  1. There's a Goodwill on my way home. Fine suggestion, thanks!
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. I've got the tools and have built furniture before. But in this case, I just want to buy some nice shelves for my books.
  3. Any suggestions on where to go to get good quality, yet affordable, bookshelves in Vancouver/Portland? Doesn't have to be fancy, actually quite the opposite desired. Ikea is right out -- I've already bought, and subsequently replaced, enough compressed paper furniture.
  4. Tacky, but strangely compelling: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/polyherodice/polyhero-dice-wizard-set
  5. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) -- 9/10 Such fun! Guy Ritchie retro-modernized the 1960's spy caper with great results.
  6. Is it April 2017 yet?
  7. I'm about halfway through the second season of Daredevil. I loved the first season, but something just isn't right with the second... the pacing is off, and the chemistry with Electra is all wrong. Hopefully it picks up in the second half.
  8. It's a good thing the Starks are noble, loyal and good with a sword cuz they're universally dumb as a bag of hammers.
  9. Skip the last episode. Any head canon is better than what they tossed together,
  10. I've been reading The Lies of Locke Lemora but have been struggling to get through it for some reason. Not sure why I'm having trouble, it should be right up my alley... pacing is a bit off I guess but nothing fatal. Weird. Just one of those books I guess.
  11. Thanks for the review. Sounds like my kind of game.
  12. Witcher 3 is on sale 50% off on Steam. Is it as good as I've heard?
  13. Resurrecting this thread -- I'm about 80% of the way through this game, and it is just awesome. The orcs are amazingly characterful -- I had one creep rival who never spoke, just wheezed, laughed quietly and clacked his teeth at me. We had three or four battles, but were never able to finish each other off. Finally, I got the drop on him and took him out... and felt a bit bad about it. I miss the creepy little bugger. Combat is exciting, with combos that aren't impossible to get off. The Nemesis system is really fun and effective too; it is very cool to have multiple approaches to taking out enemies, including playing them against each other. Definitely the best $12.50 (Steam sale) I've ever spent on a game.
  14. The game from the Kingkiller Chronicles, by Cheapass Games... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cheapassgames/tak-a-beautiful-game
  15. He Never Died. Henry Rollins in a (kind'a) new spin on an old story. I really liked it. 8.5/10. It's on Netflix.
  16. Unknown Armies 3rd Edition: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atlasgames/unknown-armies-third-edition-roleplaying-game
  17. Humble Bundle does tabletop RPGs apparently: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/paizo-pathfinder-bundle#heading-logo
  18. I have an original Jambox that I use in the car to listen to podcasts. It's fine for that, but not up to listening to music (no low end). This might be useful: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-bluetooth-speaker/
  19. I just finished Firewatch. Though short (~5 hours) I really enjoyed the game -- it does a good job of investing the player in the story emotionally, and the plot is enjoyable. More detailed criticism below, but no game spoilers:
  20. An amazing accomplishment, congratulations!
  21. I'm behind the times: True Detective season 1: Fantastic performances by Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, and a good plot with some interesting crossover appeal. 9/10
  22. I thought I saw some at Dice Age a couple of weeks ago...
  23. https://www.facebook.com/theindependentcharacters/posts/1166374866707845 I'm quite happy about this, they were pretty much the only 40k podcast I could stomach.
  24. Yeah, I guess they must've -- it just seems that with the Ion Cannon fitting in exactly the same place they might have intended something less permanent. Forgot who I was talking about there for a sec... duh.
