wildcat
New tau commander suite? does not look like the fine cast spook(pose) suite that is on the GW site. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Tau-Empire-XV8-Battlesuit-Commander Firewarrior going up in price nearly $14, wow. spagunk
Yeah, if you want to be cheap firewarriors, you may have to buy them now. 50 for 2 less guys may not sit well for some people. Unless they are going to have both boxes but that's not how GW works.

InfestedKerrigan
Linked suit's second photo has it in a box labeled Citadel Finecast You missed what he said. He linked for comparison. New model pictured above. Not the Finecast model linked.
Brother Glacius
Cool stuff. I'll get the book. I can afford that. :)
spagunk
Man, I really want to start a small tau detachment so I can grab the cheap firewarriors before this hits but I have so many Blood Angels to work on!!!!
Brother Glacius
Actually, I'll have to get a box of the new guys just to make at least one unit of breachers. Plus I'll get the new drones and missile pod in that box. The rest will have to wait. GW must have realized what a deal the old campaign boxes were and have now vowed to never again sell something of good value. :)
pretre
I imagine the breacher bits will be usable with old fire warriors. That might make the value even better.
Guest
GW must have realized what a deal the old campaign boxes were and have now vowed to never again sell something of good value. :) As much as I think GW is against good value, I don't think that's the issue here. For most armies, you'd buy multiples of the campaign box to fill out an army. Lately, TAU players buy a single box of fire warriors (12 models) and never buy any other troops ever again. The campaign box only has value if it encourages players to buy lots of them. A tau campaign box would be lacking with any troops included, because the troops would count against the value of the set for multiple purchases. It would be pointless. Plus, christmas is coming, so if they did a campaign box, they should wait a month or two for release.
pretre
It is important to note that these are not true campaign boxes in the way that Stormclaw or DV, etc were. These are just army bundles associated with a campaign.

pretre
Maybe I misunderstood, I thought he was commenting about the lack of TAU campaign box. No, he's lamenting the value of the campaign box.
Brother Glacius
No, we are pointing out that the stormclaw box had two forces in it, and was quite the deal for the price. These new campaign boxes are crap in comparison.

Lord Hanaur
I dont know if that's WHY.
pretre
I dont know if that's WHY. It's a pretty safe assumption. Campaign boxes tend to have two forces and a discount for the combined box. Force boxes (models from the same army) tend not to have discounts. Force boxes (models from the same army) tend not to have discounts. They did do a series of them for a while a year or so ago that were about a 20% discount or so. The Tomb Awakened for Necrons, there was some Blood Angels one, an Ultramarines one, I think a few more.
pretre
And this one is comparable, right? 10% or so? Just not super awesome like a campaign box.
WestRider
No, this one's just like $10, not even 10%. And the Campaign boxes were an even better deal than those if I remember right. Something like 35-40% off.

AbusePuppy
$10 is about 10% in this case. :P
WestRider
10/140~7%, which is only "about 10%" with some pretty generous rounding. I haven't done the math on the Tau box, that one may be closer.
AbusePuppy
I guess I was thinking of the Tau box (since this is the Tau thread), which is $110 I believe and saves you roughly $10.
