  1. I've seen previous integrations of smartphone and board game with mixed results. It's a fun gimmick but you still need good game design. I can't really tell if it's just a fighting game with an alternate interface or if there is more strategy to it. I'd agree that something like pokemon could work really well.
  2. Yo. My brother wants to buy your Jyhad collection. I have no idea what these things are valued at so interested parties should PM and I will get you in contact. Also, if anyone has interest in playing we are hosting various card games at our clubhouse.
  3. In my experience brushes are far better than pens for this particular task. Water transfers are also good.
  4. I'd like to request A Feast for Odin if possible.
  5. So me and my brother have a gaming space in Beaverton where we host boardgames, card games and video game tournaments. We are probably putting together a miniature game night as well. Likely wednesday or thursday. It's still in formation but I figured I'd solicit input in case. I've got about a dozen people informally pledged to participate at present.
  6. Because I'm a masochist I'm reading an annotated translation of Being in Time by Martin Heidegger for a book club. It's awesome and horrible at the same time. I can't really explain. I'm not sure if anyone can.
  7. We have our first open gaming event tomorrow 1/14. 6pm 13885 sw farmington rd. Beaverton OR.
  8. Kind of an odd comparison. Different genres and all.
  9. I left a 20 year job to join a family business. It's not the right fit for everyone but my experience has been very good.
  10. It will be a part of our existing business but I don't plan on charging money for game events.
  11. I would recommend magic sculpt or some other product that is? 1. water soluble. 2. Sandable and 3. Non Shrinking. (I will echo Scotts recommendations also) For flat gaps I mix up just over what I will need to fill the gap, apply with water, let set for about a minute, shave with some flat surface like the edge of a slotta base, check and fix any fissures, let dry and finally sand with a small square of fine grit.
  12. I can host a west side game night if there is enough interest.
  13. As some of you know I run a video game store with my brother in Beaverton OR. This week we acquired the lease to the space next door. We plan to have board games, card games and space for events of various kinds. (miniatures are possible but nothing is arranged as of yet) We are also looking for active collaborators. As I don't check this forum with great regularity I'd recommend a PM on Facebook (same handle) Note that I'm not looking for investors but just people who have some interest in getting in on the ground floor of a new venture and have good ideas. So far we have a video arcade lined up and probably a barista. https://www.facebook.com/RetroGameTrader/?fref=ts
  14. Pappy Van Winkle neat with a tonic chaser. Thanks Weav!
  15. Nice. Is this pretty stable? You think you could drybrush or dip without them falling off?
  16. I've been eyeing it closely. I saw that it just went on sale. I'm all about spaceships these days.
  17. the new dwarfs look pretty solid.
  18. I'm not quite ready to spring for the box quite yet. Anyone got a set of orcs they want to trade or sell?
  19. https://apps.quanticfoundry.com/lab/ No real surprises but it might be a good way to find new games.
  20. Any qualified tech support person should put you on hold for at least thirty minutes. A guy who wants to steal your identity isn't that patient.
  21. It's weird. I'm super picky and spend a lot of money on coffee for home but I'm so addicted I get a shiver every time I smell it... even the nasty kind.
