  1. I realize I didn't give a very good explanation of why I locked this thread. Apologies for that! While I think most would agree that this rather ... unusual... letter is relevant to our nerdly interests, PETA is a political activist organization. We generally try and restrict discussion around political issues to the Realm of Chaos. I'd not want to set a precedent that it's OK to mock political organizations in Warpspace, even if they ... write letters like this. The same standard would apply if the Heritage Foundation asked GW to stop feeding all of their unwanted psykers to the Golden Throne.
  2. I'm pretty sure I have lists for 1850 and 2000, so whichever of those works best for you. If it's OK with you, I'll bring a basic CAD (Nurgle Marines) with allies (Nurgle daemons). Looking forward to it!
  3. I don't think I'm ready for another round of playtesting yet. I got in a couple of rounds this weekend (a 3-player and a 2-player), and have some more thinking/changes to do before it's ready for the table. I'm honestly kind of in the mood for a big-army game. I could do 40k or 30k (Brendan?), or Ninth Age, or teach Blood Bowl. Brad, I'm also willing to sub in for your card game whenever needed. It's fast and fun and I'm excited to see how it plays with 5. If I'm playing a big army game, I'll try and convince my opponent to take a 30 minute break for some Kingmaker.
  4. Already a topic in the Realm of Chaos. Please head over there to continue the discussion! http://www.ordofanaticus.com/index.php?/topic/29823-peta-and-games-workshop/
  5. Lower prices. Including $4 Mac and Jacks and $5 White Pizzas. And other stuff, which I'll never eat. https://www.nypbarandgrill.com/menu/happy-hour/
  6. Holy smokes, Kevin! Well written, and well done. Congrats!
  7. Thank you all so much for last night! The session was incredibly useful from my perspective. Being able to watch the play, fantastic feedback, great ideas, etc. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Don't feel obligated, but I'll definitely be hitting you (and other Warhamsters) up for more help in the nearish-future. If anything else occurs to you, please don't hesitate to share it! Don't feel that you have to have specific suggestions (though if so, please share); vague feelings or emotional responses to certain actions or components are also great grist for the mill. Awesome, thanks! I've added it to the list of stuff on which to chew for the next iteration.
  8. Damnit, that sounds damn good. Though, did you back Blades in the Dark? Same concept, but a bit darker, and it nails the flashback scene better than anything I've seen before. Pretre, google "Honor Among Thieves Kickstarter"
  9. Hells yes it would, in the best way possible! If you play Dwarfs, they are a rock-solid team, and you can play me with Warhammer figs any day of the week. Dwarfs have a relentless running game, and do the "ignore the ball and kill the opponent first, then score when the other team is dead" better than most. I'm happy to give you a learning game if you'd like. I think you'd love the unforgivable press-your-luck character of the game.
  10. Happy birthday Miles! I pulled together a group of gullible fools eager volunteers to critically eviscerate thoughtfully evaluate what will hopefully become my entry into this year's KublaCon Game Design Contest. I'll be doing that this evening, else Nurgle would certainly reign supreme over the Old World.
  11. Sweet! That's a full 4. Thanks, thanks, and thanks again! Let's plan to start at 6:30. I'll be certain to have everything set up ahead of time. Please keep in mind this is an early playtest, as such, I reserve the right to change rules mid-game, or potentially scrap things and start again. Looking forward to it!
  12. Sweet! Looks great! Coach Name: Jim Graham Team Race: Chaos Dwarf Team Name: The Gash Kadrak Facegashers Motto: Make the Old World Great Again. Contact: PM this site, or jmgraham12@gmail.com. Available to play most Tuesday evenings.
  13. Don, I'm so sorry! Paige and Erin left on time to be there 15 minutes early. With the march snarling traffic, they ended up getting there 15 minutes late and couldn't find anyone to gain access. I totally dropped the ball with not giving them your number, figuring they'd be there in plenty of time. They're super disappointed. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
  14. Cool, thanks! Does a 6:30 start time give folks enough time to get there? Or is earlier, say 6, ok? If it takes about an hour and a half, it should leave plenty of time for another board game afterwards. Speaking of which, Brad, if you and Kevin are done with your epic rap battle, do you want to get some reps of Kingmaker in?
  15. Nothing wrong with Wood Elves! In league play, they win games, but get crippled by bruiser teams. My Wood Elves and Chaos Dwarfs are painted, and I'd be happy to get the Gask Kadrak Facegashers back on the field. How long are you thinking? I'm up for a games on most Tuesday nights, though likely not this week or next. Russ - I'm sorry to hear that! Hope to see you healthy and around again soon!
  16. Thanks, Brendan! Very much appreciated! The plan is to try and play with 3 or 4, and while I can play, I'd rather watch. So, there's room for 1 or 2 more.
  17. Yea! Thanks! Khan, there's a protospiel in Portland, so I'd actually love to come down. Can't, though. :(
  18. Yarb - maybe the weekend you're up here! Also, I promise epic facial hair and a creepy little girl!
  19. I'm working on a game design idea to submit to the KublaCon design contest again this year, and am woefully behind in getting stuff together. With the end of the Mordheim campaign, I was hoping to get 3 to 4 brave souls to play a round of the game this coming Tuesday, 1/24? The prototype is currently called "Dark Curios". In it, you are a broker of occult oddities. It's part auction game and part worker placement, with a little bit of set collection. You obtain arcane artifacts through auctions, private sales, and occasional outright thievery. You can send your agents out on various tasks and can use the powers of the curios you possess to gain advantage over your opponents. Ultimately, you need to find the right collectors to which to sell your curios, in an attempt to maximize your profit. In the end, the player with the most money wins. I eventually want to the game to take about 60 minutes, but I'd plan for 90 minutes or so for this run-through. The game has changed substantially after each playtest, and I'm hoping that it will stabilize sometime soon. I can't promise you that it will be fun, but I can promise you that I'll appreciate your feedback and time, and that you'll have the opportunity to marvel over my hand-drawn artifacts. Anyone game?
  20. Hey Don, Paige's Explorer's Club outing was rescheduled, so she's back in, if that's OK. Currently Erin (my wife) and Paige (my 13 y.o.) are planning on coming. Theyre looking forward to it!
  21. I'll be there - a bit late (more like 6 or 6:30) with Mordheim in hand!
  22. Is good? Sounds like a poor WoD clone. To provide perspective, some of those "most anticipated" games have been on that annual list for a few years. Still, I'm stoked about Trudvang.
