  1. You're not missing anything. This is a bad use of kickstarter and needs to fail badly. In theory he has a working product which connects to Android but wants to extend to iOS and is using Kickstarter to defray his conversion costs (although $28,000 to do that seems like he is getting ripped off to me). Personally, that sounds like a go-fund-me to me. Of course, on top of that he lists their website in the kickstarter information and if you go to that website it gives similar information but there is no way to order the android-based product either so who knows... Actually seems to be a reasonably good idea but looks horribly mismanaged from what I can find.

    Snow!

Come to Mexico and join us... No snow, 80 degrees this afternoon. I have the windows open and we're eating fresh fruit daily. Sadly, I think gaming tonight is cancelled because it is snowing in Seattle as well (and I game Friday nights via Skype with my old gaming group up there)... I kinda miss it but I'm hearing numbers like a foot plus of snow out at my old house which does not make me miss it much.
  3. Ummm, ok... I hate to say this but.... <meh> Don't get me wrong, I love the Mechanicus and they're citing The Black Library and all but a trailer, even one with a cool James Earl Jones knock-off voice-over, does not make a game. They have said nothing anywhere about the game style, scope, story-line, interaction or even the programmers (not on steam and not on their own site). We know a publisher (with no history of 40K games) and the one tag that they put in the steam page of "Strategy". This is the worst kind of hype advertizing... They don't have a game, they have an intro video, and yet they are going to have rabid fanbois committed to buying whatever pile of dreck they produce.
  4. Oh, Romans... I am so sorry for you. Hope you enjoy the new machine but... PUBG... Really?
  5. Is Elex an MMO (i.e. persistent) or is it a shared sandbox without end-game and persistence? Your comment about having replayability caught me off guard unless you mean something like "You can level multiple characters because of the differences in how it plays because of the factions and the dialog options".
  6. State governments are also good... You still have the "is it funded this year" issue just like you do with the feds but it offers a number of alternatives which are more stable.

    Darn it!

LOL, Impressive necro skills, Infested.... So do you play Tomb Kings, VC or Necrons?
  8. Hey! That's not D&D (but it is cool and I might have to link it to a lot of my browncoat wannabe friends).
  9. Ok, Bloodywood is funny as heck but it lead to a wasted evening of chasing stupid links through YouTube. Wandering through Amorphis and BatMetal somehow I eventually found my way back to Rob Cantor.
  10. Shouldn't that be under a "bits trade" title?
  11. I have not picked up a copy yet but it includes DLC versions of some games that I didn't expect to be able to find ever again (e.g. Indonesia). I looked at it 18 months ago (roughly) and was unimpressed with what it offered at the time but it has come a long way... Scripted versions of Eclipse, Twilight Empire, Indonesia and others. Lots and lots of stuff in the Workshop community for 40k and roleplaying games. Was wondering if anyone had personal experience with it and if so what you had played.
  12. Interesting. I have always heard it used idiomatically in either case, referring to myself or to someone else. I suppose in this politically correct world someone might should mention to the dictionaries that ti would be helpful to include references to others to indicate that it is copacetic to use in either direction.
  13. o.0 That's been a routine idiom for decades. Maybe it is out of fashion now?
  14. Meant to post this when I heard that she had passed...
  15. There ya go, market it as a hobby freeze for beastmen and paint some fangs on the deer in the logo.
  16. For those interested in elaboration about cryptocurrency mining, this link should make it clear why there is a demand for the cards... https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/guides/how-to-choose-a-gpu-to-mine-ether-with/ https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/#/equipment
  17. I'm not sure I would be as dark about it as Pax, but it's all going to depend on what you have right now. If you *can* upgrade HD and video card then depending on what you are running now you can pick up a nice graphics card for $100-200 that will boost performance. If your MoBo can drive one you could pick up a shiny SSD or even an M.2 to improve access speeds. How much you can upgrade is going to be dependent on what you have in the machine right now though.
  18. Graphics cards have GPUs in them. With the right software, GPUs are the cheapest flops per dollar available on the market (because they are essentially nothing but flops and memory). As a result, anyone who wants to mine digital currency buys a machine with multiple graphics cards slots and loads up on high end GPUs meaning they compete with gamers for available high-end graphics cards.
  19. Man, with the map you posted I expected a "Ur welcome" pun at the very least, Raindog. You're falling down on the job! But I agree, these are awesome maps and I have sent a link for him to a bunch of other gamers I know.
  20. While it is nice to have the hardcover, Paizo publishes all their material and markets through their own website. Make sure you look for the free PDF resources there. http://paizo.com/pathfinder/pfsScenarios http://paizo.com/pathfinder/adventurePath They are numbered in the order published. You can probably get upwards of 100 free adventures in PDF format. Grab the first 3-5 and read through them and see what you like.
  21. For those slackers like me who have not picked it up yet.
  22. Sadly, I am unimpressed. My wishlist saw very little love. If you come across any gems worth a look, post them here.
  23. But it's only news while it is a disaster. When it is a week old they will have a much harder time attracting readers. Look how many of us went out of our way to read something about it now. I know I won't be seeking out information next week, even if there is new information. Their best bet for getting readers (and therefore advertising dollars) is to post early and post often.
  24. Interesting, and CNN has removed the section of their article claiming that the track had PTC installed. They still have the section describing PTC and covering the congressional mandates and timelines but the section about that track itself is removed now (with no notation that it has been edited). And yet they wonder why people don't trust them to report things. <sigh>
