  1. I was thinking it might be useful to transfer the Archetypes from the rulebook onto proper character record sheets. That should make it easier to play with them, since all the important math will be done in advance. I've attached the Adept to this post. I'll knock out the rest of them over the next week. The archetypes in the main rulebook are the Physical Adept, Combat Mage, Covert Ops, Decker, Face, Rigger, Street Samurai, Street Shaman, Technomancer, and Weapons Specialist. I think the Combat Mage, as written, is a bit of an odd duck since she's actually a Shaman and not a Hermetic... In fact, none of the archetypes in the rulebook are Hemetics! I think I might make a generic Former Wage Mage and a generic Mystic Adept to round things out. Remake Adept II.pdf
  2. Of course, I'm just another player and it's @Inquisitor66 who has the final say as he's our GM. So take my input with a grain of salt, chummer.
  3. It's not worded very well in the book, but no, you do not need to pay Karma for the Racial Qualities that come with your Metatype. Nor do they count towards the six Qualities at character creation limit. They are, essentially, free. It should also be pointed out that if you have Racial Qualities that are tied to your natural body, like the low-light vision of elves, you will lose that ability if you replace that body part with cyberware. So an elf with cybereyes can no longer see in the dark... at least, not unless you also buy low-light or thermographic vision mods for said cybereyes.
  4. Just to add a bit more detail, here's a good chart of the most common Ordinaries used in heraldry. An ordinary is a simple geometrical figure, made up of straight lines that run from side to side or top to bottom of the shield. Although these can resemble the divisions of the field (that I posted on the last page) these are actually considered to be charges on the field. Again, for war gaming purposes shields made with just Ordinaries are pretty easy to paint on small shields and they look great. Sure, we all like things like lions, dragons, fleur-de-lys, and other charges. But those are really tricky to paint and water-slide decals get really pricey if you are trying to do a whole army. If you just replicate the designs above, replace the white bits with any color or metal or your choice and replace the blue bit with the opposite type. If you look at most of the national flags of western Europe (the rules for flag design, known as vexillology, are basically a direct decedent of the rules for heraldry) you'll see that most of them are made as just simple divisions of the field or they're made up of just simple ordinaries. England's is argent a cross gules (white field, red cross); Scotland's is azure a saltire argent (blue field, white saltire); France is tierced per pale gules argent and azure (divided into three vertical stripes red, white, and blue); Germany is tierced per fess sable gules and or (divided into three horizontal stripes black, red, and gold).
  5. I dunno. It’s pretty typical of English that we add a “-y“ suffix to nouns and adjectives to form adjectives meaning “having the quality of.” Mess becomes messy, hair becomes hairy, mouse becomes mousy. So you’ve got chevron and chevrony... Totally logical.
  6. I’m just gonna leave This here...
  7. Edgar Ætheling was elected as successor to King Harold by the by the Witenagemot on 15 October 1066. Technically, that makes him the last Saxon King of England... But he was never crowned, never governed, and “bent the knee” to William the Bastard on 17 December 1066. But Saga: Age of Vikings gives us a chance to rewrite that history... And yes, I play Saxons. Cyneþrymm Westseaxna!

  9. All you need for Shadowrun is pencil, paper, and a fistful of D6’s...
  10. Exorcist Real Name Siobhan O'DonovanTeam Role Face / Magical Support Ethnicity & Metatype Irish-American Elf Born 2052 Sex Female Height 6'0" Weight 150 lbs. DescriptionChristian Theurgists are generally uncomfortable around spirits and summoning, Siobhan O'Donovan is one of the few exceptions to that rule. Orphaned after her parents where victims of the Universal Brotherhood incident of 2055, Siobhan was taken in by a Catholic orphanage just outside of Chicago. When she was in her early teens, her latent magical talent began to manifest and she was taken in by the Order of St. Sylvester. The Order of St. Sylvester is a Catholic-ordained order of monks, priests, and lay people dedicated to the use of beneficial magic, promote magical awareness within the Church, and to investigate magical phenomena.O'Donovan was educated up to a high school graduate by the Order, but given more in-depth schooling on magical theory and exorcism rites. Since taking to the shadows, under the name of Exorcist, O'Donovan has earned a rep for taking on a wide variety of mission ranging from the charitable to the reprehensible. But whatever she does, there's always a certain tinge of moral superiority of a holy crusader.Exorcist has cultivated a large network of friends, allies, and associates in her short-time in Seattle. Most are the short of shady, street-level ne'er-do-wells that most folks in the shadows seem to know... 11. Basically, just set up the story so that they're there -- We don't want to completely alienate (pun intended) such a significant portion of the player-base -- just frame the story so that the focus of the narrative isn't on them. When the Third War for Armageddon or the Eye of Terror world-wide campaigns were being waged, the focus was Imperium vs. Orcs and Imperium vs. Chaos... But they found ways to loop in the other factions and give them something to do. They should just flip that around. Point the camera, metaphorically speaking, in a different direction. At least for one event...
  12. I'd like to see their next big "event" revolve around a conflict that doesn't have Chaos as the instigator and puts the Space Marines in a supporting rile. Have a Tyranid hive-fleet invade the Tau Empire and threaten T'au itself; Have both Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka and Asdrubael Vect throw down; Do something, anything, with the Necrons...
  13. It’s time for the glorious return of the Squats! For the homeworlds!
  14. I’m going to be there for @Inquisitor66’s Shadowrun game, but I’ll schlep my Gaslands stuff over too.
  15. I’m familiar with that Base Sizes document, but as you said yourself it’s a suggestion. “Don’t worry – you don’t have to rebase your model if it is not on the suggested base unless you want to (that’s why these are suggested base sizes rather than mandatory ones).” That’s right there on page one of the document. That’s why I said that “[t]here is absolutely no requirement in the actual Age of Sigmar rules regarding base size or shape.” Because there is no requirement, there is only a list of suggested sizes, and that list of suggested sizes isn’t in the actual rules.

  17. Dividing your player-based into two mutually exclusive camps just ain't a smart business move.
  18. In my experience, most casual players won’t really care and even most of the competitor guys will roll with it if you say “I didn’t want to rebase my old WHFB army” and/or “I also use them for 9th Age.” There’s bound to be one or two That Guy types at any large event who might give you [big bad swear word], but they’re That Guy so I wouldn’t worry. No one likes That Guy.
  19. There is absolutely no requirement in the actual Age of Sigmar rules regarding base size or shape. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Bupkis. Individual tournament organizers may add base requirements or restrictions as “house rules,” but that’s a separate issue.
  20. We don't really have a "Random Links" thread, but I still thought I'd share this: The Internet Movie Firearms Database 23,673 articles all about the guns that appear in various films, television series, anime, and video games. Enjoy.
  21. Go fully meta with the "porject." Paint up Tactical Marine Squads in imperial livery, like Ultramarines and Space Wolves, but replace their chapter badge pauldrons with Alpha Legion.
  22. Sound & Fury is actually my second-favorite post-apocalyptic, psychedelic, rockabilly samurai film... Because, I guess that’s a genre now. My favorite is still Six-String Samurai... In 1957, the Cold War went hot and the U.S. and U.S.S.R. nuked each other. The only remaining bastion of civilization and freedom in America was a shining city in the desert known as Lost Vegas... and Elvis was crowned king. Years later, the King is dead. Every sword-swingin’, guitar-pickin’ warrior in the wastelands is coming to Lost Vegas to try to become the new King of Rock-n-Roll. But can anybody stand against the power of Heavy Metal?
  23. Although I think that the Kroot, the Sisters of Silence, and the Inquisition all have the potential for being turned into full codices... I also kind of feel like there’s too many factions already.
  24. The logical thing to do with Inquisitors, Sisters of Silence, and the like is to fold them into other codices.
