There are a decent number of good armor hitty things... but not much with shooting.

NtK, If there are any of these players in our area I don't know of them. Not that I am at too many events, but I don't even hear stories on Ordo of "That douche I played the other day..." Maybe I missed it, but the elusive player that does this may or may not be Bigfoot. Or maybe it is that Ordo is the cool community and there is a shadow community of dicks out there... Anyway, the only place I have seen the tactic is on the interwebz... and more people worrying about it than people suggesting it as a valid tactic. Now if facing one... Engage to the front with an armor killer (that gives you about 6 models attacking to his 2), or kill the unit with shooting/spells, flank charge it with something nasty (remember he'll have no supporting attacks )... how about a cannon ball? Anyway, we all know the rest of the army (and yours) will matter on how you can deal with it, but there are certainly ways, and as others say, "Junk Punch" is the best.

I'll b e bringing my Dwarven tank. Still not positive what I am fielding it as. Two years ago I did a Cygor but the problem is it turned out to be a high cost grudge thrower that could do nothing in combat... Just not sure of another monster that is fitting for a tank.

They did a tabletop episode with it a while back for anyone who wants to have a look-see.

It says they lose the bonus if they are "somehow" allied with a wizard. It is pretty vague as if to cover any house or future rule.

The old models (in the OP) were never "good" but the newer versions have been far far worse.

I used a horde of 30 in my first battle, they were pretty bad ass. Went up against a slightly whittled 8x4 unit of Black Orcs with Lord and BSB (I had my lord too) and left them with less than the front rank. 5 WS Hatred with 6 strength and an extra rank is just nasty.

Funny story... Those are Chaos Daemons. The Mixed Chaos Book had harpies (Slaanesh's fault I am sure) before the Dark Elves did. They were a Daemon flier. Later, they renamed the Chaos Harpies to Furies to distinguish them from the dark elf version. I have a frickin pile of those dudes. Also, those wings make awesome quick chaos jump pack conversions...

For me, I went Nurgle because after buying a bunch of chaos stuff from a guy, I looked at my daemons and his daemons and they were almost entirely Nurgle (not enough to field of single core unit of anything else) and the last version Daemon book was due in a couple months and I was all "Holy Crap! I can do all Nurgle!!!". And so rules unseen I painted up an all Nurgle army.

Damn Jim, that is a lot of smooth-on!

If you go all nurgle, you'll want some drones in there too.

We'd be coming in in the evening Friday the 2nd and packing up before the event Sunday morning the 4th of May. Pretty much be at Dark Tower during waking hours unless some one drags us somewhere else in the evenings. Jim, your house is the most awesomest crash pad ever! Even with all the Canadians! I think, and I could be wrong, that models suffering from fear "fight at an Weapon Skill of 1". As in if I have a magic item that gives me a bonus weapon skill, too bad, failed fear means I have a 1. Unfortunately I do not have my book to confirm this, but that is my recollection.

Why you!!! You!!!! You!!!!! :P I grabbed the one posted earlier. While the quality could be better it is a temp mini until Wyrd puts out bayou gators which I do not expect before Waldpurgis.

Munkie, Dwarf Warriors are Str 3... are you thinking Longbeards? As to the HW/shield Warriors, I have not put them on the table, but they certainly got better... same cast and either +1 S or +1 parry and possible hatred on the first round is good. The ability to easily add armor piercing and Magic resistance is a nice bonus too. I am not sure if point for point they are as good as longbeards but they will (barring terrible dice) out perform there previous incarnation certainly. Oathstones are looking like a good option for them also... side charge? No problem! I think Ironbreakers are looking much better than they have for a while. That 5+ all the time parry seems pretty nice. They are still a bit spendy and longbeards (with immune to psych and panic rerolls for others) are still probably better, but it seems to me like the gap has narrowed.

I am in and gave a code to Marcalla and bkieft. I just played a little... not bad but really hard to aim. going to turn it off and go do homework now.

Good stuff. Many, many many years ago I had that set of Tamiya walls... man, those are some old molds (maybe redone, who knows).

I'd go 3 deep... unless you are talking really tiny games.
