pretre
Picture leakI dont know which have been seen already so only posting a few of the new ones (Tau fortification)Source: http://www.gamestrust.de/uploads/inline/pic-44756-popup.jpg and http://www.gamestrust.de/tabletop/produkt,bilder,warhammer-40-000-sternenreich-tau,id1479.html
pretre
On a more serious note this text confirms that the platform is floating and can actually move around on the battlefield - advancing to and withdrawing from the enemy - if need be.
AbusePuppy
...Huh. I'm not really even sure what to think of that. A mobile fortification?

WestRider
So, can this one benefit from Scout? ;)
InfestedKerrigan
So, can this one benefit from Scout? ;) Are you asking GW, ITC, FW, the populous, or a FLGS TO? GW says something incomprehensible. ITC says lets vote. FW says Always! The populous cries Cheese. TO bans the model, citing not allowing other Fortification Formations as precedence.
AbusePuppy
DakkaDakka has a sixty-page rules thread on the subject arguing about whether your opponent having Scout allows you to redeploy your fortification.
InfestedKerrigan
Is there a RAW argument for it that makes sense after a few beers?
WestRider
Is there a RAW argument for it that makes sense after a few beers? I'm pretty sure that one requires whiskey.
Lord Hanaur
I think Im missing the thrust of this segment of the thread. What is the issue? I havent read the rules in English yet.
InfestedKerrigan
I think Im missing the thrust of this segment of the thread. What is the issue? I havent read the rules in English yet. Can a Grav Platform Fortification that is mobile Scout? And Can you use your opponents Scout Rules to reposition Your fortification. So, by extension, can you use your opponents Scout Rules to Scout Move your Tau Grav Platform.
Lord Hanaur
Why would your opponents scout ability confer to YOUR units? Lol.

pretre
Didn't see English versions, but I admit I haven't read every page :) Here is the text of the 2 pages on Tidewall, specifically, those that mention that (a) it can move and (b) it reflects shots back on the attackers. How it can advance and withdraw as required: How it can "deflect incoming fire, often with devastating results for the attackers":
Lord Hanaur
SOUNDS epic. The whole thing just fills me with joy because the aesthetic is Tau and the usefulness as just normal terrain is there, but to have it actually be ueful otherwise? Whuuuuuuuuut. I don't know how much Fire Warrior Spamming i really feel like doing BUT its still pretty damn cool.

InfestedKerrigan
"The very first plastic Citadel Scenery piece ever made for an alien race." So, the Tyranid Scenery Pieces I used to have aren't alien?
AbusePuppy
Those were in resin, not plastic, weren't they? Or do you mean the dinky little "hive nodes" that came with Battle for Macragge?
InfestedKerrigan
The Box Set stuff and the Sprue stuff that came with various Nid sets. It's no where near the same scale as this Tau release, by any means. Not the Towers or breeding pool that FW used to make, like you said, those were resin. Brother Glacius
The very first thing I thought of when I read that platform description was an entire Tau battleline being hung up on a rock. Very cool stuff. I can almost imagine the meeting where they discussed pricing for it.... "So how do we get a fortification to cost so much....." "I know, we'll let it move!" Have to admit, its utility does make it tempting. :)
