In regards to the rule that only half of your units can be put into reserve.... The drop pod counts as a unit separate from the unit inside it, correct? And a unit of 10 that is destined to be combat squad-ed still only counts as one unit? Just trying to make certain that I understand things correctly.

From a game mechanics perspective, I like the balance between risk/reward. Ensure getting the charge but risk overwatch? Or risk failing the charge to avoid overwatch? Cool decision. From a theme perspective, it makes absolutely no sense. An enemy charging across a longer distance is less likely to get shot while they run in? Still, it is what it is, and at least it'll work well mechanically. I just like it when mechanics and theme play nice together.

A question about making detachments in a battle-forged army: Do all of the Faction Keywords need to match, or just one of them? For the Eldar, all flavors of Eldar have the "Aeldari" faction keyword. Does that mean Dark Eldar, Eldar, and Harlequins can be mixed and matched in the same detachment? If so, the Ynnari army rule that you can mix Aeldari units of all stripes seems unnecessary, unless that's just a way to get them Strength from Death.

Questions! I have questions! Any word on how jump packs will work in 8th? I'm assuming Deep Strike, but am curious about the possibility for increased movement in the movement and/or charge phases. My suspicion is that the charge move will still be 2d6, else charging out of reserve could be too much of a sure thing for jump pack troops. Also, the Forge World Xenos Index looks like it will have Eldar and Dark Eldar entries, but I don't see any sign of a full Eldar Corsair list. Any ideas about what will happen to the unique Forge World lists (that aren't just add-ons to existing armies)?

Just saw this! From all accounts, Roger Moore was supposed to be a wonderful human being. Octopussy was the first Bond film I saw so, while I love Sean Connery, I always thought of Moore as the original Bond when I was a kid.

For this, I'd like to avoid Kickstarter. Running a small boutique resin-casting company I can do. Game publishing, manufacturing, distribution and sales? I'd rather leave that to folks who know what they're doing!

Corey, my guess is that Kevin's marines go to Brad. Kevin offered his marines to Brad, you offered to take them, and Brad accepted Kevin's offer. For me, I'm keeping both! More marines for my Raven Guard, more Nurgle for my Chaos, and a hardback rule book. There's nothing in the starter I don't want or like!

We just got the word in that Brad's board game Kingmaker made the finals at the Kublacon convention in San Francisco this weekend. Playtesters will rate it over the course of three days and we'll find out on Monday whether it placed 5th-2nd! Good luck, Brad! Reposting because my post might get lost in Brad's. We both made it!

I demand a field trip report from the Horseshoe! I'd totally be down with making R&R work, but I'm worried about the effect on my under-employed Warhamster brethren. The prices are on the high side for Bellingham. Still, I'd love to support them and could think of no more fitting place for gamers than a gaming bar.

Nah. I'm going to paint the [big bad swear word] out of those Nurgle models. I love that the hardback is in the boxed set - it saves me having to make an extra purchase. Looks like my Raven Guard and my Chaos Marines will be getting some new recruits!
