enough (or perhaps, ever so slightly touched by the Lord of Blood himself) to keep up with the ferocious Heretic Astartes his follows into battle. The Artisans had been ambushed, subdued, and taken into custody by agents of the Ordo Hereticus, and then placed on the Black Ship upon which they currently travelled. The Bloodlord was uncertain why the cowardly lapdogs of the false emperor had chosen to imprison him and his warriors rather than merely kill them. Perhaps they were simply too afraid to do so. In any case, his corrupted soul was joyous, for this was a chance to earn the favor of the Blood God. Clearly, it was his destiny to put every living being on this garbage scow to the blade, alien, loyalist, or otherwise. (Pics to follow, once I get my models painted) Roster: Aspiring Champion - Leader, mark of Khorne, plasma pistol, power sword Chaos cultist champion - Combat specialist, mark of Khorne, autopistol & brutal assault weapon Chaos space marine gunner - Sniper specialist, mark of Tzeentch, plasma gun Chaos space marine gunner - Demolitions specialist, mark of Slaanesh, flamer Chaos space marine - Zealot specialist, bolt pistol, chainsword, mark of Khorne, Icon of Wrath Chaos cultist fire team - 2 cultists with autoguns, 1 with autopistol/CCW, 1 gunner with heavy stubber, all with mark of Khorne Chaos space marine fireteam - 1 with bolt pistol/chainsword & mark of Khorne, 1 with bolter and Icon of Vengeance, and 1 with boltgun and mark of Khorne
  22. Cool, so I just have to keep an eye on point costs a little bit to make sure I don't paint myself into a corner for that 100 point roster. Thanks!
  23. Question on creating your command roster: I know the limit is 12 duderz to start, but is there any limit on what/who/how much they are? Like, is there a certain point limit I have to stay within for the command roster, or can I just grab 12 randos off the street with whatever I want them to have?
  24. Huh. That makes the Father Knight FO profile considerably better, actually. I might have to try fielding him with that. If I can pry myself away from the amazing AHD profile...
